4 out of 5 eggsabout as expected

Pros: these headsets are really comfortable

Cons: usb sound card is junk, but i expected that

Other Thoughts: hooking straight up to my pc was very disappointing. they had very low volume compared to my 12's. I solved this by hooking them up to an old receiver as a headphone amp. some complained about lack of bass, since i am an fps player that is the reason i bought these. hooking them up to a receiver i actually got some bass out of them, i was surprised

1 out of 5 eggsStay AWAY!

Pros: good headset for the amount of time they lasted (not very long)

Cons: the right headphone blew out on literally the 31st day (because the item is refurbished it has only a 30 day warranty) also the microphone acted up here and there it would make a beeping noise. overall not satisfied and just a waste of money do yourself a favor and pass on these headphones.

1 out of 5 eggsNot worth $20

Pros: Very comfortable.

Cons: USB soundcard just emits a high pitch squel when in use.
In gaming footsteps are just broadcasted through the left cup, sounds are muddled, mic is horrible. I'm not sure if my pair is defective, or if this model is just this horrible.

Other Thoughts: I'm starting to lose my trust in newegg.

3 out of 5 eggsSteelseries Refurbs ...No

Pros: - Pull out Mic
- Comfortable
- Longer cord (detachable as well to adjust length)

They are comfortable, but after a long period of time my ears will start to hurt.

Good sound quality, even before adjusting it.

Cons: Mic - It may be because it's a refurb, but there is high static no matter what I adjust the microphone settings to. I will continue to and see if I can find settings where there is no static and if I do then I'll be sure to change this.

Controls on headset - They appear to have been bitten through by a pet, I know this is a refurb, but I wasn't exactly expecting there to be potential wiring damage. They seem to work find at the moment but it could be what's potentially causing the mic static.

Volume may not go as high as some people like (the max volume is fine for me except when I listen to music on these, but that's what my surround sound system is for).

Other Thoughts: Overall they were great for the price with pretty good audio (although it may not get as loud as some people like). But I don't think I would take the chance and by them again (at least as a refurb) with the mic problems I'm having now.

5 out of 5 eggsThe best headset in this price range

Pros: Comfortable on ears
Retractable mic - the mic works just as well even when it's retracted so that it's not in your way when you're drinking
Feels sturdy
Option of using the usb soundcard
A long extension cord

Cons: These things are comfortable on your ears but heavy on your head.
Refurbished - everything came undamaged and clean though

Other Thoughts: The sound quality is average. I use the usb soundcard and it doesn't seem to make too much difference even when I'm listening to the music. I can't tell the difference at all when I'm playing games.
Although it's refurbished, it's a steal at 20-30 bucks. Get them before sold out if you need a headset with a decent mic.

5 out of 5 eggsSo Comfortable!!!

Pros: Super comfortable and fits over my large ears! I could wear these all day with no pain. The extra wire it comes with is plenty long. Braided cord is always nice! Its loud, and the mic sounds clear to others. You cannot beat the price, specially based on comfort alone.

Cons: usb adapter, causes a high pitch or helicopter sounds in the background that bugs most.

Other Thoughts: My son chewed on my wire, so I cut the wire and had to burn off the color insulation before taping it back up and shrink taping it with 2 layers of shrink tape to be sure. still works like new!

4 out of 5 eggsBest value for the dollar

Pros: Excellent sound, but is more like 5.1 than 7.1. I liked the external USB sound card, it's good if you have a USB docking station. It gives you up to 3 break away points(with the wire extension in box), which is awesome for those of us that have kids that like to pull on things. This head set is amazingly durable the inter woven wire-shield was genius and should be standard for all headsets. The padded ear cups are very comfortable, I have worn them for 12 hrs strait and not even noticed. The retractable mic is another nice feature when you just want to listen to music while web surfing. No distortion, at any volume. Decent user interface.

Cons: It's not true 7.1. But seriously, if you want to keep up to gamers on a budget this is the headset for you.

Other Thoughts: Either way, I you can sound hore like a beast with it. Make sure your TeamSpeak/Ventrillo ect...is turned down or off.

1 out of 5 eggsBad because of design, or because recertified?

Pros: Most comfortable padding around ears I've had in a headset. Cups fit around my long ears and don't cause any pain after wearing for long periods of time. Cable extension is nice, and quality of build seems good.

Cons: The sound is awful. It honestly sounds like the internal speaker of my computer that beeps during POST. Bass does NOT EXIST PERIOD. The treble is a bit muffled, so you mostly hear mid-range. The source doesn't change the sound quality either, as I've tried these on my mp3 player and computer, using all available attachments and ports on the computer. I'm sorely disappointed in these headphones, but maybe that's what I get for buying Recertified. A good number of the retail reviews also seem to say the sound is bad, so maybe these are just that horrid.

Other Thoughts: Headphones primary purpose is for SOUND. These headphones don't produce that well at all, even if they are comfortable. 1 Egg.

2 out of 5 eggsFilthy, and static above 60% output

Pros: Extremely comfortable, mic has good pick up.

Cons: Sounds are distorted, with a lot of static appearing above about 60% volume. Headphones came repackaged (which was expected) but utterly filthy. I'm talking dead skin caked into ear coverings, human hair stuck to them, and dry sky stuck in padding on the top. Had to thoroughly clean them before use.

Other Thoughts: Trying them for a few days before I RMA. The cleanliness or lack thereof is disappointing, but the sound issue is a real concern. Ventrilo chatter is causing distortion; need to try in Skyrim later.
