Get the ultimate in high-end gaming with the Razer Diamondback mouse. This chameleon-green colored mouse scans at 1600 dpi, twice that of conventional mouse sensors, and motion detection of over 6400 frames per second for instant response to in-game cursor movements. As compared to the 8-bit and 12-bit data path that conventional mice use, the Razer Diamondback utilizes 16-bit data path to provide unrestricted ultra-fast data transfer from the mouse to the computer.

Its ultra large non-slip mouse buttons ensure a finer grip while clicking, and side rails provide a better grip on surfaces. The Zero-Acoustic Ultraslick Teflon feet aid in better traction. The gold-plated USB connector aids in maximum conductivity, and it has a 7-foot long, non-tangle cord for convenience and a neater look. The Razer drivers, with on-the-fly sensitivity, switch between multiple resolutions at the touch of a button.

  • newegg Optical Engine Powered by Razer Precision Powered by the Razer Precision optical engine, the Razer Diamondback features 1600 DPI sensor resolution, a high frame rate of over 6400 fps (5.8 megapixels per second), high-speed motion detection (up to 40ips and 15g), and 16-bit data path for absolute precision and control.
  • newegg Ultra-large Non-slip Mouse Buttons Two ultra-large non-slip main mouse buttons (left and right) are tactilely responsive, keeping your hand steady in gaming and regular use.
  • newegg 7 Physical Buttons The 7 independently-programmable physical buttons are optimized for gaming responses.
  • newegg Teflon Mouse Feet The Razer Diamondback features zero-acoustic Teflon mouse feet for smooth motion on any surface.
  • newegg Special Razer Carrying Case A Razer carrying case, purposely designed for the Razer Diamondback, is provided for convenient carrying.
  • newegg Gold-Plated USB Connector A gold-plated USB connecter provides maximum conductivity for the performance you expect during both gaming and regular use.

5 out of 5 eggsSTILL AWESOME ALL THROUGH TIME!!

Pros: Lightweight, Fun red glow, Fun pearl chameleon color, 1600x2 DPI, USB wired, 7 buttons counting the scroll click, NO BATTERIES NEEDED, still works great after 5+ years! Windows seven still has the good WDM drivers! Razer support! Prescision still after all this time. =D

Cons: 1. I didn't buy it from newegg. ($80 originally from best buy.
2. cheap painted lettering on the top which rubbed off from cleaning and use.
3. Software terrible.
4. not wireless, bluetooth/RF.
5. Eba* only now.

Other Thoughts: I did this review mainly for the curious, historic lookers and ebayers who wind up here from shopping there or searches. I am an avid newegg shopper/ebayer.
This is one of the best gamer mice I have ever owned. I only did this review because it deserves some love. It still games awesome! I think it will probably still go through the next generation of games as well. I have abused it a lot. Smashed it and stuck the left click button, took it apart and fixed it, still going, still awesome!

5 out of 5 eggsLefty through & through

Pros: being a die hard lefty through & through my options for gaming hardware are limited when it comes to good quality mice & joysticks. this is one of the better lefty mice I have come across. heck.. this thing is one of the best all around mice period for gaming without spending an arm and a leg.
Ordered late monday night 2nd day delivery. newegg got it to me a day early.. thats cool!!

Cons: uhm... didn't have it in chevy red :p

4 out of 5 eggsgood mouse, meh software

Pros: Comfortable, big left and right buttons (which are also separate pieces so they last), good scroll wheel, cool blue LED glow

Cons: Drivers and software I found have been somewhat wonky

Other Thoughts: I bought this mouse quite a while ago from newegg, and the mouse itself has always held up as topnotch in my opinion. However, I've found that the software this mouse comes with is a bit... off. Occasionally it will outright refuse to apply my different macro settings, and sometimes the side buttons on the mouse will stop working at random intervals. Otherwise great mouse

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Looks cool. Feels great. Works great. Worth the money.

Cons: it might be a little to small, but you can get used to it

Other Thoughts: I had this mouse for about a year and a half. Worked great. Its starting to die just about now.

5 out of 5 eggsbang for buck

Pros: really precise, very sensitive, big buttons, easy to press, fits my hand perfectly. light. i like USB mice now. cool chameleon paint job

Cons: none that i know of. i know when i first got mine, a lot of people were complaining about squeaking when they clicked. mine went through that phase, but after breaking in, it went away. no complaints!

Other Thoughts: technology seems to get outdated often, but after over a year with this piece, i still don't see anything worthy of replacing it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat mouse

Pros: Best mouse I've ever used in my 18+ years of computing.

Cons: Not good if you have a rabbit.

Other Thoughts: Bought this new mouse to replace the one (same Razer) that my rabbit chewed the cord off of.

5 out of 5 eggsWhoa! Weird but amazingggg

Pros: Amazing range of sensitivity
Enough buttons
Great response
Great for gamers =)

Cons: Odd "pinky button" location
Long buttons (takes some time to get used to)

I must say the "pinky" button is kind of weird because its not in a place where you can really reach it and be functional. It would work better if it was towards the tip. I don't need it anyway, I just use it to activate talk in FPS games. I use the thumb button for switching to melee weapons (shield gun in UT2k4)... Works for me. I never used that many buttons anyway so its not a big change, it should improve your gaming not put a damper on it...

Also the buttons were like really long at first. As in my whole finger can lay on it (I have small hands) but you kinda use your fingers to guide it, your palm works okay too but for accuracy you kind of hold it a certain way so your fingers are arched. Youll get used to it (unless you have HUGE hands)

Other Thoughts: Theres really nothing bad about this mouse. I have only used ball mouses all my life and this is the first laser style mouse I have used. I LOVE it. I played Unreal Tournament with it and I have to practice and tweak the sensitivity but its getting there. What I did was set the "on the fly" setting to the middle button so I can just click and roll the middle button to adjust the sensitivity in game. This mouse is ultra smooth, I dont see who would possibly need 2000DPI. The 1600DPI plus a mixture of software/in-game sensitivity is perfect. Price is just about right too, I would've liked to pay between $25-30 for a mouse but hey I'm a gamer thats how the market is.

By the way, I've tried Lxxxtech G5s, they REALLY hurt and cramp up my hands, way too big. Side buttons are big and annoying too. Overall, the razer suits me well..

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This mouse is amazingly smooth, especially when compared to my old ball mouse! The on-the-fly sensitivity is fantastic. It makes it so easy to adapt to any gaming situation with just the click of a button and a roll of the wheel.

Cons: None thus far.

Other Thoughts: I would definitely recommend this mouse if you're looking for something new. It looks great, it's smoother than silk, and (if you're a gamer like myself) it can definitely help your game out.
