5 out of 5 eggsYou hear exactly what you configure

Pros: This is a good headset. You configure the sound settings exactly how you want to hear them. If you know a lot about these switches, this is the best headset for you. Its comfortable and durable

Cons: make the cord longer. It's kind of short.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this product to others as a great gaming headset for Ranked League of Legends gaming and Competitive CS:GO

4 out of 5 eggsGreat while they lasted...

Pros: Sound is great, even without the Surround software (see Other Thoughts).

Extremely comfortable -- the best I've ever had.

The microphone works quite well, only picking up my voice and not the distracting sounds in the background.

Cons: Cable seemed a bit short.

Stopped working in late November (after approximately one month of use). When I tried unplugging them and plugging them back in, my system complained about not being able to identify the USB device. After a couple of times unplug/plug cycles, it would install the driver and work for a while. But it got worse and eventually stopped working altogether. My backup USB headset works fine, so it's not my system.

Other Thoughts: Bought this headset from a video game convention in late October 2015. The Surround software wasn't available until about two weeks after I bought the headset.

Despite the failure, they were so good for the price that I'm probably going to try this headset again.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat headset but at a cost.

Pros: -Supppppper comfortable. I wear this headset 10+ hours a day.

-Even with the closed ear cups my ears never get sweaty and the headset doesn't crush my head.

-Easy install in terms of putting it together and driver download
Manageable cable length.

-Non doubly 7.1 sound sounds very nice. Crisp and clean.

-Mute function built into the mic (flip up the mic)

Cons: -Audio cuts out here and there.

-Microphone level never stays where I set it (and yes I've tried the obvious windows tricks to prevent this).

-Microphone DOESN'T detach from the headset on this model (thought it did).

-The Dolby 7.1 sounds awful. Feels like I'm in a stone room (i've had other 7.1 headsets that sound much cleaner).

-Cable length while nice could be a bit longer and is NOT braided.

Other Thoughts: So I bought this during black Friday for about 75$. It's a great headset that has a great design, feel, and comfort. However it even with these great design choices (being able to replace just one part if it breaks instead of the WHOLE headset), in my personal opinion it falls short on execution.

The headset itself (while feeling very cheap) is actually VERY durable. On the FAQ for this headset on Plantronics website you can see them twisting and bending the part the ear cups attach onto and it goes right back to its original position. The ear cups are super comfortable, a little weird to get use to if you're use to fabric or leather though. But like i mentioned in the pros section, I wear this headset 10+ hours a day and my ears never once get sweaty and the headset never presses on my head. I sometimes forget it's even there.

The software is easy to setup. You download it, install, plug your headset in, restart the computer and you're good to go. You can also set custom E.Q. levels.

The cord is a minor annoyance personally. The hearcups have a 3.5mm jack that plugs into the main "cord" (this cord has the Dolby 7.1 activation button and is also how you plug the headset into a device that has a USB port as the ear cup portion of the headset cord is realllly short).

The audio cutting is very annoying (sometimes it's back to back, other times it's once in like several hours. Contacted Plantronics to see if its just on my end). The Dolby 7.1 (when enabled) sounds terrible compared to other 7.1 headsets I've used.

So it had its pros and cons literally. I would recommend this product HOWEVER I don't think it's worth the 100$, heck not even the 75$ I paid for it either especially not with the very obvious and annoying audio cutting issue.

But on the flipside, if something breaks, you only have to replace that part instead of the whole website as Plantronics sells the individual parts.

4 out of 5 eggsComfortable

Pros: Great headset so far, it's very comfortable to wear. Extremely light weight. The self-adjusting head band is nice. I love the flip-up to mute mic feature. I like the overall design and Plantronics offers interchangeable custom headbands which is a nice touch.

Cons: Only con for me, and I can't believe I didn't see this before I bought it, there is no in-line volume control.

Other Thoughts: Good overall buy, would buy again even without the in-line volume control.
