3 out of 5 eggsLeft wanting more.

Pros: - Decent passive noise isolation (I wouldn't call it noise cancellation because these aren't actively cancelling anything) thanks to the snug fit cups
- Flat cord design prevents a lot of tangles and twists
- Integrated microphone and control switch makes this a very versatile headset for two-way communication
- Good audio quality once you get the right size cups fitted. Otherwise, you will have a complete loss of mid and bass frequencies

Cons: - HORRIBLE MICRO-PHONICS!! (This is the sound transmitted to your ear by mechanical vibrations when the headset cord is making contact with solid object)
- Carry pouch is somewhat small. Have to cram the headset into the pouch which takes is fairly difficult unless you tie-wrap the cord first (no integrated tie-wrap on the cord, so carry a bread-tie in the pouch with you)
- No way to secure the headset to your person or clothing during activities like jogging, biking. Also, not enough cord length from the V split to your ears to allow for looping the cord over your ears

Other Thoughts: I decided to give these a try for a variety of tasks while on the road. The first thing I noticed was the incredible amount of noise transferred from the cord banging around or “micro-phonics.” Typically, headphones will have a shirt-clip or be long enough to wrap the cord around your ear to minimize the effect. Neither was true in this case. Using these headphones while running or riding a bike was almost unbearable, not to mention I couldn't keep them from falling out of my ear regardless of which interchangeable tip I used. The flat cord was a nice feature though, since it minimized tangling. Moving on to music, I’m the kind of guy who believes a good headset will really add to the sound. These headphones did a decent job of noise isolation, which allowed me to hear a decent range of highs and lows.

After making several phone calls, I can say that I had no problem hearing or speaking into the microphone which fell conveniently near my mouth. The callers were sometimes able to tell when I was wearing them and could pick up on the road-noise while driving in my car, but it was not unbearable. Lastly, since these headphones are advertised for “gaming,” I was excited to put them to the test. From the short length of the cord, I can only assume the manufacturer meant they were for gaming on a laptop. Just like when listening to music, the in-ear microphones did a decent job of noise isolation, but that’s about it for the positives.

As an avid PC gamer and music lover, I’ve tried numerous sets of headphones but I confess that I prefer the full sized around-ear headsets. My overall opinion is that if you are going to invest this kind of money and willing to forgo the portability, you’re better off getting a good entry level full-size headset or just stick with using the earbuds that came with your mobile device.

4 out of 5 eggsGood sound, comfortable, easy to untangle

Pros: These produce great sound. I don't want to oversell this, as you can surely get better sound from more expensive over-ear headphones, but for its price range it is as at least as good as some of the expensive in-ear competitors and better than what comes with most phones.

They are also very comfortable. As is expected with any mid-to-high end headset, these come with 3 different sized ear pieces so you can find the one that fits you best. I found the headset to be very comfortable for long listening sessions.

The microphone also worked very well. I took numerous phone calls using the headset and didn't receive any complaints that I couldn't be heard and was not asked to repeat myself.

I cannot agree with the 'no tangly mess' claim. However, this is by far the easiest headset to untangle that I've used. The number of tangles are few, and knots are virtually non-occurrences.

Cons: The headset comes with a mute button for the microphone on the cord, and that's it. If a skip ahead/back button is a must-have then you'll need to look elsewhere.

Other Thoughts: The addition of a carrying case is a nice touch. And, even though I find fault with the 'no tangly mess' claim, I found that when using the case the already low number of tangles were further reduced.

These quickly became my daily headphones.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Sound

Pros: The sound is very good in the mids and highs. Its bass is detailed. The build quality feels very good, and the ear buds are very effective in passive noise isolation with its very tight and deep seal.

Since it features a single connection mic + headphone jack, it will also work out of the box on a DualShock 4 controller (PS4).

Comes with a convenient small storage case, and the cord is really easy to untangle.

Cons: With such a deep and full seal with the ear buds, any subtle movement is very audible as vibration transfers along the cords into your ears. This can be distracting but can be alleviated by minimizing both tugging (when running) and rubbing on clothes.

Other Thoughts: These are good mobile headphones. As I mentioned earlier, you can also use these for your PS4 game chat.

The bass quality is not the greatest but it makes up for it with a clean sound in it, as well as a very rich mid range.

5 out of 5 eggsI like these better than any others i've had

Pros: Sound is great! The packaging is nice. They have a great look. Works with a cell phone for calling. These get pretty loud, I have used a couple cheaper ones before that didn't get very loud. These don't seem to get tangled as easy as as a few others I have had over the years.. which is great as I wrap these and put them back in their pouch. (great for traveling at airports like I do etc..) The overall length of these is good, they have a L and R to tell you which ear they go in. I have used these with a computer, cell phone and tablet and they worked well in all cases. I also like the different sizes for the ear buds. I find the small are best for me. I use these in an airplane and find they do well cancelling out the sound of being in a plane. I like the flat cable on these as well.

Cons: None I have found so far...

Other Thoughts: Order yours today!

4 out of 5 eggsNice !!!

Pros: I always try to review an item only after I have used it a lot and feel comfortable with it. I have got about one month now on these headphones and they did not blow me away but they did stand out. Skype was great with these the sound that my counterpart got from the mic was very very good and the crisp sound of the headphones made hearing them talk very easy and enjoyable. I also liked the small caring case that came with the headphones; they fit in the case nicely and went into my pocket with no issues. The soft caring case was a very nice add on and made me feel like this company really carried about their product lasting for you and your overall enjoyment of their product. My gaming overall rating is high for such a small set of headphones, they do carry a good range of sound; my biggest complaint is the base, you can read about it in my cons. This headphone set comes with a caring case and three sizes of ear buds. If you're going to be using these on a phone to listen to music and talk to people you can't go wrong with them. A good buy for these uses.

Cons: The Mic mute button is small and a bit hard to push; when I was gaming I found that I had to look down to find the button sometimes because it is not raised enough on the dongle to find easily with my limited sense of touch. The non tangle flat cord is also something that just did not feel right to me, it's kind of sticky to itself and keeps a lot of memory in the line itself "if you twist it, it stays twisted for a time". For gaming I like more base and I am willing to have a larger headset especially if I am going to be tied to my PC with a cord. The only real reason I bring this up is that it stated on the box that these are meant to game with so I did. This quote is from the box "gaming headset with in-line microphone + controls".

Other Thoughts: For right around $50 I am on the fence; some of the Bluetooth headsets out there are right in the price range and give you that cord free feeling as they are cord free. If you don't like to worry about charging your headset and don't mind cables you will be happy with these. They are great for on the phone calls and Skype - for this purpose you can't go wrong. Samsung Note 2 Mac Book Air and custom PC.

4 out of 5 eggsNot perfect, but the best I've used.

Pros: These earbuds have great sound quality for their price, the vocals are clear, bass is nice, good mid and highs, etc. I can honestly say these are the best sounding earbuds I have personally used and will easily blow away any free pair you get with your smartphone! They certainly aren't top of the line quality, but you aren't paying top of the line price either!

They come with 3 different ear bud sizings for you to find your perfect fit, the one I used had a snug fit that kept the earbuds in my ear during a jog. The flat cord design has done an amazing job preventing the cords from getting tangled for about 2 weeks now going in and out of my pocket. The earbuds also have a play/pause button on the cord and a built in mic.

Cons: There's a "thumping" sound as others pointed out when the cord gets some movement, going out for a jog with these earbuds is basically impossible due to this issue.

There is no way to skip or play a previous song on the earbuds.

The mic obviously isn't studio quality, but I had complaints from people that they couldn't hear me well, or the sound was crackly especially when jogging which could be linked with the first issue.

Other Thoughts: Overall great earbuds for the price, they just not meant for the more athletic of users. I now have two sets of earbuds, these for relaxing or working, and another older pair for my jogs.

4 out of 5 eggsEggXpert earphone review

Pros: compact size with dynamic drivers and built-in microphone. Three ear bud sizes are available, I suggest you try from the smallest size first and move up. I found out that the smallest size worked for me. Just like any earphone, no software is needed due to plug and play. The bass sound from the driver is a crucial feature on such a small device. The bass sound a lot more dynamically deep and lively on this earphone compared to other earphones using the same test track. Comes with carrying case. The 3.5mm connector is of higher grade than other cheaper earphones. The earphone itself covers the entire cross-section area, unlike cheaper earphones.

Cons: when you hit the wire it makes a thumping sound even though the button there is supposed to be for push-to-talk. Therefore this is not close to audiophile. Also I had to re-plug in the earphone for the sound to work properly. No stereo nor any simulated surround capability, which is expected for this price.

Other Thoughts: One of the most expensive earphones available on Newegg, but still not very much money for what you get. It's compatible with any computer device.

5 out of 5 eggsYou want quality stuff buy Steelseries

Pros: These little things are very comfortable and the sound is unbelievable. The Flat cable is a great plus they do not tangle up like other headsets. These headphones work great with my PC, Tablet, and cell phone. They come with a very nice storage bag and extra ear piece’s small medium and large to fit any ear I would say. There is an inline microphone and control to answer/end calls and control media for mobile devices. It connects to your devices by a 3.5mm jack, which is standard on almost everything nowadays.

Cons: The flat cable produces a thumping like noise while running. Other than that these little babies are great.

Other Thoughts: I found if I want to run with this headset or they are making that thumping sound. All you have to do is wrap the cable around the back of the ear and the sound goes away or is very forgivable. So I will not take an egg off, for this design flaw and it only contains too runners. You can also attach the Y section to your shirt or jacket and it stops much of the thumbing sound. The thumping seems to come from the wire bouncing up and down on the ear pieces. Over all I give these little devils 2 thumbs up. Also this is the 3RD item I have from steel series and they do produce excellent equipment.

4 out of 5 eggsPrice to Performance

Pros: - The flat cord makes it easy to store and wrap up on a circular object. This effectively prevents any issues while wrapping it up.

- The sound range is great for a pair of 50$ Headphones.

- I would rate it a 7/10 for price to performance. This makes the headphones a great buy.

- The in-line mic is a great feature.

- The single button play/pause is also a great feature

- Comes with a carrying case. Very nice.

- Nice comfortable tips with different sizes included.

- Right Angle connector which I consider a great positive.

Cons: - The inline mic quality is not really that great sadly.

- Whenever touching the cord: It will make a loud scratch or thump sound due to it carrying the noise to the headphones. It is quite annoying.
It seems these headphones are oversensitive to movement.

Other Thoughts: Recieved these in the mail late it seems. UPS is doing a horrid job recently.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty good

Pros: Sound quality is good for the price. You are not going to mistake these for a $200 pair of headphones, but you shouldn't expect to. The sound is good enough that there's no annoying qualities to it, and it's a definite step up from budget headphones like the ones that come with your phone.

The no-tangle cords are EXCELLENT... I cannot say enough good things about this design! It's also nice to have multiple size fittings for your ear.

In-line mic is a nice feature to have, though its usefulness seems to me to be a bit niche.

Cons: I primarily wanted to use these headphones to listen to my music on my smartphone while running, and I absolutely hated that experience... when the cord bounced up and down, even a small amount, it created a loud & obnoxious "thump" sound in my ear. It was absurd... instead of hearing my music, I felt like I was listening to the noise of a heartbeat turned up wayyyyyy too loud. Adjusting the size of the earpiece did not alleviate this problem.

I'm not sure if it's due to the design of the ear piece, or the design of the cord, but I found these headphones to be much more sensitive than typical to movement or contact, even compared to other in-ear headphones I've used.

-1 egg for this.

Other Thoughts: I was really bummed that these didn't work well for running, but overall this is a decent headset given the price. The issue with cord noise is a typical downside of in-ear designs, so I'm not going to be too hard on these for that.
