3 out of 5 eggsDecent mouse, NO WAY WORTH >$100 LOL

Pros: * 9 mappable buttons (not 11 as advertised)
* decent overall build quality and a very solid feel
* sensor is accurate _when coupled with the right pad_
* apparently no forced interpolation/acceleration/prediction
* the 2 wing buttons are a huge plus, essentially providing 4 main buttons for the index and middle fingers
* scroll wheel down click feels good, as does the clickiness of most other buttons
* can't remember when i got this mouse, but it's lasted at least 5+ years and still going strong
* 3 very large, good quality mouse feet

Cons: * very stiff cord doesn't flex well, thus adding resistance to mouse movements
* mouse wheel scrolling has a very light feel - no solid clicking which, IMO, is not conducive to a gaming mouse
* cheap rubberized finish wears off
* finicky laser sensor only works with certain pads (and not all pads CM sells) - also laser is inferior to optical and should not be used for gaming mice
* very heavy! this could be a plus or a con
* there are NOT 11 mappable buttons as advertised - there are 9 - a firmware update promised by a CM rep years ago to remedy this never materialized - still asking CM about this years later and getting nowhere
* configuration software is typical, hard to read bubble-gum (skinned) goofiness at its worst
* you have to contact support to get a firmware update - firmware is not available on their website
* 2 of the 4 screws to disassemble the mouse are hidden under the rear pads and it's easy to bend the stiff pads out of shape when trying to remove them - why do manufacturers do this???
* typical DPI marketing hype is meaningless

Other Thoughts: except for the ultra-cheap rubberized finish and inferior laser sensor (marketing gimmick), this is a fairly high quality mouse, but i would not buy it again and will scrutinize Cooler Master products much more closely if i ever bought from this company again

that CM advertises 11 mappable buttons is blatant false advertising - while there are 11 buttons, only 9 can be remapped and CM never delivered a promised update to resolve the issue

whose light-bulb idea was it to use a coat hanger as a mouse cord? that's about how stiff the cord is - i've had to form a big half loop in it and tack it to the wall to keep it from touching anything, else it drags and grinds against a textured mouse pad and adds resistance when the mouse is moved

5 out of 5 eggs5 hard use years of life

Pros: The configuration utility is usable, if not exactly a pleasant experience. It gets the job done and I appreciate the 5 settings for DPI.

Button features: overall they always did what I needed them to do. Again, not a super great UI.

I've had this since 2010 as my main mouse.

I am writing this review and then purchasing another one of these at twice what I paid for it 5 years ago! If it wasn't an undeniably great mouse, I would not buy it again.

Cons: Only in the last week has the cursor started acting up and it gets stuck moving the cursor in a straight line and I have to jiggle the settings and buttons to unfreeze the cursor. Seems to be getting worse, hence why I am buying a replacement.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Decent sensor. 5 dpi cycles, 5 profiles.

Cons: Software is pretty awful. left+right click is super muddy.

Other Thoughts: I spent $35 on this mouse a year ago. Pretty disappointed with it but it was cheap. I cant believe its $120 now. Definitely look for a different mouse.

Manufacturer Response:

1 out of 5 eggsWould be nice if it worked

Pros: nice profile switching feature, good dpi, good response, feels pretty good in my hand.

Cons: buttons fail quickly, the rubberized coating rubs off quickly, the profile button is easy to hit accidentally.

Other Thoughts: I used this mouse for... oh about a month before the left click button stopped returning when clicked. Click turned into click and drag = RMA'ed the mouse. it came back, and seems they simply swapped the insert that makes the button return from the left click to the right click, because within an hour of starting to use it, the right click failed. I might have the left and right confused (ie right click failed first, and on return the left faied) but I can't remember because I sent it in again for another RMA and it's been MONTHS and they have not only not sent the mouse back, but they haven't responded to my calls, either. So much for Cooler Master making decent parts and having passable customer service. Do yourself a favor and buy a Logitech (from NewEgg, of course). If it fails, you call them and they'll simply mail you a replacement - no questions asked and no return of the defective one, simply discard it.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Ken,

Please call us at 888.624.5099 ext 2 or visit our Fanzone to create a ticket. Have your RMA numbers handy and we'll look up the status. We apologize for the issues as this mouse has been discontinued and we can see what is going on/what we can do to help expedite this faster. Please let us help and we can help let you know what's going on.

2 out of 5 eggsBroke button, unusable mouse

Pros: Generally worked well before it broke. Good customization options.

Cons: One of the side buttons broke after minimal use. I had just started using one of the side buttons for Diablo 3. The button broke after maybe 10 hours or so of play. I had never used it in any games or applications before then. The entire mouse is now unusable as the button is permanently pressed. hen I use the mouse now, it will actually prevent me from clicking anywhere in some applications.

Also, even when it was working, I often had the problem of the pointer moving slightly when I clicked the main left button.

Other Thoughts: Unfortunately, I was a couple months out of warranty when it broke.

Manufacturer Response:

I do apologize this mouse has failed on you and furthermore, there is nothing we can really do as you are out of warranty. If you are in the market for a new mouse and need a suggestion, don't be afraid to contact us by phone 888.624.5099 or visit our fanzone to use the Livechat/Ticket Submission. Also, you can visit our CM STORM site for more ideas and see what options are available.

Please let us know what we can do to help.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It was a good mouse while it lasted.

Cons: the button placement did not feel natural to me while gaming. But the biggest issue is that the laser on the mouse just died for no reason.

Other Thoughts: I used it before leaving the house, left for 4 hours, and came back home to a pointer that would respond when the buttons are pressed, but the pointer would not move. Spent time trying to find if it was a corrupt driver, ended up plugging in an old mouse and it worked fine. The laser just died for no reason in the mouse while i was gone. Now i'll buy a new one, but not from this company. avoid this product. it is good but it is cheap enough to break all on its own.

Manufacturer Response:

I apologize for the troubles that you've received with your mouse. If you do not mind, please contact us by phone, 888.624.5099 or LIVECHAT/TICKET (links available in Fanzone) where we can help troubleshoot the issue with you. If it comes down to it, we can, also, replace the mouse for you under the 2 year manufacturer's warranty.

Please let us know how we can help.

3 out of 5 eggsA Good Mouse but...

Pros: See Other thoughts

Cons: See Other thoughts

Other Thoughts: I recently bought this (last November) and while it is GOOD, it isn't GREAT. Here's why:

Bulky SIZE: After hours of using my mouse for work and play, my (right hand) ring finger feels gets very sore. It's really not comfortable for long hours of uses. I naturally tend to place my ring finger alongside the remaining fingers to the side and keep my two clicking fingers on top. But with the design of this mouse, it's rather large so smaller hands suffer for the discomfort. I find myself placing my ring finger alongside my middle finger on top of the mouse to avoid the bulky discomfort. IF the sides of the mouse was more curved inside towards the front of the mouse, then comfort wouldn't be an issue for it's bulky size. I had a mouse (forgot what brand, maybe Logitech?) that was exactly just that and boy do I miss that mouse.

Minimal Sensitivity jerks: DO NOT GET any pieces of hair on the laser tracking pad or on the laser area itself, otherwise it can't "see" properly and will not move accordingly. This is probably the cause of random "jerks" on my mouse that moves the pointer randomly to some other direction. NOT FUN if your playing an online game that requires precise clicking/tracking/pointing/destroying. I have not (or ever) experienced the random "moving" of the mouse pointer though.

Useless thumb Side buttons: Unless your a gamer freak (or even if you are), tacking on more button's don't really make you a better player/computer enthusiast. The software that comes with this mouse can be a little confusing and I still haven't turned the buttons off yet, because accidentally clicking on them will "go back" on that webpage your visiting.

Everything else is a pro with this mouse though. Yet even still, I might buy a new mouse that better suit's my hands because the discomfort limits my enthusiast/work hours on this computer. Small hands, stay away from this mouse, it is better suited for big hands.

5 out of 5 eggsWhat an amazing mouse

Pros: * 3 fully customizable profiles and 1 default
* SOOO many buttons, all nicely located
* Powerful macro and script writing software
* Responsive buttons
* High quality construction and materials
* Feels great / looks great
* Long cord
* Well worth the full retail price, a no-brainer if you can get it on sale.

Cons: * It would be nice if there were clearer instructions on how to use the software, though it's fairly straight forward if you play around with it for an hour or two (maybe a few more if you're learning how to create macros and/or scripts).

* Would be nice if you could disable certain profiles, change the color of each profile, and swap the order of each profile quickly.

Other Thoughts: This mouse is freaking awesome. The number of buttons, how they're laid out, and the fact that they're all fully customizable are superior to any other mouse I've encountered in person or online. I can't imagine using any other mouse for gaming after using this one (I mainly play League of Legends, FPSs, and RPGs).

While it takes some time to learn the software, it's actually quite powerful once you know how to use it (creating macros is much quicker, easier, and more accurate than on any Logitech peripheral I own. I usually create a macro with the CS Storm's software, assign it to a button, then record that macro in my Logitech software if I need a macro on my Logitech devices.

I've been using this mouse for about 2 years now (for several hours daily) and it still feels like it's fresh out of the box. When it finally does reach the end of its life I fully intend to replace it with another just like it (or it's successor if it has been discontinued by that point).

5 out of 5 eggsLoving it

Pros: Love this mouse....I use it for bf3 bf4 and all my shooters even arma. I hardly have to use any keyboard controls due to everything is mapped to my mouse...rapid fire is a bit of a learning curve and if you good with math its easy.

Cons: dust and hair/fibers can cause the mouse to do krazy movement....just keep your mouse pad and bottom if the mouse clean with a can of air.

3 out of 5 eggsGood, Fair.

Pros: * I got this one for $29.99 plus $10 rebate
* Very comfortable in my hand
* Pretty
* Quick Profiles

Cons: * GUI its not 100% user friendly, doesn't show which profile is which color.
* When I tried to click, it moves 2 to 3 pixel away making a precision mouse into a normal mouse one.

Other Thoughts: Its good for the price but if you will use this mainly for gaming go elsewhere mostly if you play FPS
