Ergonomic optical mouse earned an Ease-of-Use Commendation from the Arthritis Foundation for its patented, vertical grip design. Vertical grip keeps your hand and wrist at a neutral angle while the mouse works as a regular optical mouse. Unique, ergonomic "handshake" grip design has been clinically proven to reduce muscle strain and discomfort from pressure on the wrist's median nerve. The design alleviates discomfort associated with carpal tunnel syndrome and repetitive stress injuries. Simply grip the handle and rest your hand on the base. Use your thumb to left and right click on the top. Third button on side lets you scroll. Corded optical mouse offers USB/PS2 plug-and-play compatibility, 6-1/2' cord for flexible use, and right-handed use.

5 out of 5 eggsGood ergo and indestructible

Pros: I bought this mouse a little over a year ago after trying various other ergonomic options. This one has worked the best. I would not recommend it for anything click-intensive (gaming) because your thumb may not be able to handle it, but I work in front of a computer all day and it does great.

Additionally, and this is what prompted me to write a review a year later, this thing has got to be indestructible. It doesn't fit on a keyboard tray that's pushed in, and I accidentally push my tray in with it on it (knocking it to the floor) regularly. Still works! Amazing.

Cons: - Takes a while to get used to
- Doesn't fit on a keyboard tray

Other Thoughts: Well worth the cost, but if you can try it first you should.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as described

Pros: This device was successful at reducing pain in my hand due to RSI.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Fine motor control is not as good relative to a standard mouse because you're using your arm instead of your wrist to move the device.

4 out of 5 eggsL=Large, S=Small

Pros: Seems to work as advertised

Cons: The description on NewEgg didn't explain that there is a difference between the two models listed. I should have figured it out, but must have been having a dim day.

The "L" Model is large, for people with hands 3.5-4" across he nuckles. The "S" model is recommend for 2.57-3.5" hands. I mistakenly ordered the "S" for my 4" hands. :(

Other Thoughts: Double check your hand size before ordering!

3 out of 5 eggsIt's ok, but

Pros: Top 'rocker' button is quite nice. Comfortable hold.

Cons: No driver, which is great for simplicity, but you can't calibrate this thing. If I used it for a year perhaps I'd retrain myself, but next to a standard keyboard you either have to hold your elbow up to mouse straight, or mouse off to the right a bit.
Using arm to move instead of wrist kills granularity. I spent way too much time trying to get the pointer right where I wanted it because I don't have the granular control over my arm that I do over my hand.
Obviously, it won't fit on a keyboard drawer.

Other Thoughts: This thing could be great with a few changes.
1) driver. let it run simple w/o a driver, but give us a driver if we want to recalibrate the motion.
2) It wouldn't be easy to mfgr, but how about the stick tilt being a little adjustable.
3) make the rest pad more grippy, then make the stick movable w/ switches, so you mouse with the hand but the stick does more stuff.
4) bigger slide pads.

It is a bit spendy for what you get. It would be worth it if it had some more depth as I've described. I went back to a mouse after using it for a month.

5 out of 5 eggsObviously well designed

Pros: In my work I use a mouse all the time, and my hand was feeling very strained. This mouse has alleviated the strain I felt in my shoulder, wrist, and fingers. I am really happy with it. It's easy to get the hang of the new button orientation, it feels more natural than traditional torture devices, I mean mice. It has an extra scroll button, which makes scrolling easy and takes additional strain off of your fingers.

Cons: It is wired which gets in the way in my rather small workspace. It is also a bit pricey.

Other Thoughts: Does what is it supposed to do, and well.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat mouse.

Pros: No more wrist/hand/finger pain while using a mouse!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: So far this mouse has "cured" my wrist/hand/finger issues while using a mouse. I have a number of wrist injuries which are aggravated by using a mouse ... giving me additional symptoms of carpel tunnel. Switching to this mouse has given me great relief.

5 out of 5 eggsMore comfortable than other mice

Pros: I switched to the 3M Ergonomic Mouse six years ago due to sore hands. I find it more comfortable than the trackballs and tablets I tried, and much better than a normal mouse. I can use the 3M mouse as much as I want, while a regular mouse makes my hand and wrist hurt. The current LED version is perfect, not needing cleaning like the old ball version.

Cons: It takes a couple minutes for a new user to get the hang of this mouse but everyone seems to get comfortable with it quickly. Relatively expensive and big. I wish 3M would sell them cheap and sell millions, the world would be a better place.

Other Thoughts: You move this mouse with the large muscles in your arm, not the smaller ones in your wrist. And you click with your strong thumb, not your weaker index finger. So it is a different feeling but much easier for extended use.
