4 out of 5 eggsGreat, but not perfect

Pros: -Looks great, especially with the LEDs turned up.
-Great sound quality from highs and lows (even better with
Creative software)
-Great voice quality from included microphone
-Comes with a nice stand
-Wireless (of course)
-Good range
-Detachable microphone
-On-board volume / mute buttons
-Good battery if used wisely (I have the LEDs turned off most
of the time and turn the headphones off when not using
them.)

Cons: -Very tight fitting around the head (not very flexible in that
dimension)
-Somewhat shallow ear-cups (my ears sometimes become
irritated from touching the inside of the ear-cup)
-Somewhat heavy sitting on my head (can sometimes be
uncomfortable)
-Headset does not sit well on the stand WHILE it is charging
(the cable input on the headset is on the bottom of the left
ear-cup and touches the bottom of the stand)
-LED on receiver blinks constantly

Other Thoughts: I read plenty of reviews on this headset before buying and many say the ear-cups break rather easily, and after using them for some time and seeing how inflexible they are around the head I can understand how easily it would be to break the plastic connecting the ear-cup to the band, however overall the sound and voice quality is great and the wireless functionality is of course very nice.

2 out of 5 eggsIt broke on me

Pros: Great sound. Very good range. Comfortable. Uh-mazing microphone clarity (almost tooo good)

Cons: Taking my headphones off of my head the left earpiece broke at the screws. I tried to return the item thinking this was an easy fix and was told it was physical damage and not covered under my extended warranty. Attempting to appeal this but having read the other article on Newegg where the exact same problem happened to someone I'm cautiously skeptical.

1 out of 5 eggsDisapointed

Pros: Sound Quality superb!
Wireless.
THX!

Cons: The device breaks between 1 hour to 2 weeks!

Other Thoughts: This is a Caution for what I had to deal with was completely unacceptable!

For the first two weeks the headset worked wonders! Then the device malfunctioned so I had it RMA.

When I got the headset back I was quite glad to have it... only to have it break again and this time the right speaker completely cut out!

Without a doubt this has been my worst shopping experience. I will most likely never order something like this ever again. It's not worth the stress, money and my time.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello there, this is certainly unusual and not the user experience we want you to have. Please contact us at socialmedia@creativelabs.com and we'll make sure we get you taken care of.

1 out of 5 eggsCheaply Made.

Pros: Good Sound.

Cons: Very poorly made. Fell apart after only a few months. Microphone stopped working. Both ear pieces snapped. The padding on ears falls of constantly. Cord is ridiculously short (like 6 inches). Charge does not last. Power button needs to be held for about 10 seconds for it to work.

For what these cost they should be of the highest workmanship. Instead it is all plastic garbage. The specs claim it has a solid metal core. After they snapped there was no metal present in the framing.

I will never buy creative again. $150 for headphones that fall apart in 3 months.

1 out of 5 eggsSnapped after 6 months

Pros: Overall quality of sound is good.

It works quite well for gaming, music, and VOIP. The Dialog Plus feature in the sound control panel is especially nice, as it makes it easier to hear people via VOIP with otherwise poor microphones.

The equalizer doesn't do much for it, and is usually unnecessary.

The range on this headset is amazing. Being on the second floor, I can go outside of my house - on the opposite side of the house where my computer is located - and, even several yards to the mailbox, still get near-flawless reception. It may disconnect for a split second, but it reconnects shortly after without issue. Fantastic!

Cons: The power button is annoying. Have to hold it down for an abnormally long time, and sometimes, when turning it off while it is charging, the icon turns red as in it is off, but I can still hear audio - it's still on.

The microphone mute button is nice to have but in an annoying spot. Sometimes I randomly hit it when putting the headset on or taking it off. The only notification that it's even muted is the actual light on the button, which you can't see unless you take the headset off. Not good.

The headset isn't as comfortable as some other gaming headsets on the market. One day, after wearing it for an extended period of time, I actually took it off to notice a sore right above my ear. It was from the cushion pushing on my glasses. My head isn't big and I've never had this issue with any other headset before. Not cool.

The stand is meh. It can fall over easily. The "weight" at the bottom is the actual wireless receiver, which doesn't ever stay in its space. It's not held in.

Other Thoughts: The reason for my 1 star review...
This thing broke after 6 months.

I was taking it off of my head like I always do numerous times a day, and the thing just snaps. The plastic behind the screws that holds the metal extendable part of the headband into the left ear broke cleanly. I was appalled.

Mind you the speaker and the microphone were still working flawlessly, but the left ear driver - microphone and all - are dangling from the headband, connected only by a wire.

Creative was extremely unhelpful and rude. Newegg wasn't able to convince Creative to help either, although they tried.

This was a huge waste of $200. You can get more for your money, and better customer support, from numerous other options that are available for cheaper prices.

I'll personally be looking into the Corsair Vengeance 2000. I had the Corsair HS1 before this, which was $100 at the time, and it's sound quality was nearly as good as this. Corsair also has fantastic customer support.

Don't buy

5 out of 5 eggsOverall Great

Pros: - Great sound quality
- Software is great and easy to use with added goodies
- looks and feels solid, led is appealing to the eye
- mic is wonderful having no problems and is adjustable
- included stand is a nice bonus which keeps things neat on the desk
- Comfortably is good however, I still have not adjusted yet
- Range is great, my room is located on the second floor all the way in the back and I still receive signal all the way downstairs almost to outside.

Cons: - Ear cups do not breath well with the leathery material (although it is not too bad)
- Ear cups are snug around my ears not too big of an opening for your ears
- charging cable is very short and not long enough to charge while on your head
- Cannot plug mic directly into computer to use must go through the receiver

Other Thoughts: Alll in all the pros deff. outway the cons and this is a very great mic worth the money, but before you buy check your prices at other online retailers. It was between this mic and the logitech g930 and it honestly came down to software and looks vs the G keys.

1 out of 5 eggsDecent Product, Terrible Service

Pros: Product sounds good, range is good

Cons: The base station broke after a week and a half of normal usage, rendering it unusable. Creative took two weeks to reply to my RMA request, then refused to RMA. To quote them, "We have not received any similar issues pertaining to this headset's base station." Would recommend sticking with another brand who will support their product. Headset is useless without a base station, $200 wasted.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy from Creative. Bad build quality combined with the fact that they may not replace a broken product. This leaves you with over $200 wasted.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

Pros: Very comfortable, easy to hook up, decent software and Great Sound - including Bass! The Mic works great too!

Cons: None as far as I'm concerned but a true Audiophile might find some, see Other thoughts!

Other Thoughts: I have a good ear when it comes to sound quality due to allot of years spent working on car audio but not a true Audiophile. I've played games, I've watched HD movies and I've listened to high quality audio all of it sounds great to me. So my conclusion is that if you need a good headset but you want a better than average set of headphones as part of the deal then you can't really loose by getting yourself a set of these.
