5 out of 5 eggsBest bang for the buck in single-ear/speaker USB headset

Pros: Excellent price-point, can be left or right ear, has only 1 ear/speaker (which many people like and/or need), USB, works wonderfully under Linux, Mac & others. Has not only a swivel mic, but it is on a flexible, "positionable" boom so one can use either left or right ears, as well as position the mic where they need it (away, close, up/down, etc). I really do not use the in-line mute/volume, but they are there and work.

Cons: Not the highest-quality construction, but for the price it's as good as the single-ear units costing more, and certainly beats most others in the price range. I also have had the "tightness" of the swivel mic completely loose it's "grip" over heavy, constant use and swapping ears (left-to-right, vice-versa). Not an big issue, as it just rotates down to the lowest point and I can flex the mic boom up to where I need it.

Other Thoughts: I always joke with my friends to buy the "crummy +1" headset, meaning: don't get the cheapest, but the next one up. Well, this is usually the cheapest and it's lasted the longest. All headsets and headphones seem to have quality issues with the wiring (from USB to headset, and/or in-line volume). Even MUCH more expensive units, so I try to keep my investment limited (especially since headsets are not a major component for me). I only use the headset to chat (mumble, skype, TS, etc. even vent if people are still stuck with that). I've had three (3) of these over the last 8-10 years or so, and they always last a couple years. The foam on the ear will wear out over time (long time), but for the price I pay, the amount of use I get is staggering.

3 out of 5 eggsMeh

Pros: Easy to set up, just plug it in and go.

Cons: The microphone boom is a little too short. I prefer that the mic be closer to the front of my mouth, this one sits in the middle of my cheek. Really cheap cord, I removed the clip to reposition it and wound up exposing the wires due to the cheapness of the cord. Luckily with a little electrical tape I was able to fix it up.

Other Thoughts: Wasn't expecting perfection for the price. I suppose it will be a good temporary/backup headset.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent for the price

Pros: Great noise reduction both in the ear and for recording, comfortable for long wear, great for internet phone and gaming

Cons: tight when first purchased, wires wear out if mic swapped from side to side too often

Other Thoughts: I've had a total of three of these, and while I wore out the first two, they lasted with a little splice repair. The first one died to being stepped on, the second died from swapping the mic too much. The one I have now has lasted a year plus, and so far I haven't swapped the mic a lot. Fantastic for gaming and internet phone without having to go entirely through the headset, it's wonderful to have my World of Warcraft sounds through my speakers and still be able to talk on Skype or Ventrilo without interference, and no one has any problems hearing me with many fans going, or my loud computer fan.

3 out of 5 eggsAcceptable for the price

Pros: Does what it says.
nice foam padding on the ear piece.

Cons: Low audio quality.
Will override your default speakers and will run everything through the headset.

Other Thoughts: Moderate Mic Quality.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Headset.. for about a year.

Pros: USB, Adjustable mic, comfortable, great quality for the price

Cons: once the mic is loose, there is no way to adjust it, making it kind of useless.

Other Thoughts: If this headset had a microphone that did not pop off after about 11 months, or become extremely loose after 11 months, this headset would be the ultimately perfect headset.

1 out of 5 eggsBroke in 3 weeks

Pros: one ear, comfortable, USB

Cons: can't hear anything anymore

Other Thoughts: I use it several times a week, but I can no longer hear anything through the headphone. When the problem first started I could hear the audio breaking up and then nothing. I would jiggle the cord until audio came back and it would work for a little while but then stop working again. Finally it stopped all together. I changed the sound to go out to my regular speakers and still use this as a mic until I can find a better one ear USB headset. Another reviewer mentioned the cheap soldering so I will have to take a look at that, but that really shouldn't be necessary.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks as expected

Pros: 1 eared headset/mic that works.

Cons: It is a little on the lower end of quality but I expected that with the price.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Was comfortable. The microphone was easily adjustable.

Cons: All the sudden people said they couldn't hear me over ventrilo. Upon close inspection I quickly noticed one of the connections on the inside looked like it had previously been soldered on with barely any solder.

Other Thoughts: I've had better $12 headsets in the past. First thing I've ever bought from CA that I wasn't impressed with when comparing price vs. quality.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for gaming

Pros: one-ear, comfortable, USB, price

Cons: boring looks, but who cares?

Other Thoughts: I use this for Ventrilo. I didn't want a bulky set that covered both ears since I like to have the game music coming out of my surround sound system. Because it is USB, you can set Vent audio in & out to go to it and leave everything else to the speakers without having to have two sound cards. (Many games have an option to mute speakers when pushing the Push To Talk button - definitely use it so people can hear you and not your speakers). It's sturdy, it has a long enough cord, and I've never had a problem with anyone being able to hear or understand me when using it. It's adjustable so it is comfortable too. I have long hair and this headset doesn't get tangled up in it. You can bend the mic out of the way if you are just listening. It makes you feel like a telemarketer though, but that's really the only con.
