2 out of 5 eggsPlease save your money for a mouse from a reputable company.

Pros: The mouse was great when it worked. All of the buttons could be customized to my liking for M.M.O's and other games that required more than a keyboard could offer. Customization on the physical side of the mouse was adequate.

Cons: The left click, just as many other reviewers have stated, started unintentionally double clicking after 8 months of use. The physical customization of the mouse seems more like a gimmick rather than an integral, or even useful part of the mouses functionality. You can easily find a mouse that costs less, has variable weighting and customization options, better software (every time you want your extra buttons enabled, you have to manually open the program and load your profile), and has the longevity that a gaming mouse should have.

Other Thoughts: I wasn't immediately disappointed with this mouse. It looked unique and I had fun playing with the physical changes to make it my own. The longevity of this mouse, however, is what makes the purchase of this mouse a mistake I will never make again. Judging from the reviews of their other products, it's an absolute miracle that this company can continue to pump out products and sustain themselves. It also shows how much and often they listen to their consumers.

2 out of 5 eggsGood when it works

Pros: Lots of custom buttons and adjustments

Cons: Mouse becomes jittery and unresponsive as if it was a wireless mouse running on low battery.

Other Thoughts: With the mouse randomly locking on the x and y axis randomly, it makes any serious gaming impossible.

2 out of 5 eggsFrustrations

Pros: The mouse does feel great and because of the customization options it can be set to what you want. Which I love. Its very comfortable and the array of buttons are great.

Cons: Honestly this is going to be the second time I am sending this mouse back. Looks like its magic mark is 1 year of survival and then things go bad. the first time it was the left mouse button that would double click on every single click. Now the laser will randomly just switch off. The buttons will still work but the pointer no longer moves. You have to basically unplug it and plug it back in in order to get it to work. Very disappointing.

1 out of 5 eggsAvoid this mouse

Pros: customizable, buttons in useful places, many buttons

Cons: -sensor tracking issues requiring an unplug and plug cycle including driver loading
-left and right mouse buttons are beginning to automatically double click
-some independent tracking

Other Thoughts: For the price, you would expect a mouse that at the very least is dependable. Its likely I would never have written this if the tracking worked and the buttons still had their problems, but the tracking is a HUGE problem. I have lost either axis tracking, sometimes both, and always requires me to unplug/plug.

1 out of 5 eggsSecond guessing myself

Pros: Has been a great mouse for the year i have owned it. I love the feel of the mouse, and the buttons are great, as well as the addon for World of Warcraft (had a few issues with the addon but i worked around them)

Cons: This is where it gets interesting. Despite loving Saitek and the Cyborg name for years, Mad Catz has turned them into complete junk. I own a Saitek Cyborg V7 keyboard that still works swimmingly since purchased in 2008. This mouse only worked for a year, and suddenly all on its own it will decide that it wants to sleep and just shut off completely. I have yet to find a reason why it does this. I thought because Mad Catz had purchased a good company like Saitek, that they could redeem themselves from the previous reputation from their pitiful console controllers, but nope. They have succeeded in making a great name into complete JUNK.

Other Thoughts: Don't bother, there are better mice out there that will work!

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Mouse

Pros: It has been six months since I received this mouse. I wanted to allow time before making any comments. It has been awesome, after I truly got used to the buttons and configuration. It has Plenty of Buttons with multiple profile options through the software. It is easy to switch. I have had no issues with software or mouse. Because of the adjustability of the mouse it fits comfortable in my hand, again had to get used to it.

Cons: I haven't had any problems .

Other Thoughts: It is a great mouse to me and I would purchase again. I think that it has help me in a lot of games and I think it looks cool.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't Bother, Seriously

Pros: Highly customizeable, easily programmable, comfortable. If this mouse functioned properly in even the slightest fashion, I would be absolutely in love with it. Too bad it doesn't work.

Cons: It's a broken, poorly tested/crafted, piece of junk not worth even a fraction of the asking price. The tracking is terrible, impossible to fix, impossible to do the simplest things. Want to click on something? Cursor hops all over the screen. Want to drag and drop something? Cursor hops all over the screen. Want to hover over something? Cursor hops all over the screen. Want the cursor to just sit there and do nothing? You guessed it, it will hop all over the screen. If you do anything with your computer that requires aiming a mouse cursor, such as playing the latest FPS or simply browsing the internet, you will be so incredibly frustrated with this mouse that you will consider asking Mad Catz to cover the cost of the blood pressure medication you didn't need until you made the mistake of thinking such a high-price mouse would at least function in the most basic of basic mouse functions. I have continued to use this mouse for 9 months, because frankly, it's the only one I have now. And every day it gets worse. And every day I think that writing one more negative review on a different site will help me feel better. So far, all I want to do is take a claw hammer and rip out the spine of the person who decided this model was ready for production and sale to the public. Currently, my game of choice is Guild Wars 2, and I cannot even rearrange my flippin' inventory without ridiculous levels of aggravation. Running in the open world, the second I get my camera angle right, suddenly I'm looking straight up in the air, the next I'm looking straight at the ground. Trying to correct the camera angle doesn't stop it from shifting while holding the mouse buttons because, duh, that's how you move and change the camera angle. I'd be better at this game playing blindfolded with a 15 second lag rather than trying to keep up with the way this mouse decides for itself where to "look" which is never in a direction that helps in the game or whatever task AT ALL.

Other Thoughts: To the manufacturer:
Mat Catz, I will NEVER, EVER purchase another product from you. I will NEVER recommend one of your products to someone else. Having never purchased a Mad Catz product worthy of good reviews in the past, I was hesitant to purchase this product even with the recommendation of a (formerly) trusted friend. I should have listened to my instincts and prior experience. If these statements cost me the RMA I submitted earlier, it's worth it to me if I save just one person the total aggravation of using such a decrepit piece of machinery.

To anyone considering purchasing this product:
Don't bother. It's discontinued, so best case scenario is you get the chance to return it before ripping out every last strand of hair from your head and wasting a LOT of time and frustration. Save yourself the hastle and look elsewhere. If you're still thinking of buying this mouse, immediately pour sand/cat litter/potting soil directly into the USB port of your PC, kick the computer case as hard as you can five times in a row, then, without unplugging it, pick up your monitor and toss it from the window directly in front of a moving car. Proceed to bang your head against the wall as hard as you possibly can until losing consciousness. Upon regaining consciousness, repeat this process until the desire for this particular model has been eliminated from your system. Repeat once more just to be sure,

2 out of 5 eggsHuge Pile of KAKA

Pros: AT FIRST you will enjoy this mouse. The response on buttons is great...but we will get into how that became a problem and why you should NEVER BUY THIS MOUSE.

The laser works first....and the adjustable pinky plate and palm are wonderful...

Cons: After a few weeks, the thumb buttons started to fall off. Not one, but all of them.

I sent an RMA to MAD CATZ and after a month finally got a response. They told me to send it it, so I did. They sent me the same mouse, even though I recommended getting the RAT 5 in place of the more expensive mouse.

After another few weeks, the buttons fell off again, so I RMA it one more time. It took them nearly a month to answer this RMA ticket.

I got another MMO7 again from them, then, guess what, the buttons fell off again. At least it was only one this time...but when I went to RMA it once more, they said I didnt have a reciept because they sent me an RMA with no reciept intentionally because they felt another replacement was out of the question.

HUGE A HOLES Mad Catz. You can look up how many people had trouble with this mouse AND Mad Catz via Google.

Also, the laser stopped being very responsive after a few weeks. This was with ALL of the replacements and origional. It wasnt dirty, nor my mouse pad which is made specifically for laser mice (Steel series). It was just garbage!

Bad driver support web page as well, for both firm and soft.

Other Thoughts: DO NOT BUY THIS HUGE WASTE OF MONEY! Bad customer service and bad buttons with a lazy laser makes for a bad time gaming.

3 out of 5 eggsLots of Buttons

Pros: Many mappable buttons, Palm rest is adjustable, has a pinkie rest! Mechanics are well constructed.

Cons: Mouse seems to loose power a reset, then I have to reset which profile it uses. Resetting issues has grown to the point I am contacting madcatz customer service.

Other Thoughts: I use it mainly for work doing CAD work and PCB layout 8+ hrs a day, the ergonomics have helped allot for prolonged use. Too bad there seems to be a loose wire after 8 months. Mice should last years. More eggs if not for reset issue. We'll see how customer service is.

3 out of 5 eggsHit and miss.

Pros: It's a very comfortable mouse and the button layouts are great, the adjustment wonderful and the DPI is more than enough for just about anything.

Cons: Cheap parts/Cheaply made. This is my second product of theirs. This one has lasted me about 8 months now and two buttons are failing on me. The other one was a RAT7 that lasted me a couple years(So that one I'm not really complaining about).

Other Thoughts: I love the product, however I will be going with a different make due to the history of durability I've had with the product. It's a hit or miss kind of thing, seemingly with a lot more misses. I know a few other people suffering the same history with this mice.
