Plantronics 38635-01 WG101/B Savi Go (Microsoft) Headset

Pros: Easy to set up. Clear loud.

Cons: Not good for listening to music in between calls. Drains the battery life which can not be changed out

Pros: I ordered one of these for our office to test it out and it worked out so well we now have them for everyone. It comes with 2 mounts; a headband that most of us use in-office use with our VOIP system and an over-the-ear mount for mobile use on the go. Some even use the over-the-ear all day and it’s so comfortable they don’t need the headband. They are easily changed out.

It synced with our in-house VOIP system first time, and with our mobile phones (all iPhones but should work with any Bluetooth device) so you get dual use out of this little gem.

Clarity is incredible. We tested landline handset vs. Savi GO and there was no difference in quality for the customer. If anything, it was better on the Savi GO because there was no background noise from a busy office in the headset for either the customer or our employees. The extended boom on this is perfect for both in-house and mobile use. No car noise when driving and we couldn’t tell when someone was driving or in the office.

Charging is quick with the desktop charger. Call handling is simple with answer/call end and volume control on the headset. Battery life lasts all day so far on even busy days.

The Savi GO also worked great with Microsoft’s built-in speech recognition for the OS, Office and in Dragon as well.

In short, we love it and would highly recommend it. It is a shame that this seems like a dying breed with Plantronics so you better grab them up while you can. The new Plantronics replacement is now a premium device that costs 2-3 hundred dollars more for the same basic thing.

Get this one while you can!

P.S. - It's sad that this product got a bad review because the user had a bad experience with Newegg and not necessarily the product itself. All of ours were shipped double boxed and came in perfect condition. We've been using them for months and nothing but great performance so far.

Cons: Not really any to date other than the headband/over ear mounting point. While we have people changing them out daily and no problems so far, this could have been designed a little better for daily use. It looks like with repeated daily use it could potentially fail if you're not careful. So far it's been great though!

Other Thoughts: Plantronics makes great headsets no doubt. But, they are either greedy as heck or their product line manager is an idiot. They discontinue some of the best products/features and either don't replace them, or in this instance, replace them with new items that are 2-3 times the cost.

Pros: NONE

Cons: Came with a broken base charger. plugged the unit into my computer to charge overnight. the headset does not always connect after every call. the headset has to be re connected quite frequently or the person on the other end can not hear your voice.

Other Thoughts: Came with a broken base charger. Newegg customer service was horrible and not very responsive. still waiting on return shipping label (one that i had to pay for even though it was sent to me not working properly) and have been put on hold 3 times at 10-15 intervals. First time buyer with Newegg and not impressed at all!
