Good
- Pros: Functional, great tech support, very responsive feel.
- Cons: I don't understand where this company gets the balls to charge $50 for the same product for companies and less for consumers. What a load of garbage.
- Other Thoughts: Newegg stays consistently fantastic. Quick shipping, and great customer service.
Excellent for 3D navigation
- Pros: + 6 DoF in an easy to use input device...WOW!!
+ The base is weighted and has a non-stick, non-slippery surface so that it doesn't move around when using or pulling up on it. + Makes navigation in 3D applications (Blender, Google Earth, personally developed 3D apps...) so much easier than a standard mouse. + Very nice sensitivity. + Doesn't suffer from the problem joysticks have where movement along the x/y-axes is easy, but it takes effort to move in any other direction. ALL movement is fluid and easy.
- Cons: - It can be pretty tricky to only move in the direction you want. Many times when moving it forward, for example, I end up tilting it down as well.
- The grip could stand to be a little larger to make holding and control easier. - The cable is a little too short. It is recommended to place it on the left side of the keyboard so that you can still use the mouse with your right hand, so if the PC is on the right side it doesn't reach.
- Other Thoughts: THIS IS NOT A MOUSE!!! This is a 3D input device and cannot be used as a mouse for desktop applications. In fact, the DirectInput recognizes it as a joystick, which makes sense but may not be obvious before you buy it. Also, while the two buttons can be programmed for various things, they are not recognized as mouse clicks...because it's not a mouse. This is neither a pro nor con, just info people need to be aware of.
The one I'm using actually belongs to a coworker, but after playing around with it I can't wait to buy one for myself at home!!
