5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Mad Catz M.M.O.7 Gaming Mouse for PC and Mac - Gloss Black

Pros: Got a cyborg rat7 many years ago. After the wire somehow wound up split i decided to get the mmo version. 6400 dpi is awesome though every once in a while you gotta blow on the eye to keep it responsive but to me not really a negative. Overall pretty sweet mouse and i like the ability to create profiles.

Cons: Maybe i didnt notice when selecting shipping but it came via fedex smartpost. Worst shipping ever. supposed to be 4-7 day shipping and got it on day 10. If possible avoid using fedex especially their smartpost

2 out of 5 eggsReliability Issues

This review is from: Mad Catz M.M.O.7 Gaming Mouse for PC and Mac - Gloss Black

Pros: Extremely cool looking mouse, lots of buttons in all the right places.

Cons: I do a lot of serious gaming, tournements and whatnot, and compared to my g9(which was rock solid all the time no matter what) this mouse suffers from some serious issues.
If you have any sort of subwoofer system, small vibrations will cause your mouse to "wander" around the screen. This might just be a side effect of having such high sensitivity, which I accepted and kept on using it turning the subwoofer down pretty far. However I noticed another SERIOUS issue if you do competitive gaming. Tiny little specks of what I assume to just be hair and/or dust will make your mouse inoperatable. I am blowing out the bottom of the mouse at least twice a day because suddenly it will stop tracking. I am in a room without any animals, my g9 never had this issue, and it can really ruin a match if you have to suddenly start blowing into the bottom of the mouse and blowing on your mousepad.

Other Thoughts: In a mouse intended for gaming and this expensive, it is just not acceptable for the mouse to stop tracking. The G9, a much older mouse, handles everything you throw at it no problem, this mouse should be expected to do the same.

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Mad Catz M.M.O.7 Gaming Mouse for PC and Mac - Gloss Black

Pros: It's actually a 17 button mouse since the newest update.
There's a third party Windows app that allows for instant profile switching.
Customizability
Button layout
Visually pleasing

Cons: The mouse still feels a bit heavy even w/ all weights removed.
There's definitely a learning curve to the mouse. Personally, about three weeks.
The single button to the right of the mouse isn't customizable.
The left and right mouse buttons isn't customizable

In my early days of owning the mouse, I kept thinking I should return it b/c it felt uncomfortable. I'm happy I waited it out.

Other Thoughts: I'd definitely recommend this mouse to anyone who wants more buttons at their fingertips. With the help of the Cyborg Auto-Profiler app, I've created many, many profiles. Everything from my Windows desktop and Chrome, to complex games like TERA has it's own profile -- and they all switch on the fly!

When I mastered the software, which really isn't too hard to learn, I made a macro to hold down one button, and while that one button is held down, press another button every three seconds (which is when the cooldown is lifted). Amazing, amazing results.

1 out of 5 eggspoor software

This review is from: Mad Catz M.M.O.7 Gaming Mouse for PC and Mac - Gloss Black

Pros: Great hand posture. Getting old and clicking is getting tougher every day

Cons: Poor Software Does not stay loaded and profiles disappear after installing it. Tech support sent me a 10 point list to follow but the software never acted like his instructions. Also where are the software instructions that came with the unit all I see is a reference to madcatz.com to download the drivers.

Other Thoughts: Buter Be-ware

4 out of 5 eggsAmazing Gaming Mouse

This review is from: Mad Catz M.M.O.7 Gaming Mouse for PC and Mac - Gloss Black

Pros: The mouse is very adjustable for varied people. Allowing anyone to use it comfortably. The many programmable buttons allow fast ways to use some out-of-the-way keys. The many DPI settings allow the user to fine tune it to the perfect setting for them.

Cons: Every once in a while the mouse will decide to move in it's own direction, or just against the user. Also the mouse is a little expensive.

Other Thoughts: Although the mouse is a little expensive and has a minor tracking issue, it is very worth it if you are willing to spend the money.

2 out of 5 eggsLooks great

This review is from: Mad Catz M.M.O.7 Gaming Mouse for PC and Mac - Gloss Black

Pros: It worked well at first.

Cons: I unplugged this bad boy while the system was on. Plugged back in, and lost all connection to it minus lights. powered down and brought system back up, and it worked again. BUT I couldnt get the profile to reload. I tried everything. Drivers, software, firmware updaate(firmware update doesnt recognise this one...). I tried calling tech support. Phone message stated they were open until 5:30pm PST. but when I called back at that time it just dropped me off the line everytime I hit the number. I contacted the operator and she said they are 3pm pst. I have had no luck with their knowledge base on these issues and need tech support when i'm not at work. Are these guys bankers?? They must be at the prices they are charging for these things, and not giving easy access live support...

Other Thoughts: I wouldn't be that mad if I could reach tech support. I mean the knowledge base has a thumbs up/down system, and none of them have a rating over a single star(meaning alot of thumbs down) For the price of these things you might think, "Hey I bought into a great thing here. Good equipment, and good service." I have to say I have owned a razer product for almost 5 years. Never had an issue with it but drooled over this one here for about 2 years thinking this is the mouse for me. I paid alot for that one. 90$, but this madcatz thing is very fustrating. I like it, I do but the software is not reliable at all which=overpriced junk if you can't program it. I will return this thing if I can't get some support.

5 out of 5 eggsMadCatz M.M.O. 7

This review is from: Mad Catz M.M.O.7 Gaming Mouse for PC and Mac - Gloss Black

Pros: Great mouse. Sturdy construction with the RGB back-lighting really brings out a beautiful look to this mouse.

Cons: Every once in a while when I start my laptop it does not recognize the mouse but simply unplugging the mouse and plugging it back in will correct this problem.

3 out of 5 eggsmixed bag

This review is from: Mad Catz M.M.O.7 Gaming Mouse for PC and Mac - Gloss Black

Pros: love the customizable palm, thumb and pinky rest. mouse is wide i can actually rest my palm on it. Programing it takes 5 mins. Dpi helps me not move my wrist so much. Overall its pretty comfortable and i liked the weighted feel of it.Has plenty of buttons for different set ups.

Cons: Steadily its developed a short in the braided usb cord that is getting worse over time . as a result while raiding the saved profiles will get deactivated, meaning ill have to tab out of game to reactivate my profile multiple times a session. That and the page forward button hardly works in game.seems to work ok on test screen.

Other Thoughts: All though my mouse has some problems i still liked it.I not sure about its usb cord durabilty, hope they go wireless thatd be cool. overall i cracked 2 eggs because of durability and its price. i expected this mouse to last at least 2 years before i started to get problems.ill try to send it back on its 2 year warranty.

Other Thoughts: solid quality mouse
