Pros: Very good Headset, comfortable around the head. High sound quality perfect for gaming.

Cons: Detachable mic is a pain, month into use mic started failing producing sounds only if i screamed into it. REINSTALL software fixed my issues.

4 out of 5 eggsGood headset

Pros: Light weight, and durable. fits comfortable on your head. the sounds is good. It doesn't seem to like surround sound much and doesn't do very well in games like counter strike for sounds.

Cons: The Mic and the amplifier thing it comes with are trash and broke very quickly, within 2 weeks. As i said it does bad in CSS and TF2 and other FPS games where directional sound is VERY important.

Other Thoughts: Over all a great headset the mic and amp aren't needed at all for it to function. would recommend for gamers as long as you arent play comp CSS or TF2

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Headphones

Pros: Amazing set of headphones, The are going on their third year of service and the just broke (My own negligence). They are comfy on the head for those long gaming sessions and with the detachable cord extension the provide a manageable core for MP3 player use.

Cons: When the cord extension is removed, for a person of my stature, the cord was just a wee bit too short to reach my pocket. Not a big deal but worth noting.

Other Thoughts: SteelSeries really kept the original quality that IceMat had intended.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Gaming Headset

Pros: Great sound quality from the headphones. The microphone pics up clearly. The long cables and really nice (although at times they can get annoying). I like that I can use the headphones separately if needed. And they look really sexy

Cons: Theres a lot of sound bleed when the volume is cranked up, I dont mind it cause it helps drown out whats happening around me, but people around me sometimes complain XP not really a con in my opinion

Other Thoughts: Overall a great buy for any online gamer

5 out of 5 eggsWorks just fine

Pros: These things work as described. And even the mic works like a charm.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I wanna say all these people complaining about them breaking then they must be throwing them around. I've dropped these a few times and nothing is wrong with them. But i dont have kids that beat on them either. So I dont think there's any flaw in the design.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This is probly the best headset I've ever owned. Mic works great everyone I talk to on it says it's like I'm standing right next to them. Headphones fit great especially for long time games like wow, I can wear these for 6 hour's of play easily and still feel comfortable.

Cons: lot of wires, feels likes your conected to your computer.

Other Thoughts: great buy for your money seems to last longer than any other headset I've owned.

5 out of 5 eggsThe best headset and headphones I've ever owned

Pros: - First of all, these things are comfortable. Amazingly "forget you're even wearing them" comfortable. I wear them for several hours at a time and not once has it caused a problem. Better still you don't need to fiddle with headband adjustment.

- Second, they don't block outside sound (as long as you don't have them cranked). It's nice to be able to engage in conversation without taking them off.

- The cord is amazingly long. One can easily traverse a smallish bedroom while still wearing them.

- Sound quality is unlike anything else at this price range. I've owned my fair share of headphones and headsets priced under $100 and these made me feel like I was hearing my music and games again for the first time.

- Durability. I would stop short of calling them 'rugged' and I certainly wouldn't take them outside with an mp3 player, but the filmsy, pliable structure of the headset works in its favor. Rather than resist stress and eventually snap it just bends with the force.

Cons: - The manual volume control (which is basically just a variable resistor) will fail very quickly - this is a common issue amongst just about every headset that features such a thing. I recommend using it while it works, and then just cranking the manual control to full (no resistance) once it starts 'crackling'. That crackling or static people are sometimes reporting is likely a result of this, not any speaker failure.

- The microphone is cheap, and clearly an afterthought of this headset. Mind you, it works and it works well, but it's got a few faults.
- First of all, it's completely bare i.e. there is no muffler (unsure of the proper term), so it picks up any background noise (like computer fans and the like) as well as breathing.
- Second, it has a small on/off switch which I assume is another resistor. This, too, will fail with time and may sometimes cause a slight buzzing in the mic. Fiddling with the switch tends to fix it.

Other Thoughts: One key detail people seem to gloss over when speaking of the microphone is that clipping it to your shirt is probably not the best idea nor the intended design. Instead, clip it to the thick headphone cable that comes out of the left speaker. It actually seems as though it was -designed- to be like this, as the clamp on the microphone opens just enough to get a snug grip on the cord, and it sits at just the right level to pick up one's voice.

I'm largely indifferent about the included USB soundcard. It works - I used it for several months - but it's hardly necessary. It's an improvement over onboard sound but if you have an actual soundcard you shouldn't bother.

I've also got to add the fact that the headset itself looks pretty awesome. I got the white version and it's absolutely gorgeous.

4 out of 5 eggsMic is Questionable

Pros: Very comfortable, and the sound quality's nice. They look pretty cool too (as far as I'm concerned).

Cons: The mic isn't very loud, no matter where I clip it (all microphone boosts on), however, it's nothing that pipe cleaner and duct tape can't fix.

Other Thoughts: Really great headphones, okay mic (if it's by your mouth the sound quality is great).

3 out of 5 eggsGood for awhile

Pros: Great sound, comfort, and working microphone! Unlike others, I have not had a problem using the mic. The sound is fantastic! A nice bass level with excellent surround sound capabilities. Can be used very nicely with gaming or advanced media.

Cons: As stated below, the speakers themselves have started giving out. I believe it's the volume control attached to the cord that is causing the issue. Microphone is holding up but there is no nice place to clip it. It would be nice to see the microphone attached physically to the headset itself.

Other Thoughts: So this is my second pair of the exact same set of headphones. The first pair, broke from dropping it a couple of times and the one I have currently I've had for a year now and it's already going bad. The mic is still in good shape and amplifies well but the left and right headphones are starting to give out, crackle, etc.

5 out of 5 eggsWow they still makes these!

Pros: I have owned the original Icemat Siberian's for about 3 yrs now. We sad to see that they didn't make those anymore but it seems like Steelseries worked out a deal to make these. They've been great over the years. Most comfy headset I've ever worn and I have a big noggin.

Cons: 3yrs and still working. Can't find any con's other than it might be nice to have a boom mic attached vs. a clip on mic.

Other Thoughts: I've put this headset thru 3 long years of gaming/multimedia and they are holding up well. Don't let the reviews telling you these headphones are flimsy scare you off. I think I dropped my headphones onces but I'm always bumping them. They held up well.

These have very long cords to them. They tend to wrap around things like an anaconda. Every once in awhile I need to straighten them out.

Good base, ok mids, highs are ok. Sound quality is excellent. Nice design. Mine are gloss black. No head squashing or ear clamping. Didn't have to break these in. They have been comfy since the first day.
