2 out of 5 eggsMy last Razer

Pros: Good grip on the sides, fully customizable, excellent DPI range.

Cons: You have to register an account if you want to use the included software, and it can add to start-up time, after extended use with the led on tracking would be effected (with the led off it wasn't effected)

Other Thoughts: I use this for mainly gaming and photo editing. Its just outside of warranty and the scroll wheel is coming apart like the last one. I didn't get this one with Newegg because I had to replace the last one on a deadline. I've had four Razer mice and the first two lasted a lot longer.

5 out of 5 eggsMy Favorite Company

Pros: The high (true) DPI and customization capabilities allow you to fine tune this mouse to make it most comfortable for you, no matter your gaming style. Paired with Razer Synapse and any other Razer peripherals, you'll be more than content with your setup... you'll own the battlefield.

Cons: The ONLY con I can come up for the Taipan is that the ambidextrous design can be hard to acclimate to, but since it was listed as such, it was not a surprise.

Other Thoughts: Overall, I have owned Steel Series, Roccat, and Logitec peripherals and nothing I've owned fits me better than Razer's. I will be a Razer supporter and customer for life.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat mouse

Pros: Good build quality
Macro buttons
Good specs
Longer mouse
Braided cable
Good weight

Cons: Macro keys on the right side (for right hand users) are difficult to press (at least on purpose) and vice versa for left hand users.

4 out of 5 eggsTaipan

Pros: I have always loved razer peripherals. I came from the mamba recently when it broke after a year and a half. So I purchased the Taipan for the higher dpi. It is what you would expect from a precision piece of equipment.

Cons: I do feel the thumb buttons could have gone in the groove area where your thumb naturally sits for better ergonomics and easier access for voice applications.

Other Thoughts: The extra dpi is worth it. max dpi crew checkin in.

1 out of 5 eggsCloud Mouse Software...?

Pros: The mouse itself is very nice. I like ambidextrous mice because most ergo mice don't have left and right shoulder buttons, and hitting the wrong shoulder button when one of them is mapped to "throw grenade" can be bad.

Cons: The software. To configure the stupid thing you have to install their cloud sync software and make an account. I need to create yet another login/password combo to use a stupid mouse. You can't create profiles and play with button mappings until you've done this. I would not have bought the mouse if I knew this on general principle. The software also takes a while to load on boot. What is the purpose of this? So I can load my profiles after taking the mouse to my friend's house or an internet cafe, after loading their software on someone else's machine? Who does that?

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Ambidextrous Mouse

Pros: Ambidextrous.
Very clean, comfortable design.
Very sturdy and resilient.
Let's face it...it looks amazing!

Cons: No frills, no real customization.

Other Thoughts: This is likely my favorite mouse for the price. Not only is it responsive on a variety of surfaces (including glass), but it very comfortable to hold, extremely well made and sturdy, and not hard on the eyes. The little vents on the front of the mouse make it look like a little mecha!

As a testament to it's durability it has survived several falls from my desk, my bag and even someone spilling Red Moscato all over it. When I spilled the wine on it, I simply disassembled it and cleaned the two PCB's that make up the mouse and the sensors and it has continued to work like a champ. The internal design is so clean and simple that disassembling it for cleaning is easy (if you are a klutz like me).

Really the only problem I can see with this mouse is that unlike other mice in it's price range (like the Logitech G500s or the Cyborg R.A.T 5), it isn't customizable in any regard. However with what a sweet little mouse it is, I hardly consider this to be unimportant. Frankly, I think a mouse with adjustable weight doesn't really help a poor player become better. Honestly instead of making infinitely adjustable mice I wish that companies would just do as Razer has done and make mice that are comfortable to hold and good weight (not too heavy, and not so light they feel as if they are going to float away).

Until recently this mouse was my favorite mouse. The only mouse better is the Razer Oroboros =). But that is for another review.

5 out of 5 eggsAmbidextrous Gaming Mouse Razer Taipan

Pros: Excellent job Razer! The Taipan is a vast improvement over my Lachesis. The response is incredible and the knurled side grips keep the mouse where it belongs, in my hand. The new sensitivity controls in the R.Synapse are more intuitive to my liking. The side buttons are easier to hit with my fingers now as the are better detected to feel! Thanks again Razer!!

Cons: My only problem is that I miss being able to change the lighting colors to go with my different profiles. LOL.

5 out of 5 eggsAmbidextrous Gaming Mouse Razer Taipan

Pros: I love the new feel of this mouse. The buttons are more ergonomic and easier to feel than my previous Lachesis mouse. The addition to the Razer Synapse software make setting the controls, settings and lift off a one stop shop along with my Ultimate Black Widow Stealth keyboard. The Taipan has a knurled finish so my fingers don't slide around anymore.

Cons: My only complaint is I miss being able to change the lighting colors to match different profiles!

1 out of 5 eggsReturning

Pros: nice cable

Cons: Want drivers? Sign away your rights and intellectual property to them, and they'll let you use the mouse you paid for. If not, you're stuck with a basic mouse at a gaming mouse price. Terms are unacceptable and returning.

Other Thoughts: RAZER is no longer on my list of decent companies. Any company that disrespects their customers gets my distrust.
