5 out of 5 eggsSound blaster tactic3d rage usb

Pros: The nice 50 mm drivers have a really nice base a sound to them. The mic is the best mic i have ever heard on a gaming headset of this price.

Cons: But the only down side i have to it is my headset the cushion is a little hard but is breaking in slowly.

Other Thoughts: One other thing i really like about it is the 3D surround sound and it is awesome it makes you fell like you are on the battlefield running and shooting with your team or if you listen to music more then this is also awesome for listening to music just adjust the eq to how you like it and you have an awesome pair of headphones. But one last thing I think my favourite feature is the detachable mic just take it off and put it away.

1 out of 5 eggsAvoid

Pros: It worked. It also has amazing sound. Sometimes I get confused and think the sound is coming from my speakers.

Cons: It feels cheaply made. It hurts to wear after 1 hour. It also costs more than $50. I would not recommend this headset to anyone who has a normal sized head. This headset hurts to wear because of its puny size. Save your money and look elsewhere

4 out of 5 eggsSatisfied

Pros: Quite strongly build
Good Finish
The sound play like a charm
Big ear set.

Cons: Not stetchable enought (I have a big head) (Need like 1 inch more)
The steel plate that hold the ears are sharp

Other Thoughts: I had to RMA the first one dunno why the microphone made the headset malfunction.
And i will go with the one who said to remove the "mousse" on the micophone and store it carefully

1 out of 5 eggsCheaply Made

Pros: Super comfortable design. Can wear for hours without any discomfort. Beautiful led lights on the earpieces.

Cons: After 3 months, these headphones stopped working. Slowly, they started dropping the sound, clicking, or not turning on. I decided to try switching from the micro USB to the 3.5 mm adapter. When I unplugged the micro USB from the headphones, the whole earpiece started to crumble like cheap plastic. Using the 3.5 mm adapter, I was able to get about another month of use out of the headphones before they stopped working completely. Highly dissatisfied with the product unfortunately.

Other Thoughts: I took very good care of these headphones when I received them. I never ran over the cord (too short), never got them wet/dirty, never let them sit in sunlight or near hot surfaces or vents. It is my belief that I got a bad batch. I have used Creative products before without problem.
I would recommend these headphones, surprisingly. They are too comfortable if you game for long periods of time. If you have any issues whatsoever, return/replace immediately. Don't wait around until it is too late.

2 out of 5 eggsFragile

Pros: Sound is fairly strong, simulated surround sound is fairly decent. USB cable doesn't tangle or come apart.

Cons: "3D surround sound" isn't.
Bass is overdone - blows out some other audio. I had to set EQ to reduce bass for things to sound right.
Volume control is digital, and sets system volume rather than any internal setting, using a "beep" tone that doesn't indicate how loud/quiet the setting is (I take time to tune system settings, but this ruins that).
Ear cups don't seal well, they block very little external noise.
The headphones get uncomfortably heavy after a few hours of use, and the ear cups get very warm (they aren't overheating, they just don't release body heat).
Mounting point for ear cups is very fragile, combined with an overly stiff headband. Left side cracked while I was wearing them (not even moving or anything) and has since completely come apart. My headphones are now completely unwearable.

2 out of 5 eggsIt was okay for the first week or so...

Pros: -The USB cable that comes with this set is a very nice, braided nylon cable that is thick, robust, and never tangles
-Sounds fairly good, good bass and such
-Decent driver software utility
-Pretty lights that can do some interesting gimmicky things
-Can use 3.5mm headphone jack if you want
-You can use them as speakers if you use USB, they're so loud
-Uses a USB-A to USB Micro cable to connect to PC
-Removable mic...

Cons: ...That actually isn't all that good of an idea.
-Mic boom loses rigidity over time as it is bent, starts becoming almost too easy to bend
-The socket it plugs into has a specific shape so it can only fit into the standard 3.5mm hole one way to avoid rotation. However, I believe this groove got worn down over time, and the mic started rotating all over the place. Soon, I just preferred it be removed...
-The foam that covers the microphone is good for nothing but getting lost. Remove it and store it in a safe place if/when you buy this headset, otherwise you WILL lose it. Also, I have no idea how many times I've had this thing soaking up soup/food particles like a sponge because....
...You have to have the mic really close to actually have people hear you. Noise cancelling is also bad as I constantly had a particularly irritable friend complaining that I was breathing in my mic all the time, it's not great.
-Lights are gimmicky and are slightly pink when you want them to be "white"
-3.5mm cable provided leaves much to be desired and pales in comparison to the standard USB cable.
-When running on 3.5mm audio, headset is not loud and sounds very bad. Probably due to the impedance being designed for powered USB use, which is what I normally would do.
-Volume control is a digital, not analog wheel. Makes an annoying beep every time you move it a "click." This is part of the design, as the beep is higher when at full volume.
-Shoddy build quality, it doesn't feel very solid and there's a chip in the red part above my left earpiece that suddenly appeared there one day. I never bang my headsets around.
-Not very comfortable. The top cushion is the problem area for me, it doesn't sit right, and pushes too hard on my head. I get that little bit of a "hot" or "stinging" feeling after extended use. It is not very soft at all.
-Ear cushions are NOT as soft as the pictures would have you believe. They're made of a cheaper vinyl type material, not leatherette, like they appear in the pictures.
-Always loose on my head. I could never get them to sit tight, they never felt right. I have an average sized head, most headphones fit me well but these did not.
-The worst issue is that after a week or so, often times, the audio driver seemed to stop responding, go absent for a second, and then re-start. I don't know if it was a cable issue, a socket issue, or a software issue, but I believe it to be the third, as it seemed to happen only when the audio driver was under a heavy "load" (In-game with Skype running). It would cause everything to go silent, wait a second or two, then come back. The game would NOT regain its volume and would require a restart, and Skype would come back at a blaringly stupid full volume. This happened most in Arma II Day Z, but did happen elsewhere. I could not find any fix, so they are sitting in my parts drawer. Am not buying another Creative product until I see some quality improvements :/

Other Thoughts: It's really sad, as Creative used to be a really nice audio manufacturer. My friend has a pair of the first generation Fatality gaming headset (basically this set's little brother) and it sounded and felt amazing. Build quality and all. I thought maybe buying a larger version of that set later down the line would work, but I've been disappointed by this set, unfortunately...

1 out of 5 eggsHighly disappointed

Pros: USB detaches at headset.

Cons: After 2 weeks of having the headset, the USB cable began shorting out, the only option being sitting perfectly still to keep it from disconnecting. The abnormally heavy headset had me removing it several times every half-hour. Even though I still had the full warranty purchased through Newegg, I was still expected to pay to send the headset back, including the packaging it originally had come with, which I had long since thrown away thinking the headset would at least last a few months before causing such problems.

Other Thoughts: I don't see myself purchasing anything remotely like this again anytime soon.

1 out of 5 eggsNot worth the matireals.

Pros: Sound quality is good and for me it fit really well. Had a pair of Rage headphones for about six years and this was a nice upgrade to them in sound and recording quality. The LED lights make it blend in with the rest of my system so it was a win, win with the Black Friday sale.

Cons: The top of the headset got uncomfortable after a few hours of use. The quality of Creative has gone down hill and they are in no way durable even with stranded use and will most likely break on the USB connection or the ear pieces.

Other Thoughts: Don't waste your time with this pair its quality is not worth the hassle. I have had mine for a month and within a week they broke because of shabby craftsmanship. The min USB connection was way to lose on arrive. There customer service is a joke, only by email and they might (and I stress this part) get back to you past the automated message. Have to give this one egg just because if you are not one of the lucky ones this is just a paper wight with no customer service.

1 out of 5 eggsNot what advertised

Pros: Quick and easy setup.
Led's are pretty cool.
EQ and other options are pretty decent once you DL the program.

Cons: Not actually 7.1/5.1, or any other true surround sound.

This headset is picked up as a stereo device, so no true surround, during any test the left and right channels are blended together so when playing a left or right channel only test sound, it bleeds to both, unless you disable the "surround" software.

Unless any application or game is fully "compatible" with the creative software their is no form of surround, even when a game is, is still not using the actual surround channels.

NO DOLBY style multi channel surround.

Other Thoughts: Very disappointed in this product. I bought this for gaming as a replacement to my old Turtle beach because it advertised 7.1 surround, i recieved a product that is "stereo, 2 channnel 'virtual' surround".

1 out of 5 eggsDied on me completely doesn't work at all anymore

Pros: Lights and features. 7.1 headset *two thumbs up* (My first time experiencing it and I loved it)

Cons: Dead after a little more than 4 months.

Other Thoughts: I loved this headset up until it died on me. First the device would reconnect constantly on its own, and then finally it just conked out and won't be detected by my computer (or any other computer for that matter.)
