Pros: i like the macro programming tool that USED to come with the Sensei. If you have this mouse try the earlier ver of the software.

Cons: I think they actually removed features with updates. My first mouse arrived visibly damaged. They gave me a replacement and now both mice have cord and scroll button issues.

Other Thoughts: What can I say im still using the thing.

Pros: -Easy to customize
-Nice thick cord that looks different from all the other cords I have plugged into my computer
-It's orange. It's so hard to find stuff like this that isn't red, green, blue, or purple.

Cons: -It can lag. If there are a lot of processes loading it takes a while for it to move smoothly

Pros: Excellent laser tracking, resolution and customization. I use one setting for gaming and fine editing and another (lower) for just the everyday mousing. Unlike some other users, I actually prefer the slick mouse surface to the rough one as it's easy to clean and has a nice feel.

Cons: This mouse squeaks like like a real mouse you can get at a pet store for a lot less money. When you switch hands (I use the mouse with my left hand when I'm sitting back and with my right hand when I'm leaning over the desk) the scroll wheel shifts ever so slightly to the opposite side and makes a mechanical squeak a few times. Also, and this seems to be an issue for a lot of people judging by the internet search results, the mouse produces a quiet but high-pitched sound when you move it. Maybe I just have very good hearing...(I do) The sound is always there but it only draws your attention occasionally. Also, the wheel is a little stiff.

Other Thoughts: For the price, I think they could have done better, but I still like it. I also don't need the four additional buttons on the side-- I've disabled them using the Engine 3 software. So, fix the squeaky wheel, the high-pitched noise from the laser, get rid of the side buttons and then you have the perfect mouse for me.

Pros: Large, well built, tracking is excellent.

Cons: Requires an internet connection to do any sort of mouse configuration (LED control, tracking DPI, macros, etc). First to download the necessary software, then each time it's used it must be able to phone home or it won't run.

There are 4 LED brightness settings; blindingly bright, bright, normal, and off..There is no decent dim setting.

The mouse cord has a rough finish that snags on the edges of the mousepad.

Other Thoughts: This is a good mouse for ambidextrous use. For righties only, the SteelSeries Rival mouse is better because it has more LED controls and better feel.

Pros: -Nice coloring and lighting if you are into the bling aspect. I am not so much.
-Nice quality braided USB cable.
-Accurate and smooth tracking performance
-Software performed as expected and you can control and tailor the lighting
-Ambidextrous, great for lefties

Cons: -List MSRP is way too expensive for this.
-I don't like the over the top pulsing LED lighting. Thankfully, this can be controlled via installed software(many options).
-Overall this is a very light and therefore to me it has a cheap feel.

Other Thoughts: Received this as a review piece. It will be heading off after this review to my son's school where I donate most of the review products. I think the kids will get a kick out of the LED lighting.

As for the mouse, I simply do not like it but I don't hate it. First impressions are how lightweight it is. I prefer a heavier mouse and being so light, it feels cheap to me. Everything just feels light and cheap. One exception being the braided USB cord which is really nice.

That being said, the scroll wheel has well defined stop points and functions well as a button. I sometimes have trouble actuating the middle mouse button on some mice without scrolling but this middle mouse button's action is nice. The laser works very well and feels accurate. Software performed as expected and it has a bunch of options to tame the gimmicky default LED pulsing system. The mouse earns top marks for lefties. The two thumb actuated side buttons are duplicated on both sides, this mouse is as symmetrical as can be. Although the side buttons performed without issues, the action feels a bit soft. I found myself actuating them during heated gaming, especially the off-side ones being hit with my ring finger.

Overall this has been a good mouse. It feels a lot like the old MS IntelliMouse which is no longer made so if you like that you will like this. It's just I have been using high end Logitech and Corsair mice for some time now. This just felt too lightweight and "cheaper" than other higher-end mice on the market. If you can get this in the $20ish range I would recommend it. It performed very well but I could not get over how cheap it felt for the price.

Pros: This mouse is very smooth, and quickly became a favorite mouse. while I like trackballs better, this mouse, with its extra buttons and software gives you a good advantage while gaming. the ability to set dps is nice.

Cons: the software would not install, and there was very little in the way of online help. took me quite a while to go through the registry and conflicting hardware before I could get the software working, and without it, the mouse is pretty much junk.

Pros: First, I have considerable experience with several top gaming mouses costing more than double what this mouse does. This mouse is excellent at what it claims to do.

Fast, customizable polling with a customizable, very high dpi laser. This thing is as accurate (practically speaking) as the best gaming mouses out there for roughly half the price. The buttons give me more options than some of the priciest choices out there. The mouse wheel and buttons all worked well and I didn't find any instance of accidental presses or other difficulty in using the buttons.

The pads on the bottom provide low resistance for a solid glide and the braided cord prevents accidental damage to the cord as well as unintended mouse movement that molded cords are prone to.

Overall, it's a great mouse with a thoughtful design and highly customizable -- things we all love.

Cons: The only major con is the mass and it is a fairly sizable con from my perspective. When you consider how easily a light object is to control accurately, the hand naturally expects the object to have sufficient mass. This mouse isn't super light, but I would like more weight, or customizable weight, to tailor it's mass to my preferences. As someone who is used to wielding physical objects, a weighted mouse just makes sense.

The only other con is the glossy texture. I'm not a fan of glossy textures for tactile objects. It's prone to scratches and marring and gets slippery if palms are sweaty. Instead, I prefer a surface that mimics the smoothness of tactile feel of skin so it remains smooth but has a degree of grip that is subtle but extremely helpful.

Other Thoughts: The illumination is neither a pro or a con. I'm sure some folks will love it and others won't. For me, I just turn it off. It's unnecessary and I'm not much into unnecessary lights. Also, the software is neither a pro or con for me -- it's just there if you need it. I, personally, did not find it terribly useful.

Pros: Having used this mouse for a couple of weeks in place of my Razer Taipan, I am pleasantly surprised by how well this mouse performs, especially given the price difference between it and my previous mouse. The only adjustment I needed to make was to increase the sensitivity setting in Windows, as this mouse does not have the ludicrously high DPI that the Razer does.

I think that the DPI adjustment button is brilliant - it is large and easy to use, unlike the Taipan's skinny two-button variable-DPI interface. The button on this mouse is much more usable in-game when you wish to lower the sensitivity, i.e. to snipe or control a fidgety vehicle. The ambidextrous back/forward buttons are nearly identical to the Taipan, and took no time to get used to. I use them extensively and enjoy that feature greatly.

Although the DPI is lower than the mainstream competition, 5670 DPI is plenty of resolution to have fluid movement and accurate response - I noticed no change in precision once I got used to the sensitivity change.

Cons: The smooth finish on this mouse may be desirable to some, but I personally prefer a more grippy material. When outside temperatures soared into the upper 90's last week, the mouse did feel a bit slippery as my palm got sweaty. This was rarely an issue, though, and caused by hot temperatures and lack of air-conditioning.

On long PDF files and reddit Enhancement Suite's endless front page, the scroll wheel seemed a bit slow. It may be possible to tweak this, but I did not attempt to - it hasn't been annoying, just different.

Other Thoughts: This mouse has all the usual ingredients for a good ambidextrous gaming mouse - 2 sets of back/forward buttons, on-the-fly DPI adjustment, neon-colored LED lighting, braided USB cable, et cetera. However, this mouse really gets set apart by its bang for the buck. Are there better mice out there? Of course. Are there better mice in this price range? I haven't tried all of them, but I doubt it.

Pros: This mouse has really a really smooth glide, and light click effort. I have light carpal tunnel and am always a little nervous when using different mice long term. This mouse has hasn't agitated my hand at all. Rock climbing rope style cable wrap is a nice touch. Nice and precise tracking as well.

Cons: I don't care for having LEDs on the mouse. It is a cool effect, but overall, I'd prefer to just have a plain non-LED mouse. This mouse is also not wireless, which is a bit of a con for me.

Other Thoughts: I have a small hand and have found that the basic small wireless 'laptop' format Microsoft mouse has been good for me in terms of my carpal tunnel. This mouse is a little bigger, so I may only end up using it as a backup.

I use the Adobe Creative Suite often to design webpages and haven't noticed much difference in terms of accuracy or precision when using Photoshop or Illustrator. What I have noticed is that good slide action prevents many 'bumps' that occur when making large selections.

I would recommend this mouse to my friends for desktop use if they prefer smoothness over wireless.

Pros: Simple design, lights up (some may or may not like this), sleek looking, works on just about any surface, solid laser sensor.

Cons: Gloss black cover is a little too slick after hours of gaming, very limited buttons for a gaming mouse, laser sensor only has two settings (though it can be further fine tuned within steelseries software), not the most comfy mouse I've used, and a little too light (weight wise) for my tastes.

Other Thoughts: I've been buying and trying gaming mice for years and currently own several mice that I love and switch in & out of my gaming cockpit. This mouse is basic. More basic that I'm used to using. It reminds me of my beloved MX518 but it doesn't quite reach that one's lofty height.

After a week of using this mouse I found it to work well enough. From playing BF4 and Rust to ESO and Banished the mouse worked well but I found the gloss exterior to be too slick while gaming. I prefer mice with a matte color or rubber coating for a more sure grip.

The software that ships with the mouse allowed me to further tweak the laser sensor's dpi settings to my liking. but on a mouse like this I really don't find myself needing to use the software most of the time. The mouse performs well with or without the use of it's software but I did like the ability to further adjust the dpi settings as the mouse by itself only has two settings to start with.

Bottom line is this; if you are looking for a gaming mouse that is a throw back to old school gaming mice then the Sensei Raw should work for you and at a price of $50 you could do a lot worse.

For myself? I'll be sticking with my other gaming mice.
