1 out of 5 eggsNot what I expected.

Pros: The sound quality is decent when you push the headphones all the way on your ears, and also a pretty decent microphone.

Cons: Where to start. I bought these because I was tired of lugging around my Creative Fatal1ty's (another headset) in and out of my laptop bag (I use my laptop for games/music when I'm traveling). I chose these because they looked comfortable and had decent reviews, and also looked pretty sturdy. I was wrong. The padding around the headphone's speakers isn't what it looks like from the pictures. It feels like an extremely cheap fake foam (Almost the same texture as the foam peanuts Newegg sends with their items). Not only that, but they do not cover my ears at all. The spots where they apply pressure (usually in the middle of the speakers on each side so they "close off" your ears from the outside world) are actually placed at the top, so the top of them has a very good grip and the bottom is wide open. Makes for extremely bad sound and feel. I do not have an oddly shaped head. I wear a medium helmet and would say I am pretty "average" shaped.

Other Thoughts: I'd GLADLY use my iPod headphones over these.

3 out of 5 eggsSwing and a Miss

Pros: - The sound was good - Not great but certainly not bad as far as gaming went

- Quality seemed to be OK but I did not use them long enough find out

Cons: - Poor microphone quality

I was told by all my gaming buddies that the quality of the microphone was not good. I tried several methods of improving the quality but nothing worked.

Other Thoughts: To be fair to Rosewill I think I was expecting the quality a $90 USB headset for $20 bucks. As is usually the case that just doesn't happen, regardless of the manufacturer. I will keep the headset as an emergency set. Over the years I've purchased many items made by Rosewill and have been thoroughly happy with them. My expectations on this item were higher than reality.

Pros: Headset is fine for the price. You're not going to find a circumaural headset that's any better than this one for the money you're paying. Mic works well. Volume mute, mic mute and volume controls on the cord all work well. Very adjustable size. Comfy! If your head is too big for this headset than you probably need one custom fit.

Cons: Blue light on the cord controls is BRIGHT. Will "blind" you if it catches you in the eye. Lights up a dark room, and doesn't turn off when your PC is off. Owned mine for almost a year and just went out a few days ago. Some of the wires in the cord are disconnected and the sound only comes through the left ear. This is just after normal wear. Nothing out of the ordinary. These are CHEAP! You get what you pay for. If you want something that's gonna last, you gotta pay for it apparently.

Other Thoughts: I never had any issues because mine just sat at my desktop the whole time, but these are made of plastic. Pretty much the whole set. So if you plan on carrying it around from place to place you might want to think twice. they could break easily.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,
The light on the control unit will light up whenever power is being fed through the unit. I do know that some motherboards will have their USB ports still provide power even though the system is off. If there is no power supplied to the headset, then the light will not turn on.
Thanks,
Rosewill Customer Care

3 out of 5 eggsFor $30 you could get something better

Pros: Even though they feel cheap they have taken a lot of abuse and nothing has broken or ripped yet
Comfortable
These are good for gaming because of the open design which allows for a larger soundscape
A very sensitive mic

Cons: No noise isolation at all
Though comfortable can get itchy after a few hours
Not much bass but this is (usually) better for gaming
Bulky

Other Thoughts: The audio quality in general isn't a huge improvement from my old $15 Logitech headset which wasnt nearly as bulky or clunky. I really recommend separate pair of headphones and microphone for much better quality for same price.

They leave a pretty big indentation in my hair after wearing them awhile

1 out of 5 eggsSnap, Crackle, Pop

Pros: Sound okay when they work.

Cons: Like the title says snap, crackle, pop! No that's not rice crispys its horrible headphones.I wasted my money i'm not paying to ship em back. Took a gamble because i couldn't decide on what set i want. Just going to have to take the plunge.

Other Thoughts: I've purchased a rosewill case and some rosewill cat6 cables. The cables are fine and the case is okay but basic at best.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat headsets!!

Pros: For 20 bucks with promo code and free shipping, these babies feel great! Mic works awesome as well.

Cons: A little bulky, but once you feel the comfort and the sound quality, it does not matter.

Other Thoughts: I would pay full price for these, but luckily I didn't have to!

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: For the price, this is a fine headset. Installation was easy and for gaming it's great. I was torn between a four or five rating, and almost gave it a five based upon the value. It isn't a fantastic headset, but it isn't over a hundred dollars either.

Cons: Several minor problems: The headset is small and allows very little adjustment. I think if it we more adjustable, it wouldn't become uncomfortable (I have a big head btw). As others have mentioned, it is VERY loud and the adjustments don't solve this (without muting it). You will have to make system sound adjustments, and that could foul up your speaker settings. Finally, the little light on it that indicates it's on is VERY VERY bright... I mean flashlight bright.

Other Thoughts: I'd buy it again at the right price. But for those with big heads, you might want to look at a set with more adjustment potential.

3 out of 5 eggsLet Windows update handle it

Pros: Inexpensive, plenty of volume, flexi-mic bends and moves well.

Cons: Large lobes get clipped, drivers for Win-64 on included mini-CD are horrible

Other Thoughts: Allow Windows update to take care of the driver install - avoid the outdated installer from the CD or Rosewill website. It gets all goofed up by UAC and, if you do manage it get it installed, their driver crackles and distorts while the Microsoft driver plays cleanly (though you do lose their sound app, actually having working SOUND trumps whatever the software could bring to the table),

4 out of 5 eggsnot bad for 20$

Pros: Very good sound for what I was expecting, great base and great clarity not sure how long they will last tho, installed drivers almost immediately

Cons: I didn't quite want it on usb cause I wanted to utilize my sound card, but that's my fault

also doesn't have any noise cancellation, and they don't squeeze the head at all, probably have to ghetto it and get a head band to wear around them to seal in the noise.

Other Thoughts: all in all, awesome for 20$ wouldn't spend a dime more tho

1 out of 5 eggsPlugging in device first time, windows fails to install default drivers, rosewill software can't detect it

Pros: Packaging was easy to open.

Cons: Device hasn't worked yet... simply trying to get it to install the drivers or emit a sound. I plug the device in, Windows 7 tries to install the default drivers, it fails. Run the software on the cute little mini disc, and it can't detect the headset.

I've searched all over google trying to find someone that had the same thing happen, maybe there's a solution... but can't get anything worthwhile to pop up.

Other Thoughts: Completely useless thus far... really need a new headset, and naturally their customer service hours are all crazy inconvenient and west coast. I just want a product that works. Will try and figure it out for a few more days, and then set up an RMA worst case.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,
Does windows know that its been plugged in? If you check the device manager, do you have any question or exclamation points in there? Try another USB port to see if you get the same issue. Also, are you able to try the headset in another computer to see if it does the same thing? Please contact the Rosewill support team via email at techsupport@rosewill.com so that we can assist you with your issue.
Thanks,
Rosewill Customer Care
