5 out of 5 eggsBang for your buck

Pros: I'm no audiophile so to me they sound excellent, for music and for games. Games like BF3/BF4 with awesome sound design make them worth the price. They're sturdily built, have a great design and aesthetic feel, and are very comfortable overall. The replaceable ear-cups were the difference (see other thoughts). Plenty of cables and adapters for different configurations. Bought them based on an article on PCGamer for best overall quality/price. Definitely worth it.

I'm feeding them through an EarForce Dolby 7.1 Surround Sound module (ironically from a different headset that are now long gone), and they sound excellent. Even without the module the quality is great.

Cons: For my slightly larger than average head and ears, they were a bit tight at first. I couldn't wear them for extended periods of time without adjusting them constantly.

The detachable mic is OK at best. But I bought these for the comfort and quality; the mic is basically a bonus. The slider next to mic input on the little volume control box doesn't seem to do much. I tested a sound recording with the slider in both positions and it didn't make a difference. Same with the button on the bottom. Seems kinda useless but maybe I did something wrong.

Other Thoughts: I was literally on the Newegg RMA page ready to return them, because I was torn between how awesome they sound and how much they hurt my ears after too long of wearing them (1 hour+). I remembered about the velour ear cups that you can replace the default leather ones with, but there were no instructions on how to replace them that came with the package. I was able to find a YouTube video showing how to do it, and it's actually quite simple, just takes a bit of patience. After replacing one of the velour cups and comparing that simultaneously with the leather one that was still on, I knew immediately it was a lot better. Now I'm sitting here writing this review with them on and they're super comfortable. It's not so much about the material, either; the velour ear cups are just slightly larger and fit my ears a lot better.

I previously had bought an ASUS Vulcan headset, and that is still the most comfortable headset I've ever worn, but these are a close second.

Tl;dr the replaceable ear cups are great for those of us with slightly larger heads/ears.

2 out of 5 eggsGood build, but not too satisfied.

Pros: I like the feel of the cups on my ears. They fit very snug and the cups are soft. Its almost as if I'm not even wearing the headset. Sound quality is really good in terms of hearing minute details. I would recommend this for a CSGO player or the likes.

Cons: I was absolutely disgusted with the microphone. A personal preference of mine is to be able to hear myself when I speak. Even with playback volume at 100%, I still could not hear myself AT ALL. Everybody I skyped with on this headset said that "It sounds like you're playing hide and seek with a pillow. You sound fine in the beginning, and then its as if you're slowly lowering a pillow over your face." Also, the temporary mute button is extremely useless, and whenever I press it, my ears bleed from the inane static and feedback that I get. The Bass/Treble levels on the speakers do not adjust properly at all, and it is very Treble-heavy. Its kinda irritating to not have any Bass levels in my sound.

Other Thoughts: I was so displeased with the headset that I ended up sending it back. I went back to using my Turtle Beach X12's because I can hear myself and the levels are a lot more balanced. I have no intentions of buying a headset from HyperX again. Yes, the box does feel like a $200 headset, but judging the headset by the box was my first mistake. I would not recommend buying this headset if you are looking for a lot of Bass, being able to hear yourself, and a balanced level of audio octaves.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Headphones I've Owned

Pros: Feel comfortable for hours, first night I got them I did a 24 hour streaming session and never felt the need to take a break for my ears alone. The ear cups are amazing, and the headband is just as awesome. The sound quality alone would be worth the price tag, the surround sound and audio quality alongside the good mic put this at 5 eggs easily.

Cons: The packaging made me feel like i accidentally received 400$ headphones and I felt guilty.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome headphones

Pros: Very comfortable, excellent sound quality

They look super sexy with the red over the matte black finish

Very sturdy braided cable

Packaging looks very nice with a travel pouch if that suits your fancy

Excellent build quality, looks and feels like $200 headset

Overall, feels like a very solid headset, one of the bets for the price

Cons: Nothing major. Cable comes out from the left ear cup, as my computer is on the right, the overlap is a little odd, but I've found an easy workaround

I'd say my head is of average size and the headset fits perfectly with the adjustments pulled all the way, not a problem for me but maybe for someone with a bigger head, not worth taking an egg off

Other Thoughts: Loving this headset, I will probably post another review after a little more experience with them

5 out of 5 eggsIncredible Value

Pros: Very comfortable and great noise cancelling. Works well in relatively loud situations without having to turn up the music very loud. Works well with every genre of music that I have listened to thus far. (Electronica, dubstep, various vocals, classical, ect.)

Cons: While I have a relatively large head, I comfortable fit using the maximum setting on the extensions. I see this could be a problem if you have a very large sized head.

Other Thoughts: Works great with all types of music, and I have had no problems yet with the microphone, which sounds clear. Other than that the only issues would be it being uncomfortable for people with exceptionally large heads

4 out of 5 eggsLike You're Wearing A Cloud

Pros: These headphones are beautiful, even the packaging. Everything about theme is beautiful. The sound quality on my HTC One M8 is phenomenal. On my PC though it's about the same as my $13 pair of headphones, I guess my motherboard sucks and can't drive these. The cable is braided and amazing. The microphone is detachable. Comes with more accessories than you'll ever need. As well as more cable than you'll ever need. Oh, and this headset are amazing comfortable. My last pair of headphones hurt my head extremely bad after a couple hours of use. These I forget I'm even wearing them after a long gaming session.

Cons: The left adjustment broke in less than a week. It isn't unusable but I can feel that it isn't quite right. It now slides instead of clicks into place, which can be annoying because it can slide into different positions. The mic isn't the best but you can replace with pretty much any other 3.5MM microphone.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: +Sponsored by Esports(Dota2)(Main reason why i bought it)
+Mic is Detectable. Nice if you eating food and don't want pizza on you mic(Rip old mic)
+Headset Sound quality is great.
+Made with Metal parts not plastic.
+This Box that it came with is Award winning.
+The box makes itl look like its a 200-300$ item. (This is better packaged than video cards.)

Cons: -Mic is a pain to remove the static noise. In Teamspeak(VOIP) you are going to have to check the "Remove background noise" in advanced options.
-For the price the mic could be better, but its not bad after you remove the static noise.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Cans!

Pros: Comfortable
Great Seal
Great Sound
AAA Build quality
Detachable Mic
Lots of cable options

Cons: A little bass heavy
extension cable not braided
Inline controls feel cheap

Other Thoughts: What a fantastic pair of headphones. The sound is rich and immersive. I purchased these to go along with my Asus Xonar sound card and they make a great pair.
I've owned headphones from phillips to bose and everything in between. Being a gaming headset I wasn't expecting much but I was blown away from the first test track. These easily outclass phones costing twice as much.
The bass is a little heavy but it doesn't muddle the rest of the audio. More importantly the bass is tight and responsive. The sound profile is very much inline with with today's music.
The cable system is great. It includes an extension to get it from the back of your tower to your desk. Without the extension it is long enough to reach the front audio header and still leave enough cable to move your head around. There is an additional extension that includes a volume / mic control unit. I tend to not use inline controls. The components and switches tend to be low quality and can interfere with the quality of the audio. It's nice the inline controls can be removes all together.
The detachable mic is good option and allows the phones to be plucked from the PC setup and carried on the road or office.

5 out of 5 eggsH*LY COW ONLY 70 DOLLARS!? (seriously newegg? offensive word?)

Pros: Packaged like i bought a 10 grand bottle of wine opening this put a smile on my face it was awesome. sound quality is amazing for the price point, really, it's amazing. combining this with my sound blaster z's Crystalizer function it now sounds like a several hundred dollar high fidelity headset.

Cons: Way too much bass not nearly enough mids or treble. After switching ear cups from leather to the cloth it came with this allowed the headset to be semi open improving the smoothness. then an additional half hour of making an aggressive treble oriented EQ profile the sound is finally where I want it.

Other Thoughts: pretty sure the speakers are still breaking in after a brief 5 hours of use. I'm already pleased with the sound and it's only getting better. make sure you have EQ software available to you unless if you're a bass head or the sound signature might make you sick. the size of this headset. uhm? was the design model a smurf? i have it lengthened all the way and it fits perfect at that size but my head is average so, it could be a problem for someone with a larger head keep that in mind
