5 out of 5 eggsGreat Camera

Pros: Great litle camera. There is no driver disk with the camera, but after download from their website, instalation was 5 minutes task. Rotating the lens focuses it for super sharp picture. Works with Skype no problems after enabling video in Skype. Don't know why some people have so much problem - maybe because of different operating system. I use WinXP. Can't comment on the LEDs since my area is well illuminated. Also don't use the built in microphone, use the one in my headset. Overall, great little camera. Can't beat the price for 1.3MP webcam. Thinking about buying couple more.

Cons: Cable could be little longer. It is about 4 feet, would be nice another foot or two. I have my CPU on the floor and the camera just reaches to sit on top left corner of my monitor.

Other Thoughts: Great service from Newegg.

4 out of 5 eggsGood webcam

Pros: Good price, high quality video even in low light. Easy to install. Have face tracking.

Cons: can't turn off LED light unless unplug the usb.

Other Thoughts: the microphone work with window xp but can't seem to get it to work on window 2000 yet.

1 out of 5 eggsDo not buy this product

Pros: Small compact product. Fairly clear image with 1.3 Megapixel resolution.

Cons: The product does not work with Skype. Xtatix customer service is worse than non-existent. Their customer service hours are Mon, Wed, Fri from 3:30 - 6:30 and after multiple calls and messages on their support site I never got any response over a period of five days.
Cord is short and audio input not possible unless you are plugging into USB on back of computer. Also, led lights stay on in dark room unless you unplug product. I am a Mac user and they offered a driver for Macs but never could get to work other than on my desktop.

Other Thoughts: I ordered thinking "Seventeen dollar rebate and a 1.3 Mp resolution and Mac driver. Worth a try." Wrong!!! A free product can be costly in time and aggravation. Buy another webcam, not this one. NewEgg's service was clean and clear: They will be refunding my purchase price upon return.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat little thing

Pros: installing drivers was a 2-minute chore, didn't even have to restart my computer, did have to chaneg some settings in skype to get it to play automatically but had it running and working amazingly well within minutes... mic is working amazingly well, focus is perfect, installation a breeze, I love it...

great little thing, A+

Cons: close to none

Other Thoughts: didnt figure out the lighting yet, i seems if it gets dark in the room it turns on extra lighting, so far in daylight with a sunny window behind me its a little bit saturated, but nothing serious, it is pretty sunny outside...

1 out of 5 eggsNice design BUT....

Pros: The pros would be the clip, the illuminating LEDs, and the cost. However, none of this matters if the product does not function as advertised.

Cons: I could not get this to work under Windows XP or Mac OSX. Downloaded drivers from mfg. web site. Fresh install, multiple reboots...very frustrating!

Other Thoughts: Better to spend a little more for a mainstream model. A webcam should be up and running within minutes. This one was not worth the trouble.

1 out of 5 eggsOkay Design, Poor Drivers

Pros: 1. Cheap.
2. LED (though I haven't figured out how to control them!)
3. Good resolution.

Cons: 1. No Linux driver exists. The device reports as "ID 0c45:6270 Microdia" (snc9c201 chipset.)
2. Windows driver not WHQL certified.
3. Requires usb *and* microphone port, max 8" between them.
4. The clip is small. Too small even to fit my flat panel monitor.

Other Thoughts: Not worth the trouble. Look at the support website before you waste time on this one. Spring for a logitech instead.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat camera

Pros: The quality is excellent. The price is great and it works with every piece of software I have tried in Windows.

Cons: You have to go to the website for the drivers, but its not a big deal.

Other Thoughts: I'm not sure if it works in Linux haven't tried yet. I thought mine was broken, but apparently there is a focus feature by rotating the lens, which is just another good feature to have.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Value

Pros: Great image quality for the price, works great so far. Easy installation, does what it's supposed to do.

Cons: no included software, drivers need to be downloaded. Included USB cord is short, about three feet long. Had to use a USB extender for it to reach my tower.

Other Thoughts: Drivers aren't too much of a hassle to get working, works with any software which uses webcams (Skype, Yahoo!, MSN, etc) Can't beat it for the price.

5 out of 5 eggsGood bang for the buck

Pros: The picture quality in the dark room is simply amazing! The 1.3mp picture is crisp and clear. Fast updates to the PC from the cam. The clip makes it easy to attach to most any ledge (would not attach to the top of my BenQ or Dell flat-screens though).

Cons: The USB (and Audio) cord is very short - about 4ft short. If your computer box is placed on the floor the cord will only be able to reach the top of your desk at about keyboard height. I had to purchase USB and Audio cables to extend this distance so it could be placed at eye-level (about where the top of the monitor is).

Other Thoughts: No software is included, but is very easy to install once you download it from the manufacturer's website.

Works with MSN messenger - and retains the "last-used" settings, also has a "save/load/default settings" option in the cam options page.
