5 out of 5 eggsGenius!

Pros: small, light, foldable, compact. works great for the games i have on my computer

Cons: usb cable that comes with it is only about 2.5 feet long, luckily i had another compatible usb cord that is a lot longer and was able to use that

Other Thoughts: not enough buttons to work as a ps1 controller, but works well as a GameBoy Advance or Nintendo DS controller. i haven't had a chance to try out the vibration feature yet

5 out of 5 eggsI love this controller!

Pros: Compact. Portable. Easy to use.

Cons: Does bend in the middle. Two buttons short of Playstation controller.

Other Thoughts: I got this controller to play emulated games. Specifically, one of my all time favorite games, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. The only drawback to using this controller is that it's two buttons short of having all the buttons the Playstation controller has. I remedied this by putting start and select on the keyboard. Other than that, the controller works like a dream. It has exactly the right number of buttons for a SNES emulator. The sliding directional pad does take a little bit of getting used to, but it's textured, so it doesn't get slippery during intense gaming. Overall, I give this controller two thumbs up. Great for SNES emulation, and great for PSX emulation, if you're willing to assign two of the buttons to the keyboard.

3 out of 5 eggsSmall but impressive

Pros: This thing is small, uses a standard mini-usb connection and requires no special drivers for basic use.

Cons: When using the controller has a tendency to want to fold in half like it does for storage, and the directional pad will some times spin instead of changing direction. To keep the direction pad from spinning in place you need to hold it exactly from the center.

Other Thoughts: This is one small controler. Was expecting it to be around the size of an NES controler but this thing is smaller still. The four buttons on the right side can almost be covered by a quarter.

Comes with a decent sized clear plastic case, retractable mini-usb cable, and a mini cd with the drivers for the rumble. I did not bother with the drivers as I was only using to play emulators on netbook.

3 out of 5 eggsUnique and useful, in need of improvement

Pros: Extremely compact, even smaller than I was expecting. It's slightly smaller than my very small candybar cell phone when unfolded. Almost weightless and a good number and placement of buttons. Plug and play in Windows and Linux, no configurations/drivers needed. Nice retracting USB cable included.

Cons: The biggest problem is that it doesn't stay unfolded when playing a game. There actually is a small friction 'lock' that keeps it unfolded, but it's incredibly weak. The pad constantly bends like butterfly wings when you're playing anything remotely involved.

The second biggest problem is easily the joystick. It rotates in place, like it's not installed properly into the pad. This means when you press up on it, sometimes your force pressing up will actually just rotate the joystick, and not register a directional press. There is no function to the joystick rotating, it's just bad design. Overall, the joystick is a pain to use when doing anything fast-paced.

And the third major fault is that there are two dedicated buttons to control the turbo functionality. This is useless. They are hardwired to do that and cannot be mapped to things like start/select. Not to mention most programs let you map your own turbo buttons, meaning at best the buttons would still be redundant.

Other Thoughts: It's a great idea that needs some work. Frankly I'd like one that is even smaller, almost like a circuit board in thickness. As it is it's still a great companion to throw in any laptop bag to have some gaming fun on the go. But it does have major quirks that limit its use as a 'serious' gamepad. If you're just using it to play slow-paced games, it will still be great. At about 20 shipped, it's a little expensive though.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Controller

Pros: Won this last night at a LAN party and am nothing but pleased. Very small, compact size. I can fit the controller, cable and flash drive with emus and ROMS in my pocket for retro gaming anywhere.

The controller has a very nice feel in your hand and does not take any time to get used to.

As for software the controller is plug-and-play unless you want the rumble feature (Which I still can't figure out any software that supports it) so it is great for carrying around. Comes with a plastic case with a spot for the controller, USB cable and a memory card (Fit the 2GB flash drive that I won with it just fine).

Cons: My only cons for this would be that I would like a longer USB cable (But because it conects to the controller via a standard USB plug I can buy one rather cheaply) and that I would have liked to have seen a start/select button on the front of the controller as I currently have them mapped to 2 buttons on the top.

Other Thoughts: I got this for free as a prize but I would have no problem paying the rather cheap price they are asking for it. Well worth every single penny especially if you are into retro gaming.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: - Amazing controller for the price.
- Great layout for older 2-D games (like super nintendo roms)
- Has a vibration function still

Cons: - A little smaller than I expected (its about as long as a mouse)
- The cord is not terribly long either

Other Thoughts: - The joystick was a little funky to get use to at first but is actually quite handy.
perfect for me, since im playing games on the zsnes and is extremely easy to put away and keep neat.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat little guy

Pros: Ultra-portable, foldable. Works well with everything I have tried. Surprisingly good force-feedback (vibration). Fairly comfortable given the size.

Cons: No D-Pad, sometimes starts to fold up during intense gaming moments, but you can teach yourself to avoid it.

Other Thoughts: The perfect accessory to the Asus EeePC, it turns it into a very viable portable gaming system.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for the price

Pros: I got this for my EEE for a trip so I could play some old emulated games. It works perfectly, don't even need to install anything under XP, or bother calibrating it like any other controllers I've tried. It's small, you can just toss it in your bag with your laptop, which is great. Overall it's great, highly recommended.

Cons: Two minor things: first the PSP (they actually referred to the PSP's joystick on the box) joystick is a little...stiff...but it works fine. You may find your thumb getting a little tired after a while, but it's probably a good workout for when you go back to your regular controller. The other thing is that it is kidna small, borderline uncomfortable for that. I'm not so sure that it'd be great for extended play sessions for those two reasons, but it's held up good so far.

Other Thoughts: Newegg shipping is borderline ridiculous. It arrived yesterday from Dallas->OKC, and I'd ordered the day before. I JUST received the tracking number a good 24 hours after it arrived. If you need something shipped back in time, Newegg is the place, and I'm sure you know that by now.

3 out of 5 eggsShockingly small

Pros: Shockingly small. I mean, you know it's small -- this is stated all over the place -- but you won't know how small until you hold it, unfolded, in one hand and see how dwarfed it is by even smaller hands.
Still easy to get a good grip on despite its size.
Folds up nicely to take up even less room.
The roll-up cable is very handy for carrying around.
Has enough buttons for most games.

Cons: That analog stick... I don't have a PSP, so I can't comment on how close it is to that, but most of the stuff I wanted to use this gamepad on is designed for a digital pad. I find it nearly impossible to get a straight up, down, left, or right without also getting a wrong direction in there as well. No matter how hard I try I can't get it to be accurate enough. It doesn't help that it's more of a sliding stick than one you simply push as most analog sticks are, but really what it needs is a d-pad instead. The funny thing is, an earlier model used a d-pad, but they stopped making them and I can't even find them on auction sites (perhaps they weren't very good d-pads, but I'll bet they were better than the analog sliding stick for games needing a d-pad...)

Other Thoughts: The directional control is definitely a problem. Some may be able to adapt, but honestly I think I just can't do it. Everything else about this controller is amazing though. It can very easily fit into a pocket or case. I too got it for an EeePC, but honestly I won't be able to use it and am going to have to look elsewhere. However, I can definitely see it being useful for many people where it is not for me (especially with games intended for an analog stick rather than a d-pad.) I think everything else about it is very well designed in fact.

BTW, I don't know why some complain about the cable's length. It's just right for its intended purpose -- laptops. If you mean to use it with a desktop, why would use use a cable designed to roll up for maximum portability? This cable is perfect for its intended purpose and a longer cable would be a hinderance.
