3 out of 5 eggsLasted a while

Pros: It had good volume and lasted for quite a while. Good long coiled wire.

Cons: Hurts your ears very quick, and after several months I lost audio on the right side

1 out of 5 eggsNot so good

Pros: Clear sound, decent bass, good for video games

Cons: HEAVY, Another review mentioned left side being louder that right, I thought the guy must have had hearing problems, but he was right. Annoying, Why is left side louder?

1 out of 5 eggsBig Bass- Mids & Highs "Muddy"

Pros: I'd would give the packaging, accessories and comfort an "A".

Cons: I first tried the headset with my theater receiver, hoping that I could get a simulation of a good sub-woofer. The only thing that was outstanding was the bass- and that was a bit over-bearing. The highs were not crisp, neither was the mids. The dialog is what suffered the most. Forget hearing the "ting" of a BB hitting a tin can up close.

I thought I'd try the set with just music from a CD; it was the same. I thought maybe I was too used to my other set that I also got from Newegg. I put those on and I'm sorry, there is just no comparison- and the price was a lot less by far.

I am going to keep them, although I don't like the muddy output. They will do in a pinch- if every headset breaks and I have no other, except these.

Other Thoughts: I have not run an official test on the headset with lab test equipment, but by listening and watching a wave pattern of a tune I have been listening to for years tells me that the dynamic frequency response of this headset is 20Hz - 200Hz- anything above that just drops well below average 0 db.

4 out of 5 eggsgood for light-avg use, casual mixing

Pros: For casual use, as an entry level price with extras its a difficult selection to beat price-wise. I use these 1-3 hours a day, and for events where i need a set of cans of my own to use.

Cons: They are a little heavy compared to some Audio Technicas and Senn's I've used in the past, and a bit tight at first. The sound quality is good, but previous reviews have said they are a little bass heavy; +2db isn't much but its not really good enough for professional equipment, that's why I would recommend these for a causal use, or a backup pair.

Other Thoughts: They aren't perfect but more than excellent for the price, and they are exactly what I need for personal use.

4 out of 5 eggsgood for music listening

Pros: Open Back - good for listening to music; more comfortable than my Sennheiser HD280s.
Good detail and frequency range
Better bass response than my HD280s.

Cons: Don't trust the high end and midrange response for mixing.
More comfortable than HD280s isn't much of an accomplishment - wish they had terry cloth or velour ear pads.

Other Thoughts: Great headphones for $40. Wouldn't use them in a professional setting. Would be a little apprehensive about paying $100 on them.

5 out of 5 eggsClean sound, nice look/feel and nice cable options

Pros: Good for sampling/composing and mixing with a relatively flat frequency response (doesnt amplify bass n such), I like the detachable 1/8th inch thin cable and thick spiral 1/4 inch cables (with a 1/8th inch adapter)

Cons: A little awkward to handle since they tend to fold in on themselves. Also they wont stay firmly on your head if you tilt them back.

Other Thoughts: Amazing deal at $40 w/ promo code. I prefer the open style so I don't have to keep taking them off whenever someone wants talk to me.

3 out of 5 eggsOkay

Pros: Crisp sound. Comfy, style is decent. The jacks are all gold plated and it folds which is a plus. It also includes a coiled wire and a straight wire which includes a mic (good for gaming).

Cons: The left headphone puts out a lower volume than the right, which is somewhat noticeable. Also, the left headphones make a rustling noise every time I adjust the headphones and playing music at higher volumes distorts mid and high pitches a bit.

Other Thoughts: I would try to get a replacement but the shipping cost was like $11, which is a bit over 25% of what I paid for the headphones themselves, which was $40 with a promo code. I think I'll just hold on to them and get a nice pair of Sennheisers or Pioneers.

4 out of 5 eggsmixed

Pros: sound for games, cushy ear muffs , ventilated ear pads, not closed

Cons: heavy for me, They have ventilation holes which allow ambient sound in. Not good for using in busy room

Other Thoughts: Fatigue sets in for me after an hour, can still hear my wife so a fail. Sound is OK but neck ache is not fun. Not worth it unless in a silent room or you're living alone, due to ambient noise leakage. Sound is fine for gaming, not a lot of bass for explosions.
