1 out of 5 eggsMic Broken, like many others

Pros: The headset sound works, and is decent.

Cons: Mic broke after about 6 months, no sound comes out of it any more just some static. Its the wire in the headset I'm guessing because it works if i plug it straight into my pc. Was not used roughly at all still looks brand new, so it looks like a manufacturing issue.

Other Thoughts: Don't think i have a warrant anymore so its pretty lame

4 out of 5 eggsGood headset and support from Rosewill

Pros: Good audio quality in general and the surround sound is awesome in-game, especially when set to 7.1. The rumble feature is a nice touch. Comfortable and pretty descent construction quality. Has a detachable mic. Excellent support from Rosewill, and the price was very reasonable

Cons: 1. I had some issues setting it up on Windows 8.1: the included drivers don't seem to be compatible though the ones from their website do run if you go through a few folders..the main setup application didn't. After a while of playing with windows' device setting I got it working.

2. The mic I received was defective and I had to plug in a spare I had lying around. Rosewill's support was very helpful and sent me a replacement for free.

Other Thoughts: I really do like this headset, despite the few issues I've had. Rosewill is a good company and the headset itself is very good. I'd really like to see them release a less problematic driver, but for the price you can't really go wrong.

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad

Pros: Sounds nice... one of the better sets of headphones I've had. The microphone is actually pretty nice. Since it's USB-based, I'm not limited by the often lousy onboard sound hardware on most motherboards. I had been using an analog headset for Office Communicator, and coworkers complained I was sending out a constant noise from my mic.

I'm even using the headset for doing video narrations... so far, I think i like it better than setting up an expensive microphone we have in the office.

I though vibration was just a dumb gimmick... but listening to music with it, it does actually enhance the experience. I haven't used it to watch any explody action films yet, but I bet it will do well there, too.

Cons: First con is the large awkward control box on the headphone cord. I wish they had put a clip on it or something. it always seems to be catching on something... the edge of the desk, the arm of my chair, etc.

I've found the microphone (more accuratly, the microphone device driver?) to be a bit finicky under Windows. First, I had to actually install Rosewill's drivers, then wander around the config settings, until I found a place that seemed to indicate that the mic was turned off by default. Not helpful. I enabled it, and it seemed to work for a while. Later, programs started telling me that the mic hardware was disabled. After futzing with it, I finally pulled it out of the front panel connector and plugged it into a USB port right on the motherboard. That seems ot have done the trick and it has worked solidly since then. Hopefully that continues to be the case.

Other Thoughts: I've gotten it to work quite well with Ubuntu Linux. At first it was stuck on just being stereo. I came across a page on the Ubuntu community wiki about surround sound that suggesteed editing the /etc/pulse/daemon.conf file and changeing the default channels from 2 to 6. After doing that, the audio control panel crashed ;). But when it came back up... it allowed me to set the headphones as 5.1! Hurray! Not that I really have much use for surround sound in Linux at the moment...

2 out of 5 eggsMixed impressions

Pros: Vibration is fun, I missed that feature coming from consoles, but see con.

Sound quality was decent.

Cons: The vibration can be really strong or kind of weak. Not to mention the vibration on the right stereo speaker was stronger.

Headset disconnects about every 3-5 minutes, literally unplug then plug it back in to get it to momentarily work.

Had multiple people complain about my mic, either from me sounding like a robot, or picking up my headsets audio (I honestly don't have my headset loud either).

Headset is REALLY heavy. At first I felt like I had to strain my neck just to support it. After a while it felt normal.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This headset sounds phenominal with more-or-less crisp sounds (although that might be biased, if that's the right word, because I haven't had very many headsets to listen to.) It's easy to install although not plug-and-play if you want some of the features. The Vibrations have a low and high setting which make explosions, engines, and fly-bys of Helicopters and Planes sound great. The drivers allow for the typical sound modification, 'rooms', et cetera. The in-line controller has basic settings including speaker mute and volume change (though windows), and mic mute, as well as the vibration settings on the side. The price is wonderful considering other 5.1 - 7.1 headsets.

Cons: The virtual 7.1 surround is not always accurate, at times it sounds like a gunshot to my front-right came from my back-right, et cetera. (Just use 5.1). While the drivers are easy to instal, they're not very visually appealing and are somewhat clunky to handle. On top of this, do NOT expect to use the vibrations while in Teamspeak, Skype, or some other VoIP program with your friends. The vibrations will go through the mic and come out garbled and anoying on their side. (Could be a revenge tool, though?)

Other Thoughts: For the price, the headset is great. Not having the vibrations on doesn't really bother me and seems more like a movie-night-on-the-PC kind of deal, not playing with friends. Sticking to 5.1 is probably the best bet for accurate gaming.

2 out of 5 eggsBad Mic

Pros: Phones sound great and are fairly comfortable

Cons: Mic started shorting within 4 months of use. Short RMA period.

Other Thoughts: Good price and sound, poor quality workmanship. I would go with something else in retrospect.
