Finally found a mouse that doesn't kill
- Pros: I have digital tendon entrapment syndrome (also called "trigger finger"), which is like CTS, but the restriction is in my palm, not wrist. This is the only mouse I've found, that doesn't require anything from your index finger. The weight of your arm rests on the base, and your thumb works the buttons, so your fingers don't have to bend or move.
- Cons: I've you've got dozens of brand new mouses sitting in a desk drawer, and have paid $500 for cortisone injections, so I would have gladly paid an extra $10 for a little better quality.
- Other Thoughts: The scroll function is useless, but I've got a scroll wheel on my keyboard that I use anyway, so I could care less.
I've been using this mouse for about two months now, and no longer have to get my wife to open (most) jars.
Nothing like it
- Pros: Really does reduce strain by letting the hand take the natural "handshake" position
Allows you to use your large arm muscles, rather than your tiny and fatigue-prone wrist muscles Short learning curve Unlike other vertical mice, it has a handrest, so you can let it take your ar forearm's weight Optical sensor is reliable and accurate
- Cons: No scroll wheel
Slightly less accurate than a mouse, so it takes just a bit longer to use.
- Other Thoughts: I have used these for years. With them, I can mouse for 12 hours a day. Without them, I am useless in a few days. Highly, highly recommended.
my 5th Renaissance
- Pros: When I first felt the symptoms of CTS I panicked and spent lots of money on exotic keyboards, chairs, and mice. For some reason I recovered and these mice are the only non-conventional devices I continue to use.
- Cons: I expect the buttons to become problematic after several years. That's what happened to my other non-optical 3M mice. Sometimes you click on something and do not want to release right away, but it will release anyway. This sucks when you are drag 'n dropping something.
- Other Thoughts: I like using this at work with a conventional mouse at home for gaming. By mixing it up like this your are less likely to succumb to an RSI injury.
