Razer Ouroboros Gaming Mouse

8200dpi 4G Laser Sensor

Whether your console is legacy or current-gen and connected to a display via HDMI or component/ composite, the Razer Carcharias for Xbox 360/PC is ready to go right out of the box. All required cables and adapters are included to ensure you can connect to any Xbox 360 within minutes.

Dual Gaming-Grade Wired/Wireless Technology

Are you ready to take your gaming further than before, cord-free? As Razer is the pioneer of the world's first gaming-grade wireless tech, you can be assured the Razer Ouroboros performs as well cordless as it does corded. With a 1ms response rate, your command is executed first even if you and your opponent react at exactly the same time.

When the battery depletes in the Razer Ouroboros, just plug in the USB cable so you can keep gaming while it recharges, for zero downtime.

Razer Ouroboros Gaming Mouse

Dedicated DPI Clutch-Trigger

Stay on top of the competition and adapt to the situation with the Razer Ouroboros' dedicated dpi clutch-trigger. Hold it down to temporarily increase or decrease the mouse's dpi so you can get the exact sensitivity you need for the moment in-game.

For instance, when you switch to a sniper to take out a target far away, use the clutch to slow your dpi down, and once the enemy has been dispatched with precision, release the clutch to return to your usual lightning fast assault mode.

Razer Ouroboros Gaming Mouse

Powered by a Single AA Battery

Game for longer cordless when the Razer Ouroboros is conveniently powered by a single AA battery with up to 12 hours of continuous gaming. The supplied NiMH battery is rechargeable, so you can plug in the USB cord or place it on the dock to get it back up to full juice when depleted. Or, just hot-swap with any ordinary AA alkaline battery so you can keep going like a beast.

Razer Ouroboros Gaming Mouse

ARM 32-Bit Processor

The Razer Ouroboros is outfitted with a 32-bit ARM processor which means there's a little computer onboard that is computing everything at an incredibly fast rate. The mouse is quite literally an extension of your hand when every movement you make, every function on the mouse you execute, is delivered instantaneously.

Razer Ouroboros Gaming Mouse

Scroll Wheel

Scroll wheels are just as important for going through lengthy websites and documents, as they are for gaming. Whether it is to scope, throw a grenade or zoom in on the battlefield, yours needs to be highly robust for heavy duty scrolling.

That's why Razer mice scroll wheels can turn hundreds of millions of times in its lifespan, and be actuated with the exact same precision as a mouse button.

Razer Ouroboros Gaming Mouse

Hyperesponse Buttons

From Razer's very first gaming mouse to now, our mice buttons are designed to be hair-trigger sensitive. This means as soon as you think it, your finger has already mouse clicked it. Utilizing highly durable Omron switches, there is a pronounced tactile feedback to your fingertips with each actuation, so you get the absolute assurance that you're winning with precision.

Razer Ouroboros Gaming Mouse

Green LED Lighting

The Razer Ouroboros features bright green lighting on the mouse scroll wheel, battery indicator and side accents. It calls out that this is a Razer mouse, and it was designed to win.

Razer Ouroboros Gaming Mouse

Synapse 2.0

Synapse 2.0 is not just a standard mouse configurator. It's packed with basic and advanced customizable features so your Razer Ouroboros works exactly the way you want it to.

Lift-Off Tracking

Low-sensitivity gamers who lift other mice may experience on-screen cursor jitter as mouse-to-surface tracking continues. This is a detriment to gamers who need absolute accuracy in their games, as the cursor being thrown off a target may mean the difference between winning and losing.

In the Razer Ouroboros, once the sensor has been calibrated to the surface, you can customize the height at which tracking is cut-off when the mouse is lifted. This ensures on-screen cursor jitter is reduced; so your aim stays dead-on target even as you move.

Surface Calibration

By calibrating your Razer Ouroboros to a specific surface, it enables the sensor to record that surface's color, topography, and other such properties. As variations on the surface are continuously detected as the mouse moves, it is compared to the original recording, allowing the sensor to react quicker and more accurately.

Unlimited Profiles and Other Configurations

Every game is different and comes with its own set of control requirements. No longer limited by last generation onboard device memory, Razer Synapse 2.0 brings the brain of the Razer Ouroboros to the cloud, expanding the number of storable profiles and configurations to infinite, and allows for longer, more complex macros.

Inter-Device Communication

Pair two Razer peripherals for the ultimate gaming combo. You can temporarily change the sensitivity on your Razer mouse by holding down a button on your Razer keyboard, or quickly change keyboard profiles using the mouse scroll wheel, with customizable lighting reflecting these changes. Even create macros on your mouse and have it available on your keyboard, there is no limit to what you can do with the hive mind that is Razer Synapse 2.0

4 out of 5 eggsgreat mouse

Pros: This is an awesome mouse. I've used it alot since I've got it and it hasn't disappointed. It is lightweight, feels great in the hand, and is accurate as all get out. The green light is pretty cool too. It has buttons galore and the software is easily configurable to suit your needs. The price was right as I don't mind refurbished units. As a general rule refurbs are better because the manufacturer has went through the unit and made sure everything works and is up to spec. Whereas not every new unit gets tested and could be bad out of the box. All in all I am happy with it. I only have a couple of cons. See below..

Cons: I have a couple. Not so bad as to deter me from ever buying another one but worth noting nonetheless. 1st. It is SUPER sensitive within Linux. I use Linux along side my windows install to write code etc. And use Windows to play games. It works great in Windows as you have the ability to use the software to adjust the sensitivity and threshold. However, in Linux, not so much. I spent about 2 hours trying to hack my configuration file to get the sensitivity down to an acceptable level and it's still to touchy. I have the lowest settings I can use and it's still too twitchy. 2nd. The battery runs down quick. I have mine set to sleep within 5 minutes of no movement and it still dies after a days use. Other wireless mice I've owned and still own will run off a full charge for days if not weeks off a single charge. This one is dead after about 18 hours of use. So bad in fact I've had to swap a regular duracell AA to get me through until I charge again. But you can hook the cable up and charge while you use it if you so desire.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic mouse

Pros: I already use both hands when it comes to mice (to prevent strain - for gaming I exclusively use the right hand) and this mouse makes it a breeze.

Cons: The plan makes sense on paper -- use the base as the receiver/transmitter as well as docking station for power. The problem is that when you're done using the computer and turn it off - there's no charging taking place.

4 out of 5 eggsgood mouse

Pros: nice mouse very adjustable, not heavy despite what some reviews say.

works wired or wirelessly.

synapse software is a pro and a con, since it dosnt store profiles on the mouse but loads them each time the system starts

on the other hand, it still kicks the logitech softwares ar.se in my opinion, the on screen dps register (when changing dps you can see what setting your at when you change it ON SCREEN), the lack of onboard storage of profile info on these mice isnt really a big issue.

Cons: would be nice if the swapable sides offered some that had "wings" that went farther back on the mouse to rest unused fingers fully on, other then that its a great mouse.

synapse software is better then logictechs gaming software but has its down sides, for one you cant store custom profiles on the mouse itself, so DPS settings and key binds only work when the software is loaded.

Other Thoughts: If Synapse crashes on load, make sure you arent running RadeonPro or if you are add it to the exclusion settings in radeon pro's settings(hit the settings button and add it as an exculsion)

its a known issue with radeonpro but sadly the fellow who created radeonpro has abandoned the program fully after getting a job working for raptr.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: The mouse feels absolutely amazing in your hand. It is completely ambidextrous so lefties like my wife can enjoy it. The responsiveness while wireless is also something to behold. The buttons are positioned just so that you can easily reach them no matter the situation, and the clutch switch on the side is a very neat feature.

Cons: The reason for such a low review is not exactly the mouses fault, which I know means that I probably shouldn't rate it how I have. However, I feel the need to warn anyone thinking of purchasing this mouse that the potential issues can really bite you. The mouse itself doesn't have any real problems, however the driver for this specific mouse make it almost unusable most of the time. It cuts out randomly when using it in wired mode and actually performs better wirelessly. A huge issue is that if you let the mouse go to sleep while plugged in via wire there is a good chance that when you wake it up it will behave very abnormal to the point that one axis of the movement is completely messed up. Meaning that it is very hard to move the cursor at all. There are a plethora of other issues that arise from the driver for this mouse but I won't list them all here. Just google razer ouroboros connection problem and there will be several links to various blogs explaining in great detail the problems that can arise with this mouse.
