5 out of 5 eggsYamaha In-Ear Headphones

This review is from: Yamaha - In-Ear Headphones (EPH-20) BLACK

Pros: Price is cheap. Great sound if you insert them in your ear properly. Not to much treble...and not to much bass using an audio jack on a windows PC with on-board audio.
I would buy again!

Cons: Cord is about 1ft too short for my liking. But if your using a portable MP3 Player it may not be an issue.

Other Thoughts: Yamaha makes good stuff.

5 out of 5 eggsDecent Bass

This review is from: Yamaha - In-Ear Headphones (EPH-20) BLACK

Pros: Sound quality is great, ambient noise is cancelled out while listening. You can't beat this price, for a pair this decent.

Cons: The 3.5mm should be straight, like iPhone headphones.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good ear buds

This review is from: Yamaha - In-Ear Headphones (EPH-20) BLACK

Pros: Very light, can't even tell they are in your ears. They fit very comfortably in the ear and do not fall out. I run and workout with these in my ears and I never have a problem with them falling out. The sound is clear, not to much base.

Cons: none really

Other Thoughts: I am going to buy another pair when they go on sale again.

1 out of 5 eggsConcert sound quality LOL

This review is from: Yamaha - In-Ear Headphones (EPH-20) BLACK

Pros: Made by Yamaha.

Cons: Sound quality is terrible. Doesn't sould like any concert I ever went to. Very tinty, no bass.
Would send them back, but to pay shipping, just wouldn't be worth it. Not worth buying for any price.

4 out of 5 eggsClean sound, but fairly delicate looking.

This review is from: Yamaha - In-Ear Headphones (EPH-20) BLACK

Pros: I would have given them 3 eggs, but considering the price on sale, I decided on 4. I consider the sound pretty clear and clean, but know that it makes a great difference in quality and volume depending on what they are plugged into.

Cons: Potential Con: Wires appear rather delicate. Not for the person who yanks out ear buds by the wires. The ear bud housing is joost big enough to remove with.

Nit-picking: difficult to see left/right designation, so I marked one with a white dot. Nit-pick resolved.

Other Thoughts: Wire length: just enough for device on waist. I thought it would be long enough for the computer on my desk. Apology to Newegg for not getting the eForCity extension cable in the same shipment.

I can turn the TV volume all the way up and could use more, but can't say I need more. In my computer they go plenty loud.

5 out of 5 eggsGood for the price

This review is from: Yamaha - In-Ear Headphones (EPH-20) BLACK

Pros: Got these on sale for $12.99. I am pleased with the purchase for the price. I was somewhat skeptical given the frequency range specs (which covers the audible spectrum), but higher-end earbuds normally exceed that, particularly on the low end if they advertise "great bass". If I tweak the bass response with my equalizer settings it plays the bass clearly without distortion unlike other earbuds I own. I don't own any high-end earbuds to compare against, but I subjectively think they produce very good sound for the price when compared to my over-the-ear headphones.

Cons: The sensitivity is rated at 103dB. With my laptop volume cranked all the way up, the earbud volume is just slightly louder than normal listening level. If the sensitivity was higher, they would have much better volume headroom.

Other Thoughts: The sensitivity is not enough to remove a star (but almost). The sound quality provided for the price is still 5-star for me.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent

This review is from: Yamaha - In-Ear Headphones (EPH-20) BLACK

Pros: Comfortable, stays in place

Cons: Bass is only ok
Not as clean and sharp as I'd like

Other Thoughts: Bought the Yamaha EPH-20 for $20 and Sennheiser CX-200 for $25 on the same order from Newegg, figured I'd use the better one on my 4th gen iPod Touch and the other for occasional listening at work. Tested both with same set of songs and podcasts on iPod Touch. All songs are MP3s from a major online retailer - Foo Fighters Wasting Light, Foster the People Torches, OAR Shattered, Scorpions Comeblack, Snow Patrol Fallen Empires, Ladytron Ghosts (Blestenation), Gym Class Heroes Stereo Hearts, Chemical Brothers Escape Wavefold, Skrillex Syndicate Remix. Last two in particular highlighted Sennheiser's deeper/cleaner bass. Yamaha is competent but for me the extra $5 spent on the Sennheiser is money well spent. Bonus on Sennheiser is a little clip to manage the cord and a higher quality "Y" junction where the left/right cords break off from the trunk.

1 out of 5 eggsFail

This review is from: Yamaha - In-Ear Headphones (EPH-20) BLACK

Pros: Cheap *if you got them for $13*

Better than standard earphones you get with mp3 players etc.

Cons: Where do I start!
-The bass is really awful. If you are looking for nice sounding earbuds with a good amount of bass... do yourself a favor and avoid these please!

-The cord is WAY too short!

-The sound makes my ears want to bleed after a few minutes

Other Thoughts: I ended up ordering 2 altogether after my Sennheiser 202 bit the dust, and I wish I would have not seen the sale on these earbuds. The earbuds are better than ipod headphones atleast, but are really fail if you are use to nice sounding headphones.
