3 out of 5 eggsMore or less what was expected: $20 = 6 months of heavy use

Pros: Everything worked great (until it didn't). Did everything it was supposed to. Was easily installed on all PCs.

Cons: After 6 months of usage (by a 4 and 6 year olds), I have declared both controllers dead. The first one went maybe a month ago - and just refused to be recognized by any PC. The second one stopped registering buttons earlier this month.

Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for. 20$ for 2 controllers will buy you low/mediocre build quality, but at that price point, you might as well treat it as a rental.

4 out of 5 eggsA good bargain

Pros: 1) Build quality is top-notch, yes - they are *just* as well built as playstation or xbox controllers.

2) They work 100% as expected.

3) They work with linux as well as FreeBSD (I use qjoypad to assign key / button mapping).

4) There is no rumble.

Cons: 1) The action buttons on the face of the controller just next to the right analogue stick feel too close to the stick.

2) You will more than likely have to remember to use the "mode" button to get it to work with your game.

3) There is no rumble.

Other Thoughts: They come together as a pair in a blister pack. This is the kind of packaging that usually requires a chainsaw to crack open. They come black and blue. I don't know what happened to them that they are black and blue. Nevertheless, you need to hurry up and decide which one you will be using and which one you need to hide for backup, because if your friends know about this backup, they will want to "borrow" it. What manner of evil scheme is this! (they never warned me of this dilemma.)

3 out of 5 eggsReview 2

Pros: Look for Anna O. for previous information.

Cons: Look for Anna O. for previous information.

Other Thoughts: Some changes I need to make. I've come to realize three issues with the analog sticks. Very annoying.

ONE: The dead zones are actually huge. As in almost half of the sensitivity area does thing. The sticks are very resistive so you can deal with it, but it's there.

TWO: Angle snapping. It's still a true analog stick, but it, for some reason, likes to snap to up/down, left/right, and diagonals. Like it's trying to imitate the analog sticks on the gamecube, only it does it with everything you use the sticks in.

THREE: On the RIGHT stick, there is a zeroed in 50% sensitivity on the left and down axis. The effect of this means that on the right stick the dead zone is shifted, more control for the left and down area, and less for the right and up area. This combined with the already large dead zone is very annoying.

In the end, its still fine for the price. But if you need awesome analog sticks, do not get this. If you need functional sticks and an awesome Dpad, get this.

4 out of 5 eggsInitial impressions

Pros: Price. Naturally. It's gone up by about $5 the day after the controllers arrived. But, when I ordered the controllers, it was $14. 68% off. Plus shipping was about 22.50, still cheaper then the markup price. $11 a controller is amazing, assuming it works.

And it does work. Both controllers have no issues, Windows 8.1 picked them up right away, and dolphin emulator works perfect with them. I plugged them both in, played some SSBB with my girlfriend, it was a blast.

The sticks are great, good resistance, aligned correctly, they click in as buttons, and the dead zone is almost nonexistent.

The dpad is easily one of the main highlights of the controller. Rather then using a POV hat, it uses individual buttons. They press easy enough, but still help you avoid pressing diagonals when you don't want to. That's a big problem with 360 controllers. The dpad on here is perfect.

The face buttons all work as usual, though rather close together. I have large hands, but it's honestly not a big deal.

There is NO start and select. The middle buttons are functions of the controller, not buttons.

The shoulder buttons work as usual. But are buttons.

Cons: The shoulder buttons are as I said, buttons. Most other modern controllers use an analog trigger for the bottom set of shoulder controls, but this does not. It's an ok trade off.

Trade off number two is no rumble. But I don't care about that.

Trade off number three is it does NOT support xinput. Perfectly fine for emulators and controller games that are not xbox-to-pc ports. But if it is a PC port there is a good chance this controller will not work. Keep that in mind. Though applications like Xpadder and 360ce can help that problem

Other Thoughts: The controller actually feels pretty solid. I will report back if something goes wrong. So if you see this review, and do not see my name again, it means I'm still good to go.

It's a cheapo controller that actually works well. $11. It's an easy gamble.
