5 out of 5 eggsPlantronics Headset

Pros: Comfortable: These are very comfortable for me, even during several hour gaming sessions. I usually have to go through a break-in phase where I get used to a new headset. This one did not have that phase, which is nice since it saved me a couple headaches.

Great for Gaming: I generally don't use the larger headsets, so I really don't know how this headset compares with the large gaming headsets. With that said, I have played competitively for many years, and I've never had any problems using this style for gaming. (I am a very audio oriented gamer, so I need to be able to hear every footstep, shot fired, reload, etc.) I feel that this headset is a slight upgrade from my previous one (same brand, slightly different model).

Quality: I've been buying Plantronics headsets for years and they tend to have a good lifespan. My last set lasted for over 4 years of daily use. They never did break, they just started looking sad. The set previous to that lasted about 4 years. It started having sporadic signal loss issues due to wires coming loose. I'm generally not very gentle with my headsets so this wasn't a surprise.

Mic: The mic on this headset works fine. Everyone I talk to says they can hear me clearly. It may be a touch on the quiet side, but that might just be an issue with something on my end.

Cons: None really.

Other Thoughts: For the price, these are a complete steal. From my experience you can plan on these lasting 3-5 years. I just bought a second pair of these for a friend since he liked mine so much.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: 1) Mic boom is very flexible and easy to position.
2) Sound quality is decent on both the mic and speakers
3) The in-line control seem more solidly attached to the cord then most headsets I've used.
4) Comes with detachable USB converter.

Cons: 1) After about 2.5 hrs they become uncomfortable to continue wearing.
2) In-line Volume control for the mic has 3 settings going up and 4 settings going down, unsure if it's meant to have {mute, low, high} or {mute, low, medium, high}.
3) Something rattling around in the left earpiece, has happened since received, rather annoyingly.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Quality For Your Money.

Pros: Great microphone quality
Noise canceling while using third party applications is fantastic
Low price ($9.99 when I bought it)
USB sound card (Quality of mic and sound is guaranteed no matter what PC you have. Can also be used with other microphones and are usually worth $7-$15 alone)
Long cord at approximately 7-8 feet

Cons: Settings are limited.
May be uncomfortable to wear at first to some users

Other Thoughts: Definitely worth the price even it rises back up to $20

3 out of 5 eggsGreat Sound, but uncomfortable

Pros: The sound quality is great and I get awesome sound from the microphone.

Cons: It isn't actually USB, it just has a USB adapter that the mic/headphones plug into, which means that the sound is analog (but the quality is still good)

The mic and headphone jack sticks way out (2~ inches) and if you want to use the adapter it sticks out another 2.

I have a big head, so when I wear this headset for more than 2-3 hours it starts to hurt my ears. If I wear my glasses while using these it hurts my ears after about and hour or two.

Other Thoughts: I use other headphones when I don't need a microphone and switch back and forth if my ears start to hurt from getting pinched, but I like my setup and if these break I would consider buying them again.

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible Quality

Pros: It worked out of the box.
Decent mic quality.

Cons: Bad wires, they ultimately resulted in my throwing the headset out because it wasn't worth repairing.

Also hurt the top of my ears, unconfortable with glasses or any kind of long-term usage. I taped on foam and it became bearable, but that shouldn't be necessary.

Other Thoughts: Go for an extra $15, get a $40 over-the-head mic and you'll be amazed in the step up in Quality(Build and Sound), Comfort and Durability.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: * Good sound quality, cuts out a lot of the background noise
* Comfortable to wear, love the padding around the ears
* Behind the head
* Came with USB soundcard/adapter

Cons: * Cord is too short! Did not expect this when I bought it.
* Slightly large fit for me particularly

Other Thoughts: Plastic casing is a nuisance and bad for the environment. Why do companies still do this? Required a knife to open.

1 out of 5 eggsNot For Gaming

Pros: *Cheap.
*Great for infrequent use.

Cons: *Very painful to wear for gaming (that is, for a few hours or longer). Gaming with these headsets for a few days left very sore spots on the top of both ears that eventually formed blisters.
*Low-Quality. The first set I bought lost sound within 2 weeks (without any damage after I received it). The second pair had a faulty mic boom.
*Awkward Mic Boom. The mic boom is very long, extending nearly past the right side of my mouth (and I really have an average-sized head, if not bigger). Although it's easily adjusted up and down, its very hard to bend the mic boom.
*Very bulky & unneeded volume adjuster. Seriously, this thing is very big and weighs down the mic cord, I had to tape it to my desk it was getting annoying getting caught on things.

Other Thoughts: If you're not going to use them much and just want to pick up a quick pair, go ahead, but I wouldn't suggest these for anything more.

5 out of 5 eggsFirst Time For Me

Pros: I bought it for use with the ASUS N71JV-X1 The headset i like real well. I just wish it could work with my Gateway MT6729 Notebook. (maybe it is software related why it wont work) but i liked it for the Asus.

Cons: Ease of use for analog. the USB i did'nt expect a adaptor but to be honest it was the first one like this i bought. It wont work with my Gateway MT6729 Notebook. I wish it did.

Other Thoughts: I think on my rma'd asus when was on it caused lag. When i went to analog then that lag was gone.
