4 out of 5 eggsPerfect as a 2nd set of headphones

Pros: Not superb, but very good sound for the $$
Rich bass without distortion
Pretty sturdy
Solid connection/port
Pretty light (considering the size)

Cons: A little bulky
Not noise cancelling

Other Thoughts: I got these as a throw in with the purchase of a computer, considering the price that I would have had to pay for them, I would say these are a good pair of headphones for someone who feels that 'Beats' are for kids and Bose' are for people with money to burn. I would recommend these for someone who might own a higher end set, but needs an extra set.

5 out of 5 eggsgood deal

Pros: Perhaps most importantly, they look great. They are also comfortable and dampen a good amount of outside noise without having to resort to active noise cancelling. Like a lot of similar headphones, they sound good but not amazing. They won't sound like a $5,000 home theater, and their bass isn't comparable to a car subwoofer, but they are plenty enjoyable when listening to music. The bass is better than most headphones, the high's are not harsh, and the sound is clear. Yes, they are 5.1 surround headphones as well, but you can't expect miracles. They are better than stereo headphones at this effect, but are not perfect.

Cons: I wish there were more colors to choose from, such as blue. Also, I had hoped to use these for gaming, but found them somewhat fatiguing for this purpose, especially with the bass turned up. In my opinion these are better for music.

Other Thoughts: These handily beat the competition for $300 less.

1 out of 5 eggsFalling apart, and no surround sound!

Pros: 1) Sound quality: The first time that I used these to listen to music, I heard a piano in the background of a song - that I had never heard before. The sound quality with these is the best that I've heard in any headphones; They allow you to hear background instruments, individually!

2)Outside noise canceling (I can't hear someone talking from 6ft/~2m away when they are fully covering my ears).

3) No noise leakage while being worn.

4) 3.5mm connector... I should have realized that it doesn't support true multi (>2) channel surround sound, but being a Rosewill fan, I bought these without much thought.

5) Removable cables

6) Mic works well.

Cons: 1) No surround sound! These are stereo headphones! Rosewill doesn't even provide the necessary software/DSP to convert surround sound to binuaral audio!

2) Cheap plastic! These have been used daily, indoors only, never over-stretched while putting them on, never dropped! However, after 1 month: the plastic headband developed several cracks. I didn't notice however, until a piece of plastic from near one of the hinges fell-off onto my shoulder! Funny, considering that I never even fold them up! After 3 months: the inner-top padding piece broke off on one side!

3)They need a long break-in before sounding their best. I think that it took around 4 months before the sound stopped improving (not necessarily a con).

4)Tight fit. It wasn't until pieces began falling-off of the headband that these began to feel comfortable on my head for long periods of use ( say > 45min at a time). I have a size 71/2 head - by no means overly large.

Other Thoughts: I originally came here to buy another of Rosewill's awesome, true surround sound, vibration, RHTS-8206's (I gave my first one away - and made a new Rosewill fan in the process), but saw this newer, more expensive, Rosewill headset, and so, blindly trusting my past experiences with Rosewill/Newegg (Rosewill brand is Newegg's home brand) bought these instead.

I believe they were $70 here at their launch, $50/$60 elsewhere through Rosewill online shops, on various sites (one of which is where I got them); and currently $68 here, and $50 'elsewhere'.

I've bought many Rosewill items here on Newegg, and this is the first time that I've been disappointed, and the first time I've bought a Rosewill item that used deceptive advertising... I've never seen headphones listed with "precise audio positioning" & "surround sound" before that don't have true 6-9 channel surround sound!

Along with just being the newer, more expensive, "surround sound" Rosewill headset, the Sonas' frequency response down to 5Hz was also major factor in getting these over another pair of RHTS-8206's. After the 50mm drivers fully break in (3+ months), the bass on these sound incredible & undistorted. They do get into the infrasound range (<20Hz is inaudible to humans -> felt, not heard), but to get all the way down to 5Hz you would probably have to have the volume maxed out... The RHTS-8206's, on the other hand, are only rated down to 20Hz with their 40mm drivers. However, they come with a vibration feature that allow you to truly experience infrasound with headphones!

I tried writing a review (at the Rosewill online store that I bought them from) after the padding-piece broke @ 3 months, but I guess that review was rejected... and then I must have forgotten about it, and at 5 months in/owned, I hope that I'm not to late...

Maybe it's just a problem with the first batch, and low-quality plastic. In which case, I hope that Rosewill/Newegg will send me a replacement pair. Otherwise, I'll be looking into how to return these.

Unless you really need the 3.5mm connector, the older RHTS-8206 headset (USB connector) is easily the better deal (especially when they are @ $35/$45/$55/...). I wish that I would have just bought another RHTS-8206 headset instead!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: + The ability to fold the headphones and that it uses a removable cable are a big plus for me.
+ Great for replacing ear buds that keep breaking on you
+ The sound quality for music is very nice; however there is a little heavy on bass as mentioned (pro/con).
+ The included array of cables (mic, no mic, mic extender)
+ Seem moderately durable, but still made of plastic.
~ For $80+tax it is a good deal (even better if you were looking for the above qualities)

~ They are not sound proofing but will block out most higher pitches when used
~ They don't leak any noticeable sound when being worn (at an appropriate sound level)

Cons: - I have been using a pair of Tritton (true surround sound) headphones, and there is a noticeable difference (for the worse), however I have not used many stereo HP's for gaming. They are still very nice sounds, but noticeably different.
- For long periods of use, the cushioning on the head band becomes bothersome. There is very little cushioning on the top.
- They ear covers become uncomfortably warm if you are in above room temperature(or extended periods of time)

Other Thoughts: They are a good pair of headphone if you are willing to invest a little bit. They sound quality should not disappoint you (although I do not consider myself an audiophile). They are great if you are wanting to use them for pick-up and go, or simply one task. They will become uncomfortable after a long enough time (hours), but are comfortable until then.
All in all, I feel for the price it was a very reasonable purchase, as long as they last their time

I haven't tested the mic attachment other than switching through songs, so at least that part works.

4 out of 5 eggsQuite Good Headphones

Pros: The Headphone has quite a cool design, and the bass is just incredible. The sound level is quite good, but when I compare it to my Skullcandy, its quite deficient (in terms of the volume intensity). I was impressed with the bass, I never expected this headphone to be such good at it, yet i think its a bit overpowered.

Cons: The overpowered bass sometimes disappointing to me when hearing classical music, yet I have noticed that with time, the clearness of the acoustics and vocals are better. The plastic design makes it look at bit cheap.

Other Thoughts: Dont let the material decieve you, the headphones are really good for the price.

3 out of 5 eggsRosewill Octadrive Headphones

Pros: These headphones look good & appear shiny. They are over-the-ear headphones (for me anyway) but ear/head size will be the determiner on whether or not people will have that over-the-ear headphone feel. Also, these headphones do have "adjustable metal over plastic bands," that shouldn't break easily down the road (this is different from the main plastic band however). Then again, there is soft cushioning along the main band for comfort (headphone padding is well done) and the driver software seems to be well-designed (no signs of fading/cackling). Plus, these headphones don’t require additional apps for the surround sound functionality (and Wii U owners may take that capability into interest as my curiosity did). The headphones are also compatible with a variety of devices with detachable 3.5mm cables (yes, the cables can be disassembled from the headphones) which can help protect the headphones from becoming monotone because of soldered cable strain/stress. For sound, these headphones distribute great highs (trebles) at low-to-high volumes. As for the lows, (the bass) will be better distinguished at higher volumes but the lows can be still heard at lower volumes if you listen carefully. Then again, I also couldn’t make out any sound leakage but be prepared for leakage just in case. Finally, the inline mic picks up sound relatively well (no complaints about background sound) but the inline mic seems to be sensitive to room-pitched volume in order to be heard.

Cons: Only offered in black (headphones smudge easily). The main band is plastic and that could be a liability in the long run if the plastic band snaps (but these can be fixed using gorilla glue because the main band of these headphones seems to have enough thickness to support that). On another note, these headphones may also get a little uncomfortable after a few hours depending on what you’re doing/etc (sweating and having to lift a phone off of your ear). However, the biggest concern/problem is actually the “design” of the inline mic cable. The inline mic provides audio only through both ears when the connection is distributed correctly and that is not easy to do. I used an adapter to work around the problem but now the “tip” of the angled 3.5mm inline mic plug gets stuck (I have to use pliers to get it out and then jam it back into the angled connector again). I can confirm that the inline mic has audio output problems from the start (regardless of what device you are using). Then again, adapters can fix the monotone temporarily but it takes a lot of connecting and disconnecting (at different degrees) to fix the issue but that further deteriorates the plug anyway because you are connecting and then disconnecting the plug over-and-over again). To make matters worse, if the angled inline mic plug is turned or bumped (you get the annoying monotone effect again). The left ear has no output audio then and you can only hear out of the right ear. I have average knowledge and conclude that the flaw is either the 3 rings of the angled 3.5mm connector (which is for mic compatibility) or the problem is that the 3.5mm plug is poised at 90 degree angle instead of the vertical design found on all the other connectors.

Other Thoughts: I’m just disappointed in the inline mic flaw. I could post a video to show the problem but I decided against it. I now wonder if Rosewill will offer a different design of inline mic cable that maybe some people like me could buy or something. In conclusion, I decided that the inline mic cable must have a design flaw. Everything else is just passing with flying colors. Yet, I just love the sound that these headphones can produce without having to get other software elsewhere... I just wish the inline mic wasn’t so uncomfortable to use and I would rather pay an additional amount for another inline mic if Rosewill decides to design a different one. I'll manage with what I bought but it's very disappointing that I can only hear out of one ear whether talking to someone on the phone or gaming with that inline mic.

4 out of 5 eggsVery Impressive Headphones for the price.

Pros: Deep Bass, good sound stage, they sound noticeably clearer than other headphones I've used in the same price range.

Brings new life to songs you've already heard. The bass and mids in songs are very and clear with these headphones. I have heard some instruments in songs that I never noticed while using other headphones.

Cons: Might be uncomfortable for some people. After a few hours they began to hurt my ears. It took some trial and error to get the right adjustment on the headband.

I feel they need to be "burned in" because the bass sounded very overpowering out of the box. After several hours of some frequency sweeps and bass heavy music, I noticed a very significant improvement.

The surround sound seems misleading, it's simply not possible to transfer 5.1 surround over the 3.5mm jack. While they are better than just having two speakers, there really isn't a whole lot of "surround." However for what it is, it's still very good. If you want a better surround effect, look around for a DAC for headphones that supports Dolby Digital.

Other Thoughts: Had these for over a month now and am very satisfied with them. I disliked how they sounded out of the box, but now I can't use any of my other headphones because these sound so much better.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Quality !

Pros: I'm not really an audiophile, but the sound quality those thngs have are really excellent ! Quite the upgrade from the Rosewill RHTS-11004 I've been using for a year and a half. In my new pairs the sounds are well balanced and the bass doesn't seem overpowered.

The comfort is also top notch, my entire ear can fit into these headphones with no problem and I don't feel irritated by wearing them.

If you want excellent quality without spending 200+, I think those are the ones. Rosewill is the bang for the buck.

Cons: None, I can't find one.

Other Thoughts: I just got those in and by the lack of reviews I had to write one.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat headphones

Pros: Let me start off by saying I'm not a headphone snob or need $400 ones. I bought these to replace my lost ear buds. These look, feel and sound identical to BEATS just at a $59 price tag.

I use primarily for the gym but have used for gaming on my PC as well. ZERO ISSUES.

Packing and everything is top notch. Highly recommend this product. You will not be disappointed.

Cons: ...nothing. They aren't wireless?
