4 out of 5 eggsFlexible Choice For Gamers

Pros: Having swappable cable with inline microphone is a huge bonus for gamers who often changes laptops like myself, the microphone an added incentive for someone who likes to shout into mics to get the team back together in MOBAs or MMORPGs. The plush leatherette ear cushions also provides excellent noise cancellation, giving your ears comfort especially for long hours uses.

Cons: Although it might be considered lightweight, it may still need time to get adjusted to wearing these headphones..However, once you get used to wearing these headphones, you are able to get the full audio experience that you deserve.

5 out of 5 eggsSo after a few months of use..

Pros: Build Quality
Sound Quality

Cons: Cost
Comfort (At the Start)

Other Thoughts: I wanted to break in the headphones and really give them a fair chance. I wanted to wait to write a review until I had felt that I had a good grasp of the headset. So here I am.

Upon first receiving the package, the box and packaging was very well done.

Opening it was a huge joy, the case the headphones is in feels very premium. As does the rest of the headset.

The entire headset screams quality, from top to bottom.

However, upon first wearing the headset, I found it extremely UN-comfortable.. Now, I'm sure this is more of a problem with me, than anything else. I have somewhat of a large head, I've struggled in the past with most (If not all) "One-Size Fits All" type of hats and headgear. So this wasn't a big shock but it was very painful wearing them for the first few days (For long periods of time).

So I had to really stretch out the headset, (Nothing too crazy, and still within the limits of the headset of course) to do this I simply used the case the headset came in actually; it seemed to be about the perfect width. So I burned in the headphones and had them stretched over the case and it was so much more comfortable afterwards.

After almost two months of constant use (At least 8 - 12 hours a day), I can say that not only has it lived up to my expectations but it's actually done very well in passing them. The quality of the headset is second to none, which you SHOULD expect from a headset of this price. Both in build and audio quality. and has held up extremely well. The audio holds up extremely well at all levels, from quiet to loud. It's actually very clear. Is it an "audiophile" grade headset though?

I would have to say yes. Now, personally I think that there are better audiophile grade headsets out there, but you're either (In my experience) not going to have the same build quality and aesthetic look to it. Which might not be important to you, but they are definitely a selling point here and these are VERY attractive headsets.

Also just another note on the audio quality... I noticed after switching to these headsets that I was hearing things that I literally could never hear before on my old headsets. Now I realize that I'm going to need to get a DAC. It's funny, having something so high quality that makes you realize how bad your setup is and makes you realize you need to spend some more money to fix it.

5 out of 5 eggsNo Complaints!

Pros: One of the best looking headsets you can get

Stereo connector instead of USB allows easy use with phone/tablet

Very comfortable and block out all outside noise

Not having boom mic makes these ideal for use at work/school - mic cord allows you to make phonecalls.

Cons: Price

I am not an audiophile, and this is my first expensive headset so be warned that I have no basis for comparison.

I have not used the mic in game yet, but am going to assume that it does not work as well as a boom mic.

Other Thoughts: I read a lot about Razer headsets and it seemed that the number one comment was something along the lines of, "These worked great! Until they broke..." This headset is hand crafted out of Grade A material so I am hoping that it will be reliable for years to come. I will update if I end up having to RMA these.

3 out of 5 eggsThink before you buy

Pros: Krakens are the ONLY decent headphones Razer produces, and I mean Decent at most.

Cons: $300 for and aluminumesque finish. Razer audio has let me down time after time after time, out of the 3 razer headsets I've owned I have RMA'd them a total of 4 times and had to settle with a lachesis that was only half dead in one side. I bought a pair of Krakens for my brother and they were actually what I expected for $60, besides being unbearable to look at.

Other Thoughts: I have 0 problem dropping $300 on a good headset, I bought a pair of V. Moda m100s last month for $305. Looking at the Kraken Forged and the M100s I realized the Forgeds just have the features of the m100s. They both fold, come with a case, come with 2 detachable cables, one inline mic. These seem to just be Beats, but for gamers. All that being said I actually really like Razer peripherals, I only buy Razer mice and keyboards. Sadly Razer audio just isn't near on the level the rest of their lines are.
