2 out of 5 eggsGreat design, terrible mouse

Pros: -Build quality

Cons: This is the 3rd RAT 7/9 that I've owned. All faulty from the start.

This mouse is a beautiful mouse and it's very high quality. I love it. But it's terrible. The driver's are horrible and the sensor glitches all the time.

Most of the time the sensor refuses to detect vertical movement. I'm stuck with just left to right movement. The mouse jumps sporatically all over my screen and is very sensitive to noise. My mousepad is below my speakers, as are most peoples, and I find my cursor moving when my volume is high. I don't have these problems with any other mouses.

The software is terrible and doesn't load on bootup. I forget this and end up wiping many instances in SWTOR/WoW when my keybinds won't work.(I've since acquired the Logitech G600 to solve this problem).

Other Thoughts: It's beautiful, but I would not recommend this mouse to any soul. The problems with the sensor and drivers/software heavily outweighs any aesthetic bonus's this mouse may provide.

5 out of 5 eggsVERY pleasantly surprised by customer service.

Pros: First of all, the mouse is great. I have pretty big hands so many controllers or mice I've used are very uncomfortable for me to hold, and this is one of the only mice I've used that I can really get comfortable with. Some of the larger Logitech and Microsoft mice are comfortable too, but this one even has an optional pinky guard it comes with and upon which I can very comfortably rest my extra fingers that don't fit on the body of the mouse. If you have especially large (or small!) hands, this mouse will almost certainly adjust to fit you.

Second, and this is what motivated me to come on here to write this, I had an extremely easy and pleasant time with Cyborg's customer service. I was a bit worried when I found out this was technically a MadKatz product as I once owned some Xbox controllers they made that broke almost immediately, and have had other bad experiences with MadKatz before. I decided, however, to give them one more chance due to the merits of this mouse's design. Well, a couple of months ago (I've had the mouse for almost a year) the mouse started to occasionally left-click for no reason. I attribute this to my huge hands pushing the buttons too hard. Anyway, I put in an RMA request which was very quickly approved. I sent in the unit and, to my delight, they replaced it with a brand new one with no goading whatsoever on my part. I was expecting them to attempt a repair or possibly send me a refurb'd unit, but they not only sent me a brand new one, but it's a slightly newer model with a new pinky guard design and some more pleasing rubberized grips. This experience has sold me on this company and I'll likely be buying all of my mice from them from now on.

Cons: One tiny complaint: the allen wrench screws used to adjust and remove the components tend to collect grime from your hand and require occasional cleaning.

Other Thoughts: If you're worried about this being a MadKatz product, don't be. It's pretty clear they want these to be higher-end gaming devices and treat their customers appropriately for the price tags they put on Cyborg products. I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

5 out of 5 eggsBest mouse I've owned.

Pros: - Insane amount of customization on the software and hardware.
- Great extra buttons. The DPI-cut especially.
- The thumb scroll wheel is so smart. Personally I recommend binding the left and right arrow keys to it.
- The ability to switch profiles and dpi on the fly enhances workflow in all sorts of applications as well as gaming.
- Everything feels great and is well placed.
- Sturdy build
- Braided cable is really great.
- Again the customization is amazing. Unparalleled.

Cons: - Still can't get my default profile to load automatically.
- Programming software takes forever to open. Sometimes it never does.
- Pads on the bottom got worn down. It hasn't been to much of an annoyance , but I fear it might cause problems in the future.
- Thumb wheel doesn't work in some games (but is still awesome!)

Other Thoughts: The finish is nice, but can get grimy if you're not careful.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card!

Pros: Very quiet
Great price
I run games like arma and dayz at 50-60 frames on very high settings
Has never overheated

Cons: It's a little long so make sure your case is big enough but other than that, I have no complaints.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat!

Pros: I love this mouse! Coming from a $15 wireless mouse this is a major improvement. Doesn't feel cheap whatsoever. Customization of the mouse fits my hand perfectly!

Cons: White. I got it as a gift so I didn't get to choose :/

2 out of 5 eggsGood mouse, except for it freezes linux.

Pros: Weight & size adjustments.
Button features & layouts
Looks cool

Cons: When I first bought this mouse I was using it at my office on a Mac & every once in a while on a Windows machine. However, I'm a Senior Linux/Unix Admin so my machine of choice is Linux... Usually RedHat based. I've tried this mouse on multiple versions of CentOS & Fedora and it works for a few minutes. Then it will practically freeze the machine. i can still move the mouse, but the pointer will get stuck in whatever shape it has.. (text, hourglass etc...) and I can't click anything. sometimes I can click a few things but it NEVER works on popup boxes no matter whether the computer is frozen or not.

I had read up on the mouse and it had Mac drivers so I was hoping that since Mac was *nix based it would work fine. I understood I wouldn't be able to get the software. But the fact that it doesn't even function properly as a regular non-gaming mouse is just unnacceptable. There's obviously a huge design flaw in there somewhere for it to not work with even just the two buttons. I could have setup the other buttons manually through a little hacking of my linux Distro. But since the plain functions on it don't work I'm going to try and return it. I haven't used it a lot since I got it but if it's this buggy on Linux I'm sure there will be problems in others.

Other Thoughts: Honestly, I can't say I would recommend this mouse to anyone. I thought it would be cool because it was going to match my case & keyboard with the Black/White color theme. But honestly, if I can't get Newegg credit for this towards another one I'm going to be extremely unhappy and maybe stop using Newegg and I'm a pretty big user.

I bought a gift item a bracelet, and I didn't know that Newegg allowed other sellers now (becoming more like the company with the smile on it's box (newegg wouldn't let me post th ename)... Uggh. Most of what made Newegg so great was their customer service and quick everything). I went to Newegg for help and they said they couldn't do anything. So they allow sellers to sell things, but they offer no recourse. I received a tracking # and it as supposedly delivered but unless the package that was tracked was this weird large empty envelope I received then I definitely never received a single thing.

1 out of 5 eggsDouble Clicks

Pros: Feels good in my hand and the laser tracks very nice.

Cons: Left mouse button double clicks allot when pressed once. Unacceptable.

Other Thoughts: I gave Cyborg a chance and they did not shine so Im Sticking with Logitech for now on.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks fine. 1+ year in use

Pros: * Solid enough to play baseball with.

* Ergonomic like a dream - The reason I bought it is because the Logitech 550 mouse was causing my hand to cramp and nearly fall off. I am a web designer and I am on my computer for 20 hour periods all the time. I must have a comfortable mouse.

* Accurate

* Never one issue in over a year.

* Skyrim, StarcraftII, New Vegas etc... never had any problems with the mouse during gameplay. Over 550 hours of mouse testing on Skyrim alone.

Cons: I have seen some negative reviews about this company, Saitek and MadCatz and I wonder what are these people are doing with their peripherals? Using it in place of a hammer?

Over a year with it and not one issue. Also, if you get this mouse the drivers on the CD will be horribly outdated, best to go to the Saitek website and get the newest version.

Other Thoughts: Wife want's one too. That's why I'm here. To buy a second one.

2 out of 5 eggsAwesome mouse... when it worked

Pros: * When it worked, it worked great.

* The "sniper" button is a great feature, it changes the DPI of the sensor while the button is held to slow down the mouse for great precision.

* Nearly infinitely adjustable.

* Super comfortable once you got it adjusted just right.

* Build quality itself felt great.

* Cord is pretty flexible unlike some mice.

Cons: * Sensor dies after a couple months. It would randomly stop tracking horizontally or vertically until I unplugged it and plugged it back in. Absolutely unacceptable, especially in the middle of a game. It degraded over time, stopping more and more often, until I gave up. I tried several mouse pads, along with no mouse pad.

* MadCatz did replace the mouse free of charge, but the process took forever. I had to email them several times before I ever got a response to get the ball rolling. Sadly, the replacement started the same behavior after a couple months. I'm sure I could have got it replaced again but honestly it just wasn't worth it to me. I've read other reviews of this mouse and other MadCatz mice and have seen a lot of complaints about their sensors.

Other Thoughts: * I wanted to love this mouse, so bad. It felt great in my hand and I loved the feel of how well it was built and how heavy it was. I don't like a light mouse that I feel like I'll throw all over the place.

* If they would fix the sensor problem, then this mouse would definitely be 5 eggs. The sensor is the only thing wrong with this mouse, but sadly, with a bad sensor, it's not a usable mouse.

* Only got 2 eggs due to MadCatz replacing the mouse so I could try again. Otherwise it'd be just 1 egg.

* I'd probably try another Cyborg mouse once it was proven they fixed the issue and the sensor no longer died.
