5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Mouse for Big Hands

Pros: Great Sensitivity, Clean and well-thought out software, Soft touch finish, RGB LEDs to match your color scheme, Nice braided cable,Good amount of buttons that are fully programmable, big glide pads, nice build quality, and of course, very comfortable

Cons: Corner DPI switch button unresponsive at times, Thumb button in a good spot but hard to press. :$

Other Thoughts: If you have small hands this mouse will not be very comfortable.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing for Big Hands

Pros: Great for Big Hands
Comfortable
Lots of Extra Buttons
Programmable DPI

Cons: Color Change is Slightly Funky

Other Thoughts: Just an amazing mouse for large handed people. I am 6'7" and have the hands to go with it and work at a computer all day. This is the ONLY mouse to not create hand pain after a long day in my history of using mice.

FUNC please never stop making these! Probably going to buy an extra one just in-case.

4 out of 5 eggsFUNC MS-3R2

Pros: -Great fit for large hands
-I like the surface/texture
-Thumb buttons are nice
-Software isn't overly flashy

Cons: -My biggest issue I have had was with FUNC's website and the mouse doesn't work half the time on restarts. I have to unplug it and plug it back in for the mouse to appear.

Other Thoughts: Love the mouse but FUNC's website was down and didn't let me apply for the extended warranty. Had to deal with their support.

3 out of 5 eggsAlmost Brilliant

Pros: Great Ergonomic shape, Matte finish, Well placed side buttons

Cons: Mediocre Software, some LEDs are permanently orange

Other Thoughts: The software only let's you change DPI in 90 DPI increments, which is worth an egg in it of itself, as that prevents me from using my preferred DPI of 400. Also, everytime my PC is restarted, i have to go back into the software to set it to the proper DPI, because it changes after every restart. Also, the fact that some LEDs are permanently orange is seriously a pain, and it sticks out quite a bit.

5 out of 5 eggsJust...awesome. BEST mouse for the price, for larger hands.

Pros: This is the mouse that singlehandedly switched me from a claw grip to a palm grip, especially for general computer use. I had the rev 1 version, and loved it - it's still working, but I've had to clean out the primary switches to keep it from double clicking after 6+ months. Anyway, glad they made the revisions they did for this model - the new switches are noticeably better, along with the scroll wheel.

It's an amazingly comfortable mouse - but it's definitely for palm grip users only! Not to mention those with larger hands. The sensor in both revisions worked flawlessly for me, on multiple surfaces (it's an Avago I think, similar to the sensor used in the SteelSeries Sensai, Mionix's, some Roccat's - the Kone+ used one I think). Anyway, no skips or jitters on a Func Surface 1030 r2, but it works fine on a Razer Goliathus and Destructor 2 as well.

Software is clean, simple, and easy to use. The entire product just seems more...sophisticated than most products in this category. I feel like I can set it on my desk in my office and not feel like I have to explain myself. Love the soft-touch finish and the overall shape, along with the customizable lighting and unique, subdued method of showing profile/DPI status (the three orange/white LEDs on the "seam").

Oh, and it stores profiles LOCALLY - as in, on the device itself. No silly cloud drivers to get in the way, no internet connection needed to restore your settings. *This is the way it SHOULD be!*

Cons: The only downside to the settings software that I've found is when bringing your Func MS-3 r2 to a new machine. If you want to change the already customized settings (stored in mouse memory), you'll need to install the settings software - no big deal, but it doesn't detect the customized settings on the mouse, so you'll need to start over. NOTE - your customized settings ARE stored on the mouse, if you don't want to change anything when moving to a new computer you're fine, but if you just want to change one profile's button assignment you have to redo all of them. Not that big of a con - there's a backup and restore function in the software, so you can just import your profile again on a new machine to get around that issue.

Personally, for gaming, I feel the palm grip is inherently inferior for precision.... (braces for flurry of angry responses...) I just can't get the same minute movements from my wrist and palm like I can my fingertips. Still, it's so comfortable... Anyway, that's pretty much personal preference, and with practice it's nothing to worry about.

Other Thoughts: I like what Func is doing with their peripherals. I like their no-nonsense approach to the software and design of their products. I like that they get out of their own way to just let YOU use your computer and are content to blend into the background - that's how peripherals should work, in my opinion. Doesn't hurt that they look great sitting on a desk though, I suppose :) Oh, and the price is better than anything else with these features - especially if you like customizable LEDs. Well done Func!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Mouse!

Pros: Wow. You really can't get a mouse this great for the price. The ergonomic design prevents almost all wrist strain, and the circular button on the side which lowers sensitivity for first person shooters works extremely well.

Cons: It was advertised to be full color changing, which the scroll wheel and left circular button do in fact do (The lighting is very nice, not ultra bright but good) but the dpi mode lights are unchangeable from orange. I ended up shoving a small slit of black plastic to prevent the orange from shining through. Works perfect now! Not going to deduct an egg because of the awesome price.

Other Thoughts: Before I slid the plastic to cover up the dpi orange lights, I contacted customer support. about changing it's color. They dodged my question by sending me a user manual PDF and telling me that that was normal. Oh well!

5 out of 5 eggsBest Peripheral I've Ever Bought

Pros: Amazing construction
good feel
big enough to hold!
does its job
soft touch finish
customizable LEDs
Low branding
excellent buttons

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: This mouse was the best buy I could have made for a mouse! many mouses advertise a list of features, most of which I would never use, and on top of that they are horribly uncomfortable to hold. This mouse on the other hand is simply functional. It's actually big enough for me to hold, which is amazing considering how big my hands are, and the buttons feel crisp when pressed. the customizable LEDs are great, especially since the mouse scroll wheel and steady-aim button can be changed separately, and even set to pulsate separately.the DPI step buttons below the scroll wheel are not in danger of being accidentally pressed, and the DPI steps can be changed in the included software. Over all, I can't see a reason not to love this mouse. If i do, I'll come back and edit this review.

5 out of 5 eggsJust like a glove

Pros: It fits perfectly in my hand and the rubberized coating makes it feel quite premium. The minimalistic design is very attractive and looks better than most gaudy gaming mice.

Cons: The right click seems to require a bit more force than the left one, which does concern me. I play some moba/rts games and that lil bit of extra force does build up and my hand starts to feel archy.

Other Thoughts: Despite the cons, I still give it a 5 star because I think it is the best mouse for me, I just got to break it in like a good pair of shoes and get used to it.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfection

Pros: -Superior ergonomics
-Excellent button layout
-Excellent software

Cons: -only 1 color for the LED's (amber/orange)
-has a large footprint, but not an issue if you are a gamer, or someone who uses a large mousepad.

Other Thoughts: This is simply the best mouse I have ever purchased for my needs as an FPS gamer. I am MERCILESS on my hands and equipment. I break keys. I break mouse buttons. I damage cords. I brutalize computer accessories (as do most FPS gamers worthy of their sport).

Since the mice I used allowed my outside fingers to drag on the mousepad, I built up thick callous on my right pinky and ring fingers. After a while, they also get occasional blisters and small amounts of bleeding. Not good, and not conducive to any type of enjoyment using a mouse.

The only mouse out there with better ergonomics FOR ME is the R.A.T. 7. I loved the feel of that mouse, and how it could be adjust to fit my hand. Absolutely top shelf. However, the quality of the R.A.T. 7's Phillips 'twin eye' sensor was horrendous. That mouse makes lifting off of the mouse pad an exercise in frustration. I have had $10 laptop mice with better quality than that thing. I refuse to keep trying out different surface types just to accommodate a mouse sensor. Lord, whoever chose the Phillips sensor for that mouse should be fired from Mad Catz. But they haven't been (likely promoted in fact), and MC continues to sell the R.A.T. 7 with the same finicky sensor, with the same cheap build quality. So they obviously don't care about what gamers think. Replacing it with an RMA did nothing to improve the input. It is simply a very comfortable, terminator-looking paper weight.

So the MS-3 does everything it says on the tin. It looks like something from Razer without all the gimmicky stickers or paint. They used a solid rubberized no slip coating on the entire mouse. The finger ledges allow me to grip the the thing (using my thumb, ring, and pinky fingers) giving superior control. It completely separates and protects my fingers from the mouse pad (I have medium-sized hands). The dpi is 5670, which is fine for most gamers, and far more than needed for any regular user. Wiring is well-protected with a standard mouse cord length.

This is easily a $99 mouse at half the price. It is EASILY light years better than the fully adjustable R.A.T. 7. I'm pondering buying a second as a backup or for travel to LAN parties.
