3 out of 5 eggsWorks, but...

Pros: The webcam works, picture is pretty good (but see below), price point was right. Innovative design, can sit nicely on the desktop or hang over the monitor (doesn't clip, simply rests, I like that)

Cons: In low light (and sometimes when focusing) the picture shows a blue haze or halo from the LED mounted directly under the lens. The light really shouldn't bleed into my video.

Other Thoughts: I received this camera last week, am disappointed about the LED issue mucking up my picture, came to write a review and find it is now out of stock/deactivated. Wish I could get a replacement that didn't have the LED issue.

1 out of 5 eggsWorst Quality Ever

Pros: Came free with keyboard

Cons: Flipped open the stand and the plastic surrounding the screws broke off. Bad webcam resolution too.

3 out of 5 eggsNothing great

Pros: Pretty good video quality.

Cons: Terrible sound, You have to adjust the volume to 4 from 100 to have it sound right. The cord length is very short.

Other Thoughts: Don't budge the webcam, it'll create a nasty scratchy sound.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for Skype

Pros: Nice price, great picture, simple to install. It easily adjusts to 'hang' on a monitor or stand on a flat surface.

Cons: Short cable, at least for my setup.
The cable is about 3 feet long (approx. 91-92cm)

Other Thoughts: I got this webcam just for Skype and it works great.

This webcam does work with Win7 64bit. I plugged it in, windows installed it's own drivers, I loaded up Skype and it works fine.

Auto-Focus works, but I personally do not like it. It pauses or lags the video a moment while it is focusing, I tend to move around a lot which makes it focus quite often so, I disable it within Skype. Simple fix.

1 out of 5 eggsAudo focus does not work, not usable

Pros: compact, nice build, and place on a table, or on flat screen. USB cable will be short if you can't have usb on the flat screen.

Cons: the webcam is not usable. auto focus not not work for me.
I take risk because of this low review. however, it is really a bad webcam, not recommended for $20

Other Thoughts: I will call rose-will or new-egg for a replacement. Maybe this product is defective

1 out of 5 eggsDoesn't work with Win7 64bit

Pros: Nice picture with supplied Arcsoft software but downhill from there

Cons: It does not work with Win 7 64bit, Sad to say the description at Newegg didn't mention this. SO it's a total waste of money to me. Neither Skype nor Windows Messenger recognize the camera even though it's shown in my hardware. It will show a video with the included arcsoft software but even then only some of it's features work. The rosewill website is of no help either. It's hard to locate the item there and even then there is not much info or driver choices.

1 out of 5 eggsOh man. Did I get hookwinked?

Pros: I was all excited that Newegg was finally selling (according to their own "overview": 1920x 1080 pixels@ 30 fps 1080P HD 1280x720 pixels @ 30fps 720P HD) a full 1080p/30frames webcam at a decent price through Shellshocker introduction. But -- 5 hours after ordering, I wonder if I may have been deceived by Newegg exaggeration. Hear me out now, I promise to be fair...

When you think 1080p, you expect 1920x1080 pixels at 30 frames/second, right? That's what I think of too, and my expectation of "2.0M pixels" to be 2,073,600 pixels (1920*1080), not anything less -- Like 1,920,000 pixels.
(read below)

Cons: But -- 5 hours after ordering, I think I may have been deceived by Newegg exaggeration. I just checked (at 1AM) clicked on the on Manufacturer Product Page from the product details tab, then searched the product model, then clicked on specifications, and Rosewill's own web page clearly says:

>>> Image Sensor: 1600 x 1200 pixels, CMOS <<<

Would it be so hard to put this spec in the product description so perspective could decide?
Clearly, 1600*1200 = 1,920,000 pixels is not "2.0Mega pixels".

Other Thoughts: I want to give the benefit of the doubt to Newegg & Rosewill the benefit of the doubt, and do the right thing to step up and do the right thing -- if it's their mistake, to make it right. I wanted to buy a webcam that according to the Feature description: "Support Full HD 1080P". If this item doesn't do it, they should allow me to return this thing un-opened on their dime, or send me a genuine "Support Full HD 1080p" webcam.

If this webcam has a 1920*1080 CMOS Sensor, let them step up and clarify and I would be happy to keep this item when it arrives.

I am rating this product 1 egg based on the above. I hope the readers will make fully informed decisions base on Facts, and not be potentially misled.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,
That was actually a misprint on our site and we have corrected that. This webcam will support 1080p and I have attached a screenshot that I got from one of my engineers using this webcam showing a resolution of 1080p. We do apologize for the confusion and I can assure you that this webcam will support the full HD resolution of 1920x1080 (1080p). If you have any other questions or concerns, please contact the Rosewill support team either via phone at 800-575-9885 or via email at techsupport@rosewill.com.
Thanks,
Rosewill Customer Care
