1 out of 5 eggsWoW mouse

Pros: was nice when it worked

Cons: Will not work with windows 10, I downloaded the drivers from steel series, plugged in base and the lights will turn on. That is as far as it goes. Will not respond at all.

Other Thoughts: Not worth the hassle. Look into something else.

2 out of 5 eggsWon't Charge

Pros: Fits my hand and buttons all work fine.

Cons: Only way I can use it is when its plugged directly into mouse. It will not take a charge on the base so I basically paid for a wireless mouse and got a wired one.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't do it

Pros: Very cool looking, especially while charging on the dock. Good button placement.. Really like the design of the mouse and how it feels in my hands.

Cons: Where to start? This was my first SteelSeries product and my last.

IT WILL STOP WORKING COMPLETELY, out of nowhere, in the middle of a game, surfing the internet, watching a movie. It's completely random, you have to turn the mouse off at the bottom, unplug the mouse dock's usb cable, then plug it back in and turn your mouse back on. I don't know how many times I died in WOW because of this mouse...

Engine is also a terrible piece of software, it would constantly crash with configuring it.

I tried to update the firmware on the mouse but it just freezes. Only tried twice because I was afraid of bricking the mouse...

Other Thoughts: I will not stray away from Logitech again, they are not perfect, however, I have never been this displeased with a product.

1 out of 5 eggsWORST. MOUSE. EVER.

Pros: Semi-comfortable design, button placement is okay. Decent responsiveness when software works (See below.)

Cons: The software sucks, the buttons constantly do not respond to their commands. Battery life is non-existent. Constantly loses range and stops working, the receiver literally has to be right next to the mouse to prevent this. Mine will sometimes make this awful high pitched noise for no reason at all when plugged in or charging. You lose ALL mouse sensitivity when the Steel Series software isn't activated properly. There is a COMPLETELY USELESS button in the center of the mouse that literally does nothing, and the manufacturer knows this. Bought a second for my wife the same time I bought mine, her left click button arrived broken and barely responds.

Other Thoughts: DO NOT BUY. I will never buy steel series again because of this. Save yourself a lot of money, and BUY LOGITECH!

4 out of 5 eggsBest mouse ever created

Pros: -10 programmable buttons.
-Lots of profile customization ability.
-auto profile switching on the fly, smart program.
-Super comfortable
-The pinky button is revolutionary, why don't more mouses have it?
-Buttons are in all the right places
-Can go wired or wireless, but I'm oldschool and like wired.
-An awesome charger although I never use, good to have.
-Hardware embedded programmability, so it will work with ALL apps unlike its younger legendary brother.

Cons: -Only 10 programmable buttons. 10 is a lot I know, but hey I can always use more.

-I wish that sensitivity switch button could be programmed.

-It has a WOW logo, ugh. I think they could've made a hell of a lot more money from this mouse if they hadn't of branded it for WOW.

-No thumbscroll. I know, no other mouse other than the mmo/rat7 has this but once I tried it I just got hooked. Too bad the rest of the mmo/rat7 is just horrible.

-Installation is a freaking hassle. You do NOT need to install the firmware, just the software. I didn't know this, and the manual said to install the firmware first. WRONG!! Just install the software otherwise you'll get install errors. Firmware update don't work anyway, don't think it ever did.

Other Thoughts: Although there are a few cons, they are easy to overlook and the pros just totally overshadow them. It can be better, but for now it is the BEST mouse ever to have been created. I have tried many mouses from the cheapest of the cheap to mouses that cost hundreds of dollars in pursuit of the ultimate gaming mouse. This is THE mouse you want, and you're welcome --I just saved you tons of cash and effort in searching.

Also, I only briefly tried wireless but I got this itch to keep the battery fully charged at all times. I know, it's strange, but that's why I keep it wired. But in the few times I did go wireless, there were no issues with lag/disconnects. And there is virtually no hiccups/lags that I have experienced thus far having owned this mouse for about a year. I don't know how or why other people seem to be having a problem with this mouse lagging/disconnecting and my only thought is that perhaps it is their computer and not their mouse. I know a lot of people who complain about stuff not working on their computer and it's mainly because they don't take care of their computer(clean/virus check/malware scan/registry defrag/registry clean etc). Or just have extremely outdated hardware.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat when it works

Pros: Looks and feels great. I love the buttons on either side of the wheel for my action bindings. The glow and dock station look pretty cool. It fits perfectly in my hand. The response has always been on point. The software works fine for other games, you can make profiles for every application you use and the mouse auto switches to them on the fly.

Cons: The 11th button is just a dpi toggle from normal to fast, can't be bound. My major complaint is that is randomly disconnects or doesn't work at all on boot up. Windows has issues with the usb and it takes unplugging, turning off, resyncing, etc to get it back. Sometimes it takes 2 or more pc reboots to get windows to recognize it properly. I've been hoping for a driver or firmware update, but nothing in a long time. It's probably been abandoned by steelseries by now.

Other Thoughts: I really enjoy the mouse, it's my favorite gaming mouse thus far; more than razer or logitech or anything else. I just wish the connectivity was better and it would get 5 stars.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: The pros here is that the mouse works fairly well on basic use. You don't have to program it or run SteelSeries engine for the mouse to work at the most basic level (Left, Right and Scroll buttons, scrolling using the wheel).

Cons: - The problems with this is that the SteelSeries engine is highly incompatible with Windows 8 along with the device itself. Yes, the software will run, but no the software doesn't work as desired.
- The mouse seems to always want to lose it's connection to the charging station at the worst possible times (like during a fullscreen game of Skyrim!), while still lighting up. You have to disconnect the charging station and reconnect it for the mouse to wirelessly reconnect again.
- When the USB is connected directly to the mouse, the mouse seems to want to play dead while you are playing a game. The mouse still lights up and you have to disconnect and reconnect the cable for it to work again.
Everytime the mouse disconnects (it's "spaz" moment) or does it's power-off after X minutes of mouse inactivity, you ALWAYS have to switch to another window and switch back for the profile to work again (unless you selected the a profile in the engine before running a game). If the mouse is auto-powered off, then sometimes the Engine crashes and you have to start up the Engine again.

Other Thoughts: If you want a gaming mouse, do NOT use a SteelSeries mouse. Their engine takes forever to load up. Logitech's SetPoint program loads faster than the SteelSeries engine.
The price is NOT worth the hassle and headaches that this mouse creates.

1 out of 5 eggsNot worth $130. Not even close.

Pros: Button placement is excellent. The thumb buttons are distinct by feel and, at least for me, took no time to get clear which was which without looking.

Cons: Everything else.
Shoddy construction, cheap plastic, buttons that failed within a month,
cheap and loose mousewheel that "skips" steps,
constant disconnects that powercycling doesn't help - need to get the cable and plug it in when this happens. GREAT during a game session.
Index buttons, between the 1 and 2 buttons and the mousewheel there, the long skinny ones in the photo - were the first to die. They crunch and don't consistently fire. You can feel how cheap and shoddy the action is.

Other Thoughts: Blizzard and Steelseries should be ashamed of themselves for this piece of censored, but I guess no one cares about anything other than squeezing the last dime out of players any more. I got this for $50 at Blizzcon, which I thought was a great deal. Taking it out of the box, it immediately felt like the light, cheap plastic you get in a $10 Logitech. Blizzcon was early Novemeber. By early December, the mousewheel had lost precision and skips contact on rotation - super frustrating when even just trying to scroll a censored web page - and the two top-middle buttons I menion in Cons are unusable, because they are unreliable. Cheap switches inside, you can feel in the action. Terrible.

As an added bonus, the software is just horrible. Clunky and with limited customization. There also seems to be a completely unused botton, behind the mousewheel. You can't bind it, it seems to send no signal, and the software doesn't have it numbered. You can click it, it's weird.

Lastly, the bindings of the buttons themselves are lazy. Want to use it in another game? HAHAHAHA, guess what, it takes over standard key presses when not in WoW. For example, in SWTOR one of the thumb buttons sent a B. Yes, the letter B. When I bound that button to a quickslot, it unbound the letter B from its current action, and B then did that quickslot... one of the buttons seems to send a CTRL-TAB. It's like they couldn't be bothered to even program it with its own distinct signals, and just made it macro random existing ASCII codes.

Don't buy this piece of censored. It doesn't work right, simple as that, and isn't worth the $50 I paid for it, let alone $130. No wonder they were mass-dumping them at Blizzcon. Never buying another SteelSeries product again. They should rename themselves CheapPlasticSeries.
