4 out of 5 eggsBetter than most - 3.5 eggs if it was possible.

Pros: - Sound quality is pretty great.

- The vibration was not nearly as gimmicky as I thought it would be, it added an extra level of "boom" when listening to music to drown out the loud annoying kids. Although just on level 1, level 2 is just too much.

- Being able to remove the mic is great so I don't have to worry about it being damage when not using it.

- Really well constructed and solid (although the plastic likes to squeak)

Cons: - The control box is a little on the low(or high depending on how you look at it) on the cord. It's not low enough to place it on the desk so it won't fall when you sit back and it's not high enough to easily grab it and adjust the volume, you have to "fish" for it. Placing it on your lap is about all you can do to know where it is and not have it falling around.

- It's not circumaural, I know this seems like a stupid thing, since it never pretended to be, but if it was it would make this the best headset I've ever owned.

- The software to adjust settings and equalizer options is just...clunky and awkward. Of course the only other audio software I can compare it to is Logitech, but they have a nice layout and easy to use interface.

- Now to why it's a 3 1/2 egg-er. I wear glasses, and since the cups are "on the ear" the band causes the cups to basically crush the tops of my ears onto the the portion of the glasses that go over the top of your ear. After about 20 to 30 minutes it becomes incredibly sore making me have to adjust the glasses, or the headset. Now this may not be JUST the tension of the headband, but also the cushion thickness? But either way, if you have glasses with relatively thick earpieces, be cautious, if you plan on using this headphone for more than half an hour, you might be in for a world of discomfort or outright pain.

Now this might seem pretty harsh to drop these headphones 2 eggs because they hurt my ears, but since I use headphones exclusively for my computer's audio (no speakers at all) I wear them all the time. And "extreme comfort" is one of the points discussed in the overview of the item. Wearing a headset for 20 to 30 minutes at a time before you need to adjust something isn't exactly "extreme". Any person who plays games on the PC will be playing more than 30 minutes for sure.

Other Thoughts: - Wish it was "around the ear" (circumaural)
- Thicker padding on cups, or less tension on the headband
- Better placement of the control box

**Glasses wearers**
- Be aware that this may cause some pain over time, as little as 20 minutes in my experience.

All in all, these headphones are great, the sound quality, increased "bass" from the vibration, removable mic, solid construction and being able to mute all sound and mic from the control box is great.

1 out of 5 eggsShoddy circuitry construction...

Pros: Vibration can be toggled on and off.
Capable of emulating 7.1 surround rather flawlessly.
Surprisingly high quality/clarity microphone.
Nice, long cord.
LED indicators on the control box to let you know if you've accidentally muted yourself.

Cons: Initially, I thought that the 3 of these headsets I had bought (one for me, one for my boyfriend, and one for our friend) were all dying off because of a Windows 10 incompatibility. But that turned out to be nothing more than coincidental timing. My boyfriend opened mine up today after multiple failed attempts to contact Rosewill and found some shoddy design elements on the circuit board inside the control box on the cord (that little box pictured with yellow buttons). Basically, the wires within the cable are somewhat loosely bound, and can snag and pull away from the circuit board despite the nice rubber pull-stops at each end of the box (which does a good job of keeping the outer sheathing from moving too much, but doesn't do anything to stop the wires inside). The reason I've titled this "shoddy circuitry construction" however is because the leads on the USB half of the board are all surface mount instead of through-hole, so when the V- lead pulled free from the board, it took a fair bit of the copper track with it. Rosewill settled on surface mounting these leads because the other side of the board contains the LEDs I discussed on the in the "pros" section. Had they simply made the board 3mm longer and done through-hole mounts on the leads instead of surface mount, I'd still have a working headset that I rather liked. But out of the 3 of these I bought, all three are now dead, and my boyfriend's "autopsy" of the two that aren't currently in landfills yielded the same result each time. This product just wasn't engineered to last, and given the price, that's an absolute travesty.

2 out of 5 eggsGood audio wise. Bad Microphone.

Pros: Very good audio and very good vibration function.

Cons: At some points I can hear some audio mess ups and the mic makes my voice sounds like it's going through a bad voice changer.

5 out of 5 eggsEasy setup and they work great

Pros: There is simply nothing I don't like about them, the remote isn't heavy, they don't pickup em interference. I can't say enough about them.

Cons: they may be a tad heavy but even on long sessions of 4 to 6 hours they aren't bad.

Other Thoughts: It looks like they quit making these. this is hands down the best set of gaming headphones I've ever owned. and that the price point I don't know how you could beat them. For sure I would buy these again....in fact that's how I found out the quit making them, I wanted a second pair for the wife.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat sound quality.

Pros: It easily fits with no problem, sounds great, everything is adjustable on a small and sleek built in controller, vibration is nice.

Cons: After a little use, it starts to hurt. The cushion could be a thicker and make more room for people with bigger ears. Also, if you use voice chat, you'll have to keep vibration off because it tends to give a lot of feedback on their end.

Other Thoughts: Good quality for the price. I would and have recommended this to others.

1 out of 5 eggsComfortable and would be great...if it worked.

Pros: I found this headset to be very comfortable to wear.

Cons: Wiring is poor- there is something wrong with the connections between the volume etc adjustment box and also the wire running from the ear. Anytime I use it, it is prone to cutting out or worse, giving anyone I am playing with a huge headache because of static and other noise. I don't even use the vibration feature of it and I have these problems. Started within a couple weeks after I began using it (around xmas) and has gotten steadily worse. The in-line controls also seem to get randomly hit, and I have to unplug then plug in the headset again to reset everything.

Other Thoughts: If the issues surrounding the functionality were resolved, I would give this a solid 5 stars. As it stands right now, I would say save your money and buy something that has a better rep. When I bought them, I was hoping that the poor reviews were just occasional flukes, but they're not.

5 out of 5 eggsStill using them

Pros: They are still working after all these years

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I bought these years ago, but Newegg has lost my order history for them so I don't know how long it's been. I also had Tritton 5.1 surround with 8 driver vibrating, but those have also been deleted from my history. The Tritton has a decoder amp box and optical connection to the sound card. They stopped working after I dropped them too many times, so I bought the Rosewill. I don't know why they stopped making them since they are great. Recently though I have stepped on the cord a few too many times and pulled the wires out a little, and need a replacement pair. I emailed them and they want photos and my invoice which I do not have since Newegg deleted it. I found some used ones online that had been sent back in the box. There were also new ones but the price was ridiculous. The one place that had new ones at the original price got damaged before shipping and had to cancel the order.

I think I did a review for the Trittons. It was difficult to get them working with Dolby. Had a lot of buttons and options for surround, whereas these just plug into the USB and uses its own sound card. No difference noticed between USB and optical cords. I don't buy the ullbisht that others say 8 drivers are worse than 2 huge ones. I can easily detect which drivers are working for surround, and using virtual surround with 2 drivers is stupid. There is 1 set of headphones on the market with 10 drivers, but ishtty bass. The vibrating feature in these is fun and better.

3 out of 5 eggsVibrating headphones

Pros: Great Sound
Great Mic
Comfortable

Cons: Mic cover fell off practically right away.
Stopped working after 5 months.

Other Thoughts: These are one of those things you didn't know you needed until you had it. The only thing I would change (but im not sure if it is possible) would be to have a headphone jack as well. I know it needs the USB to power the vibrations.
UPDATE: The headphones stopped working after 5 months. Ive tried to get a hold of Rosewill customer support but they wont respond to my emails. Had to drop to 3 stars because of this.
