Based on the award-winning SteelSeries Siberia full-size headset, the v2 features major enhancements in sound quality, comfort, and in its microphone. Every element of the v2 has been optimized for pro gaming, making the headset a preferred piece of equipment for the world's best competitive PC gamers - the most demanding headset users. Sporting 25% larger 50mm driver units, the v2 dramatically boosts overall acoustic performance. Experience a rich and detailed soundscape, from immersive atmospheric background music to precise 3D positional sounds of footsteps, gunfire, and more. The close-type ear cups feature thick leather-padded cushions built from sound-dampening foam, designed to offer passive noise reduction from loud surroundings and to improve comfort over prolonged use. A virtually invisible uni-directional microphone can be retracted from the left ear cup, optimized for essential voice communications. The v2 remains lightweight, and its trademark headband suspension construction makes it extremely comfortable for use over long periods of time.

  • newegg Powerful beauty The SteelSeries Siberia V2 headset is the successor to SteelSeries Siberia full-size headset, which revolutionized several features in the headset industry. The Siberia v2 features a beautiful design combined with functionality and performance, all in one headset.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Headset

Pros: Very good product. I have owned it for 6 months and it still works perfectly fine. Many other headsets in this price range would have fallen apart by now.

Cons: The headset doesn't really block out all noise. But for some that may be a good thing.

2 out of 5 eggsListen to other reviewers

Pros: Extremely comfortable and snug fit, the audio quality is good when it works, though if you are looking for strong Bass, these are not the headphones you want

Cons: Lacking in bass is the only fault I have

Other Thoughts: when my pair of turtle beaches died out, i wanted a quick replacement without splurging too much and these seemed like a good bet at the price (less than 35 bucks) so I gave them a go as I have not had too much trouble with refurbished items from newegg in the past. The monitor I am using now is close to 4 years old and still going strong. However after only having these headphones for ONE DAY, the right earcup completely gave out so am awaiting a new pair as we speak.. Thankfully the pair I had didn't fall into the realm of earwax nightmare that it seems many other posters have experienced.

2 out of 5 eggsBeware for Refurbished

Pros: Good sound quality, ear cups are comfortable (see cons), works for tablet, phone, and computer.

Cons: When I got these, I opened the box expecting something similar to new. Instead, the box was filled with dirt and dust. When I picked up the headphones, a glob of cheese or ear wax plugged some of the holes in the speaker. The ear cups were sagging, wrinkly, and dirty. Clearly used and pretty gross.
Now on to the sound quality and my biggest problem: sounds great - when it works. Nice highs and lows and very crisp and good quality sound. However, the audio jacks are dusty and broken. What I mean is that when you touched the wire, the sound quality varied from inaudible, tinny, and shoddy, to beautiful quality audio. The audio jack, depending on what exact position it's in, makes it sound horrible. This led to me believing and posting an article online asking for help, as the sound quality for iPhone was excellent but poor for my Samsung. I thought there was a problem with my Galaxy S5, but it turns out that the position difference in the cord on each phone alternated sound quality.
Basically, be careful with buying the refurbished. Quality depends on how well the owner took car of it, and my owner did a poor job. Also, I found out Newegg won't let me send them back for a refund. Oh well. Don't risk it, just buy new ones.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I have owned these headphones for 3 plus years and they have been good to me.

I liked how they're pretty light weight and that the upper band is nice and flexible. The ear cups as well are a good fit and quite comfortable. The extendable / retractable microphone is handy to have and I find picks up sound really good.

Cons: Recently the sound in my right earphone had cut out for good, but for the time I've had them I expect it to happen. The sound quality I find is good in the higher frequency ranges but there's not so much boom or bass to them. Finally, the volume of the headphones themselves I always found way too low, and even at maximum settings it's still not enough.

3 out of 5 eggsMediocre

Pros: Cheap when I bought it. Better than average sound. Good for gaming. Retractable mic is handy, also the mic quality is fair. Seems fairly durable, I've only had it ~1 month.

Cons: Extremely tight. Ears get very sweaty because it's a pleather material. Cannot wear for more than an hour or two at a time. I have to take 2 eggs for this, what might be considered a gaming headset, I cannot wear it for more than 2 hours, which is a problem.

Other Thoughts: If you wear glasses or have any piercings that might get in the way of these, beware. I also have a slightly narrower than average head and these things are tight. I actually gave these to my wife and she uses/likes them.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat Product, Small Problem

Pros: The sound quality of this headset for Music is great. I do not game so I do not know how well the surround sound function works. The Mic picks up my voice well.

Cons: The headset came with a small defect. The elastic band on top had a problem internally. Fortunately I am handy, though and was able to pull it apart pretty easily with a very small philips screwdriver and fix it with a bit of epoxy and about 20 minutes of my time.

Other Thoughts: Great feel on my head, also doesn't mess up my hair like the previous headsets I've had, which I like because I use the headset to listen to lectures online when I study at the library at my college. Gotta stay sharp for the ladies ;)

1 out of 5 eggsDo Not Buy

Pros: Decent and comfortable headset but do not buy the refurbished one.

Cons: When I got it, the once comfortable ear cups were squashed and not puffy and were saggy and wrinkly. The headset was dusty and the internals were covered in dirt and earwax. Worst of all, you cannot return it for a refund. Splurge and buy the real thing or just buy another headset.
