5 out of 5 eggsIt's a mouse

Pros: this mouse is absolutely amazing. despite its small size it can really pack a claw grip punch. Yes I said CLAW grip but for people with smaller hands it's easy to palm it. The DPI switcher is nice and tactile as with the other buttons. The surface is a ridiculously comfortable soft touch rubber that just powers through sweat when on the heat of battle.

Cons: The software and customization is limited but I guess I should've seen that one coming.

4 out of 5 eggsCM Storm Spawn

Pros: ~very comfortable for claw/fingertip grip users
~clicks feel meaty, not light with some other mice
~not very heavy (which could also be a con for some people)
~decently affordable compared to other mice

Cons: ~rubber grips catch dirt in them very easily
~outside of the mouse click, it does feel rather cheap
~thumb buttons have lots of travel and feel squishy, not very tactile
~iffy sensor

Other Thoughts: Bought this back in 2012 after my old Intellimouse died and I couldnt find any reasonably priced fingertip grip mice.

Lasted 3 years almost to the day before my left click finally started double clicking, even after cleaning out the switch the problem stayed. Not going to place the fault squarely on the mouse because it was heavily used (lots of D3), but it didnt last quite as long as Id like.

Solid mouse for the money, good performance up until you meet its LOD, but look elsewhere if you want a mouse to last you for the next 10 years.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Value For Money

Pros: - very comfortable, great for claw grips. I think it's greatest for a palm+claw mix

- comfortable buttons as well, not too hard to depress, but not too easy to accidentally depress

- very grippy, rubber sides

- not too heavy, but not flimsy feeling (90g excluding cable weight)

- smooth feet, had it 2 years and still pretty smooth (wash the mouse pad, though, every 3-6mo)

- great avago adns 3090 sensor. you can get firmwares with lift-offs at 1.29mm or 4.88mm

- decent software, similar to the deathadder legacy interface; has macros, configurable buttons, angle snapping, etc (put it at 1000Hz poll-rate the first thing you do)

- good customer service, read other thoughts

Cons: - could have a braided cable, but not worth deducting an egg

Other Thoughts: I had this mouse go bad after 1.5 years, but I was still able to RMA it and it's working great again. It has a 2 year warranty, btw.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Budget Mouse!

Pros: I purchased this mouse on sale for $35 USD and it's a great peripheral for the price. This is my first claw-grip mouse and adapting to the new grip was no problem at all. There are sort of set places for each of your fingers. The mouse is comfortable to hold, move, and lift due to its design and shape. Its dimensions and weight is just right for me, but of course your mileage may vary. The mouse's optical laser performs well and is accurate, even when you slightly lift the mouse to reposition it. The surface of the mouse is rather easy to clean with a dry or barely-damp cloth. The left & right mouse button, DPI switches, and middle click are very satisfying to press.

- comfortable to hold, move, lift
- excellent shape and design
- good optical laser performance & accuracy
- easy to clean/maintain
- good quality switches in main buttons

Cons: I cannot say the same for quality the back and forward side button switches though - they feel somewhat cheap. The mouse's firmware can tend to misbehave if you click any of its buttons while your computer is off or booting, but that's easily avoidable.

- cheap back & forward buttons
- firmware may misbehave when computer is off/booting

Other Thoughts: Note that you can update your mouse firmware here:

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Mouse for the price

Pros: The shape is just perfect for my hand, Grip is awesome for its rather small size. The finish is great, its quite light and easy to move. The buttons and scroll wheel all work perfectly and the onboard memory lets you save your settings if you use it on other computers. The DPS buttons makes adapting to games much easier. Overall a great mouse for its price range

Cons: The program to change button settings is rather limited, more so I found the original button placement optimal at least for my uses so the program ended up being rather useless.

Other Thoughts: Definitely a good mouse that anyone should give a look at

2 out of 5 eggsClose, but not quite there

Pros: Mouse dimensions are great. I've been looking for a mouse that didn't sit too tall (better for preventing carpal tunnel) and this one fits the bill. The buttons feel good for the most part, although I'd prefer the side buttons to be positioned one above the other (its easier to move your thumb up and down then it is to move it forward and back)

Cons: I planned to map the side buttons to modifier keys (alt, ctrl, shift) which is very helpful when playing games that require a lot of key bindings.

The remapping software does not handle this scenario. Although you can remap modifier keys to the side buttons, holding down these buttons does not hold down the modifier key. In other words, clicking and holding (which is how modifier keys are used) acts the same as clicking and immediately letting go, which makes remapping modifier keys utterly useless.

After reading some reviews online, I decided to contact the manufacturer first (in case the issue was fixed in an update). I described exactly what I was looking for and was told that the mouse could do it.

I went on and purchased the mouse only to find out that the above-mentioned mapping problem still exists. I contacted customer service and after an exchange of a few emails, was told that the software flat out can not do what I was looking for.

It seems like a lot of people have been bringing up this issue. I don't think it would have been a very difficult thing to add some functionality into the software to handle these cases.

Other Thoughts: This is the first mouse I've purchased that wasn't a Logitech or razer product. I would have been a convert if not for the software issues.

Going forward I probably won't be purchasing any more CM products. I don't trust their software and I don't think I can trust what I'm told.

Manufacturer Response:

I'm sorry for all of the confusion surrounding the capabilities of this mouse. Though it can still support macros and simple one click modifiers, the advance technique which you wanting is currently not supported by this mouse or most of the mice that we carry. I apologize for the inconvenience. We are working on creating an indept knowledge base to help with these inquiries in the future for customers to reference through our CM FANZONE. We keep adding new guides every day. If you still have any additional questions or concerns about any future device, please call us at 888.624.5099 or use the Livechat/Ticket functions from within Fanzone.

3 out of 5 eggsbad customer service

Pros: Ok so I actually love this mouse. I did a lot of research on a mouse for a wide, short hand with a claw grip. This fits my hand like it was made for it. My only complaints about its features are NOT ENOUGH BUTTONS. I'd love a tilting scroll wheel, at least. It's the customer service why I am rating this mouse low. I will be happy to update if circumstances warrant.

Cons: OKAY so here's the problem. The wheel button is mushy and causes undesired clicks. It clunks from side to side. So I went to CM's site to initiate an RMA. I used FB to sign up for the account, I scanned in my receipt, and entered the serial # of the mouse. No problem, right? OOPS except then I got email from a support representative saying:

My name is Miguel and I will be assisting you with your question.
Have you created a Fanzone account, if you have not created one you will need to create one, and then register your product. As, soon as you do this you will have the option to create an RMA request. Follow all the steps and we will replace your RMA, as soon as we receive your product.

Then he closed my ticket. I did make an account, I did register my product and getting this email made me so effin mad!

Other Thoughts: SO YEAH I am pretty p-o'd at CM's support right now. I gave them everything they asked for, and they kicked it back and closed the ticket.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Dave,

I incredibly apologize for this situation and miscommunication. Please call us at 888.624.5099 or visit the fanzone again to speak to us via Livechat. Please have your previous RMA number handy and let us have a chance to clear up this mistake.

Please let us help make this better.

5 out of 5 eggssoft clicks

Pros: The button clicks are very soft -- keeps my finger from getting too sore from excessive clicking (tendinitis). The mouse is comfortable & precise.

Cons: has been about 10 weeks, no rebate yet, but it is processing.

Other Thoughts: if soft click is important to you -- then this mouse is great, I find it way more comfortable then the DeathAddler it replaced. getting a 2nd one for home. The mouse is on the smaller side, but feels comfortable in my hand.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Vadim,

I'm glad this mouse is working great for you. I see you are concerned about your rebate and wanted to give you a helpful link to help follow up. Below, I've provide a link to Status-Now which can be used to view your status and contact them, if necessary.

4 out of 5 eggsNice claw mouse

Pros: Let me first say that I like this mouse a lot. The size is perfect for medium-size hand claw-grips, with a nice softtouch style surface on the buttons. Once you find the right firmware update for your style (mainly having to do with lift), it can be dialed in nicely.

Cons: - Side, thumb buttons are quite cheap feeling, and don't depress well
- see other notes

Other Thoughts: The first one I bought ended up being a big letdown; after about 3 weeks the left click started sticking in the down position, making it impossible to do anything with and super frustrating in games, as it happened more and more frequently. So I RMA'd it, and got a new one a couple weeks later that hasn't given me any issues, but beware of that.
