5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: Sounds as good as my Bose headset I replaced these with.

Cons: If you have your music cranked up really loud and you're working in an office...a neighbor may hear it. Its not bad enough to deduct an egg though, because its not even close to be disruptive. Just thought I would mention it.

Other Thoughts: I replaced these with a Bose headset, because I got the Bose headset for Christmas and gave this JVC set to my dad.

5 out of 5 eggsPretty Good Headphones for the Price, but..

Pros: I've owned these headphones since 3/30/12, and I have to say that they were pretty great for what I paid for them. The bass response from these cans is superb. It's tight, clear, and can keep up with faster tracks. It also can make the cans vibrate if you want them too. The treble is, in my opinion, a tad rolled off. Highs, mids, and lows were all pretty nice. They fold up well and the cups themselves where very comfy since they fit around your ear. I haven't really used the 6.6ft extension cord or 6.3mm plug adapter that it can with but still they are great additions. Finally these headphones EQ VERY well.

They held up ok. I used these for probably 2hrs-3.5hrs a day when I was in class (spring/fall), and less than 2hrs (summer/winter). I used them on the bus, and these kept most sounds out. I could here the whine of the bus, but I couldn't here people talking. So with build quality I'd give them a C+ to B- (see cons) because I was using them pretty extensively.

Cons: Now the cons are that for one the wire used in these headphones is extremely thin so it can easily break/come apart. This just happened to mine around the last 2 weeks of March 2013. It started to separate just above the 3.5mm jack. What's funny is that both the L/R still headphones work lol. I had to tape it up. The last con is build quality. The hinged that helps the headphone fold fast just up and snapped. I'm probably going to end up super gluing that part because tape doesn't hold it.

Other Thoughts: These headphones are great. They get 5 stars for sound quality, and 3.5-4 stars for build quality.

4 out of 5 eggsA few days in

Pros: The bang for buck isn't bad. I'm happy with it. They're comfy for my ears (which aren't small, but aren't large either), the folding mechanism doesn't feel cheap, the length is ideal and the adapter looks solid. The sound thus far has been great, but I'm still burning them in (not that these really need it).

For the price I paid, I'm happy with them, and they have a nice bass response, more than I'm used to for the price.

Cons: They're not top of the line headphones. The sound isn't perfect even half way through burn. But is this really a con? Technically yes, but for the price you paid these really aren't bad headphones.

Other Thoughts: Worth the money I paid, I'm happy with the product.

5 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: Comfortable. Great sound, heard little things in my playlists that I couldn't hear before. Fold, which is convenient. Reminds me of those Bose phones that cost a hundred something, except at a fraction of the price. I hope these never fade or break.

Cons: I have small-average size ears. After maybe 45 min of having them on, my ears begin to ache/hurt. Top of my cranium is fine, just my ears.

Other Thoughts: People say that you have to play with Audacity to unlock the "real" sound capable of these. But I used them out of the box and the sound is very nice. Nice bass too.

They block out 70% sound from outside so I can just put them on while im studying.

Very satisfied.

4 out of 5 eggsWorth It

Pros: -Comfortable around the ears. Won't squash them as long as you don't have Dumbo ears.

-Phones fold up.

-Sound is decent.

-Comes with an extension cord as the one attached isn't long enough for some folks. I like that. Makes it so you have just enough when you walk around with an MP3/iPod in your pocket, and more when you want to move away from where it's plugged in.

-Got it half off.

Cons: -Uncomfortable on top of my head. It seems like I've traded sore ears for a sore scalp. However, the soreness of my head isn't as bad as the soreness I was experiencing on my ears with my previous pair of headphones.

-As others have said, the cord seems fragile. I suggest you take care when unplugging these things.

-Though the sound is decent, you will probably have to do some tweaking through Audacity or another program. I was running it through VLC and I said to myself, "No wonder they were half off. These suck!" But then I did what a previous poster did, and I used Audacity to mess with it. The sound is better, but don't expect it to awesome out of the box. I thought that it was Audacity, and not the headphones, so I tried it with my previous headphones and these new ones still sound better.

Other Thoughts: Overall, I would suggest you get them during the -50% deal. I don't think I would pay for these at full price.

Annoying question: I've been reading all over about "breaking in" headphones, and some say it is a myth and others say it is real. Can anybody offer up a personal experience with breaking in headphone so that us laymen can understand if letting it run with sound is a good idea?

5 out of 5 eggsBest comfort

Pros: Looks nice, good finish. It just sit around your ear and doesn't touch it so its very comfortable and I get no pain after 6+ hours of use. Better than those $150 ones that just crushes your ears. Sound maybe not good for those high demanding sound freak but for the price it's very good.

Cons: It comes with an extension cord and without it, it's pretty short (4ft).

I've had this for 3 years now it very few times I have to rotate the plug in jack to get the left speaker working but only with the extension. (Always needed the extension so haven't used it without the extension)

Other Thoughts: If your a big guy with big ears then your out of luck, same goes if your a little guy with big ears. Then it would just very uncomfortable for you guys.

For the price and that it can fold, it should of came with a case or something since it has a nice shiny finish.

Inner cushion dimension of the ear cup is 2.125" high and 1.437" wide. The depth is (slanted since your ear is that way) 0.8" towards the front and 1.125" towards the back. Big enough for the average geek.

5 out of 5 eggsgood value, works for me

Pros: Relatively inexpensive, extremely efficient, great end-to-end frequency response on the only source tested thus far (Pandora 192 Kbps, Joe Satriani/Steve Vai/Stevie Ray Vaughan/Gary Hoey/Andy Timmons/etc.)

Cons: Guess I have really big ears. Cups just a bit small but tolerable. Squish 'em in there.

Other Thoughts: These are good phones for the money. In the long ago, I did some studio and concert work myself, and also worked for many artists as what we then called "button pusher" (technical consultant, mixing board and tape operator, mic placement, all that stuff).

These phones are almost extraordinarily efficient, that is, they get very loud with a relatively low-intensity input signal. Don't have instruments, but if you remember Koss Pro4-AAs, these are about twice as loud at comparable input levels.

My evaluation: good end-to-end response, a little heavy on the low frequency end, but I like that, good response out to at least 16KHz, reasonably accurate. Some harmonic distortion but truly not much at all. Much of that distortion is in the source I think.

You can get better phones, but you'll pay the weight for them. For $31.99 I like these and recommend them.

Not sure why some people find these "muddy" if they received a fully-functioning instance of this product. It could be that their hearing has been damaged by too much high-SPL listening. Those little sterocilia (hair cells) in the cochlea are delicate, no fooling, and easily blown out. To me, these phones are quite crisp and reasonably well-balanced throughout the auditory spectrum, a bit strong on the low frequency end as noted, gives a nice solid effect IMO. Some people might need EQ to overcome auditory deficits. Even with no EQ at all I find these phones pleasant to wear and listen to, although the cups could be a bit bigger for my old-man floppy ears.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect

Pros: Still working flawlessly. Shuts out external noise and puts you in your own world. Great quality sound. Sturdy wire/extension.

Cons: Because its something like leather muffs, it makes your ears warm and sometimes its uncomfortable.

3 out of 5 eggsnot very good

Pros: Cheap.
Comfort to wear.

Cons: Very disappointed. Sound is muddy.

Other Thoughts: I used to have a Sen HD201. It was very good but broken after 1 yr. So, I decided to try something different. However, I am very disappointed with this Headphone. Sounds is muddy and I decided to keep it in the box and wear my Sen earbud.

5 out of 5 eggsHighly recommended.

Pros: Shipping was ultra fast (Just one day out of the three day UPS shipping) and well worth the price. They are very comfortable, cushy on the top of your head and it gives your ears a lot of room and doesn't smash them and make them sore after a long period of use. They are incredibly loud, with crisp clear sound and good bass.

Cons: The cord is a little shorter than most headphones but it comes with an extension and solves that problem easy, even without the extension it couldn't lose an egg from me.
