Mad Catz R.A.T. 7 Gaming Mouse - Precision Aim Mode Mad Catz R.A.T. 7 Gaming Mouse - Precision Aim Mode

Precision Aim Mode

Hit your target the first time every time. Use the included Mad Catz software to set your desired Precision Aim speed (mouse sensitivity), then hold down the Precision Aim button to slow down mouse movement to a level that works best for you. You can even use the software to assign programmable features to the Precision Aim button, and then use it to execute keyboard commands like macros and key bindings--a deadly weapon that will hit your enemy exactly where it hurts the most.

Take Control of Your Games

With the included programming software, you can create an unlimited number of profiles. For example, create a unique profile for each game or character, or for different builds (sniper, tank, healer, and more). Within each profile, you can customize your DPI settings, set Precision Aim sensitivity, create powerful macros and set key bindings. Each profile allows for 18 user-definable commands via six programmable buttons over three modes.

18 User-definable Commands via 3 Mad Catz Modes

Toggle between three individual Mad Catz R.A.T. modes at the touch of a button. Change sensitivity or programmable button actions in an instant and gain immediate access to a mind-boggling 18 commands!

6 Programmable Buttons

Combine the programmable buttons with standard left and right mouse buttons and it all adds up to eight buttons with which you can punish your competition. Assign your choice of key gaming actions to programmable buttons to create your own custom profiles.

Customize Your DPI Settings

Four user-definable DPI settings range from 25 to 6400 and the DPI button lets you easily cycle through your custom settings.

1 out of 5 eggsGratz on the Trash

Pros: Years ago my first one of this same kind worked amazingly well!!!
(2-3 years ago that is)

Cons: just junk the old one from years ago felt nice and firm on real good plastic, but this new one felt trashy and made of extremely cheap plastic.

Other Thoughts: I swore by this mouse and actually convinced multiple people to buy this mouse and now I FELL REGRET!!! I even emailed them and they said that they had ISSUES WITH THE DRIVERS!!!!

I refuse to pay for something that doesnt even work.

1 out of 5 eggsPoor Software

Pros: Great feeling mouse in your hand once you get used to the slippery surfaces. Good weight.

Cons: Poor software. I couldn't get it to hold profiles making it "just a mouse" quickly. While it felt great in your hand some of the buttons on the side were awkwardly placed at least for my average sized hand.

Other Thoughts: Get the Logitech 700s. I have the mouse now it works with the Logitech software and my G13 flawlessly.

5 out of 5 eggsOne of the best gaming mice

Pros: Great design
Well made
Good software
Feels comfortable
Cord doesn't get tangled
Fast response time

Cons: Feels like plastic
Little bit tricky to adjust

Other Thoughts: I have owned this mouse for about 4 days now and have put in about 12 hours of games and general web browsing. Your hand doesn't get too sweaty during long play sessions. As I said before it's a little bit difficult to adjust and one of the screws for the thumb can come out, it's pretty easy to lose. The adjustable dpi setting is nice especially if you are playing as a sniper in a fps. All and all this is an amazing mouse.

2 out of 5 eggsPoor Quality

Pros: Various adjustments
Has different mappings and individual profiles

Cons: Small
Cheap construction
Sometimes profiles work, sometimes they don't
Minimal weights and poorly balanced

Other Thoughts: I have large hands and I was hoping this mouse would adjust to my hands. It didn't happen. Flimsy buttons squeak. Thumb buttons are located to far to the rear. It is very light and the weights make little difference. If I extend the palm rest it cause the front of the mouse to raise of the mouse pad. It has interesting features that are poorly implemented at a high price.

3 out of 5 eggsAfter owning it for awhile.

Pros: Still looks Nice as I stated before. Customizable settings are not as much as I hoped but still more then any other mouse I've seen so I still count it as a pro. DPI settings are still vary useful for gaming. Cord feels vary nice, High quality. Thumb rest is vary nice I am no longer dragging my thump along the mouse pad anymore. Large mouse fit for bigger hands. Works good for me. scroll wheel is nice to use and middle click works.

Cons: Now for the con's lot more then before. The buttons feel a lot cheaper then the first day I got it. It is to hard to press the sniper button. The Side wheel is mostly useless. You can program it to side scroll but you need to turn on the modes every time you start your PC. The screws start to loose there shape making them hard to unscrew. Some times I'm not sure how to grip it. my ring finger mostly. plastic feels somewhat cheap. mainly the forward and backward buttons. I fear this will fall apart soon and for something with the price of over 100$ that is not a good sign. I wish there was a pinky rest in between the default and the large getting out one. maybe one that slopes down from the side. The mouse gets dirty real quick, But can be washed off easy, Trying not to get the rest of the mouse wet is not so easy. the slot to tighten the side to side on the thumb rest doesn't stop it from moving in and out. If I want it out slightly pressing on it moves it back in and viceversa.

Other Thoughts: The tool on the back scrapes the palm of my hand. easy fix by slipping the palm rest back a notch feels more normal this way anyways. Not so sure if you need to use all three fingers for the mouse it feels awkward this way for me but seems to be the way to use it. Unsure the use of scrolling from the bottom of the mouse but I'm sure it can come in handy some time? \_(o.O)_/ I wish the thumb wheel would slide back just slightly so I can press the sniper button without having to move my hand in an odd way.

I know from what I've said it may seem bad? But it is not a bad mouse in many ways it is great! But in some it fails.

Good mouse, Needs some work in some area's. Price is bit steep. Programming is a useful addon.

4 out of 5 eggsIntresting

Pros: Love the DPI settings and the crazy amounts of customization. It looks Really cool and I love the color of it. Thumb wheel is a nice addon but needs to be programed before you can use it. Love how the tool is built into the mouse itself and the wire for it feels high quality. The index wheel for it feels nice. maybe would like it if it was moved up alittle on the mouse but it feels fine when scrolling. sniper button I haven't noticed much from it yet but maybe i need to change that later. DPI goes from super sonic all the way down to grandpa's slug bug. I find it most comfortable around the two mark. the left and right mouse buttons make a nice 'click' noise when pressed down.

Cons: The forward and back buttons feel alittle odd to me. maybe somewhat loose. My ring finger tends to like to grip the side of the right mouse button not so sure how much I like that but I wasn't expecting a mouse to feel normal right out of the box need to get used to it and then i'll see about it. 105$ is a lot but is a lot better then the last mouse I owned.

Other Thoughts: More personal problems then anything, Better then the last mouse I owned but I've had it for awhile.

MadCatz hope you try to win me back with this mouse!
