5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: The mixer is a great tool. Taking calls/listening to music from your cell phone while gaming (or whatever) is the best thing about it. I also love the breathable ear pieces. The cloth feel makes it feel like your not really wearing them. I was pleasantly surprised how much noise reduction they have too.

Cons: Since they are very like it always feels like I'm going to break them if I "man handle" them.

2 out of 5 eggsUpdate

Pros: Still a nice set up. The cans are good and the mic boom produces good sound. The mixer is pretty great, but the cabling is the achilles' heel.

Cons: -Weak cabling: I have had 2 cables develop shorts. One was modular so it was an easy fix to detach it from the mixer and replace with a new cable sent by Plantronics. The second was hardwired to the mixer unit itself, and Plantronics insists that I send the entire unit (all of it, cans, headset, mic and boom) back before they issue a replacement. This leaves me with no headset in my office.
-Has no driver to work with Microsoft Lync. The controls on the mixer itself do not control Lync calls. I learned this the hard way when I pressed the mute button on the mixer and my mic was still live on Lync. That was a bit embarrassing.

Other Thoughts: This is a neat idea, and initially I was sold on it. Now I am faced with sending the unit back and going with no headset or mic in my office. This may be a great unit for gamers, but I don't believe it is ready for business primetime. Plantronics also does not support the RIG like their real office business line. This is one of a small selection of products that Plantronics makes you send back first before you get a replacement (you also need to pay the freight to get it back to them). I'm disappointed. The thought of going through all this again with another unit is exhausting. I think I'll purchase a real office headset instead.

5 out of 5 eggslove them!

Pros: Very comfortable!!! and my first headset in a VERY long time. I work nights so I had to get a set so my fiance does not kick my behind for waking her up. The swap between phone and game/music is GREAT! i love having the sounds from the game/music come through even though i am on a call, and it is fully user controlled

Cons: Bluetooth would have been nice, but added complexity may detract from the ease of use.

Other Thoughts: I use the OPTICAL input for my pc so i have easy switching on my sound card. This means i do not have to unplug the headphones to switch to my speakers. it also allows for very clean sound reproduction instead of analog. I forgot how much i missed listing to music while browsing the web, and how nice it is to game with headphones!!!

3 out of 5 eggsDisappointed.

Pros: Gamer headset audio.
Look decent.

Cons: I wanted these to work so bad. But they became very uncomfortable to wear for more than 10 minutes at a time.

I have a large noggin, (Afro sized on the headset sizing) and the top although it looked padded, was not. The cloth has no padding underneath where the headset expands and it digs into the top of my head.

Other Thoughts: Selling point was the mixer and extra's. I liked the headset when I first got it, worked good taking calls from my Galaxy Note3. Never wore the headset for more than 10-15 minutes at a time and loved it. When I got some time to sit and play some games I ended up taking them off after about a half hour because I was getting a headache and didn't think anything of it. Played some more the next day had to take them off again, noticed the top of my head hurt so I started checking out the headset and noticed the lack of padding. The center of the headband was very well padded, but toward 11 o'clock and 1 o'clock the expansion system starts and the padding disappears. Those two points are plastic and sat directly on my head causing the pain. Kept trying them for the next couple days to see if I just needed to get used to the new headset. Nope.

It was severely uncomfortable. I loved everything about the set for gaming, but the discomfort was what turned me away. If I can't use something for more than a half hour at a time, especially because it causes pain, there are other options.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect

Pros: -Good sound, great for streaming
-Very comfortable and light, I've worn it for hours with no issue.
-flat, tangle-resistant cables/wires
-Mixer feels solid with a rubber base, so it feels planted on your desk.
-Every cable you could need, which makes this more like 3-4 headsets in one. Comes with boom mic wire, in-line mic wire, no mic wire, and everything you need for the mixer. Comes with all wires for Xbox and
-Your own voice is projected into the mic, which has the effect of letting you talk more softly since you aren't struggling to hear yourself over the cans.
-Mixer is simple and intuitive, switching is second nature.
-Neither the mixer nor the headset takes batteries. Big plus.

Cons: -It's not bluetooth? That's all I can think of.

Other Thoughts: This may be marketed to gamers, but I found this by searching "Plantronics" and intending to find a boring over the ear business headset. I work as an IT consultant and was in the market for a headset that could switch seamlessly between my cell phone calls/music streaming and MS Lync, Skype, Webex, and anything else I needed to do on my laptop. The mixer is brilliant for switching between the laptop/PC and the mobile phone. Before this I had 2 headsets and had to switch them from one port to the other. This headset ends all that. Awesome purchase. And of course, Newegg is THE place to shop for electronics. I got for about $15 less than what I would have paid in the Rainforest. Newegg has continually earned my business for years.

4 out of 5 eggsWant to like these

Pros: Light weight, versatile, and sound quality. The RIG system is pretty interesting.

Cons: Microphone boom not adjustable.

Other Thoughts: The idea here was for versatility and that hits its mark very well. The over all look of the headphones is very pleasing (at least to me). Comfort is fine for a little while but gets somewhat uncomfortable after 3 or so hours. Better cushions on the the ears and these would be fantastic. Like the title says I want to like these.

3 out of 5 eggsI love the mixer more than the headset

Pros: Soft ear cushions and the ear cups fit securely. The boom microphone is sensitive enough to pick up conversation but I'm not sure if it picks up background noise. The 40mm drivers do a great job of producing quality sound and i like all the accessories that come with this product.

the other pro is that you're able to connect your phone/ipod to the mixer and listen to music while gaming. you can also pick up phone calls too (keeps the GF happy).

one neutral aspect is that this product gives you the ability to plug in a different headset into the mixer. the downside is that the plug itself needs to be a 4-layer plug (similar to cellphone headsets). most gaming headsets have audio and mic split into 2 plugs. if it does not come with an adapter, you're out of luck.

Cons: the cushions are still hard after 5 months. after 3+ hours of gaming, the top of my head starts to hurt from the top band cushion. When i try to adjust the size to be bigger, the headset sags on my ears and I no longer have a good fit.

the boom mic is not adjustable so it can be a con depending on customer preferences.

another con to this product is that only accept headsets with 4-layer plugs.

Other Thoughts: the best feature for this product is the mixer itself. if plantronics can make the headset more comfortable, then they'll have a sure winner, especially with their target pricing.

the mixer accepts optical in so that it can be used for the current Gen gaming consoles (Xbox One, PS4) but you will need your own cable for that.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Despite 1 Flaw

Pros: Excellent quality in gaming (using PC and Mumble application for communication in game) with voice over in the background. Can have private Mumble server game talk and in-game players with no loss in quality for game/music in background.

No experience with using mixer (see cons), or XBox/PS3 but either would work in the same capacity of driver support/connection.

Cons: Assuming it's an issue on my end, the mixer doesn't seem to work that well. People can't hear me when I switch over (button on the top), even with volume for both the phone and PC turned all the way up.
When I did get it to change *I think* it wouldn't work on the PC side until I tapped it "on/off" (Mobile to PC, and back a couple times) that I could be heard on the other end. The reason I think it's the mixer is because the headphones went out (as they would if I was in a phone call, making the input the phone headphone jack).
Assuming this is just a hardware issue; I would be covered by the manufacturer, (or newegg if I had sent it in soon enough) but it's not a big enough problem to want to turn it back in and wait (or fight) for a new one.

tl;dr - small problem I don't have a problem with didn't take away from my use and experience with headset.

Other Thoughts: A+
Would Buy Again.
