1 out of 5 eggsThe worst earphone

Pros: None.

Cons: I would like to No-Star rating if possible.
There is no bass sound at all. I tested it on MP3 player, PC, IPAD, and compared it with other earphones. The sound is the WORST !
I bought it because of free after rebate. Otherwise, never ever buy this earphone.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Sound

Pros: Great sound, much better than I expected. I have high-end ear buds, but like to have some extras to use when I'm places where I worry I might lose or mess up the expensive ones. These actually had sound quality that was not a significant drop-off. They also fit well in ear. Not sure about the water-resistance or why that would be useful.

Cons: The left and right sides have a small color-coded ring. The right is red and the left is white. I don't mind it too much, but it does distract from the overall look.

5 out of 5 eggsPioneer Earbuds (but the rebate...ehhh)

Pros: Good quality, lots of extras, such as a soft case, extra buds of different sizes, a clip

Cons: The Rebate seems like it was designed 25 years ago, the kind that was designed to discourage participation. But, if that is the only "con"... never a problem!

2 out of 5 eggsOpposite of every other sport ear bud

Pros: It comes with 4 different size ear buds so you can definitely find one that fits.
With that, these are the snuggest ear buds I've ever tried and they stayed in without a problem through a 5 mile run and 20 mile bike ride. This requires the right earbud and getting them pushed in snugly. Never gotten ear buds to do this.
The cord is almost the perfect length for my armband; usually it's too short or long; they are right on the money.
They are water resistant (at least after one cleaning); which again is the opposite of every other ear bud.

Cons: All the good stuff (which I haven't found in a pair previously) is erased by underwhelming sound.
If not moving, these sound good until I turned it past 16 (out of 20); then the sound started to distort. I listen to electronic music when I work out so the bass just overwhelms these; as compared to my 8 year old Sony sport headbands. I listened to some mostly acoustical music as a comparison and that sounded fine but above 18 (out of 20); they distorted again.
Even the cheap headphones allow me to crank.
The sound aside, which I'd call serviceable, when you are working out things get worse. I turned the music down for my run/ride and thought it might be a blessing in disguise in saving my hearing by making me keep my music low: however any serious movement caused these to get off-center in my ears and they basically cut out.
The sound is still there but it's as if I had them inserted wrong in my ears on each impact of a step; they would then flex back into place and sound fine. Basically on each impact of my foot, these would muffle for a second.

They weren't slipping out of my ear, in fact they stayed perfectly in place but it's like the driver has to be PERFECTLY aligned with your ear canal to provide clear sound. I have never seen this before in an earbud.

In a way, it almost suffers from having the snuggest fit I've ever seen.

BTW, the snug fit block a lot of ambient sound which again was really great.

Conclusion: Pioneer managed to do all the things right that everyone else does wrong while at the same time screwing up the simplest thing that even the cheap ones get right.

Other Thoughts: I got them on a free after rebate, so they'll go into the drawer as an option of last resort. They are okay sound wise but I wouldn't spend any actual money on them.

1 out of 5 eggsno good

Pros: made it in the dumpster before the rebate came

Cons: i didnt win an nba title for slamdunking this in the trash.. I should have gotten major points for the three pointer from half court :). audio quality sucks, not worth it free or not after rebate. save your money and buy something worth something of value

Other Thoughts: dont buy :)

2 out of 5 eggsEverything but the sound

Pros: The looks and comfort.

Cons: The sound.

Other Thoughts: These are somewhat worth one egg for their ergonomics and comfort, also being able to wash them with water could be useful so here, two eggs. But they're earbuds and they're expected to play sound and they're horrible at that. The bass is nonexistent and sound is scratchy and metallic all around. You can kind of squeeze some bass if you work your equalizer, but you'll mostly get more rattling noise and little joy. And yes, I'm considering their low price, but I've had $2 Chinese earbuds that played lovely in comparison, so no, they're still too expensive for how bad they play...

1 out of 5 eggsTotal Garbage

Pros: pretty box?

Cons: I could go on and on, I read some of the reviews saying these where bad and it really doesn't even come close to convey how bad these are. Out of the box the left was intermittent. When they do work if you hold the cord in the right position they sound terrible. Using headphones that come with the iPhones as a basis these are way worse than either the 4 or 5 headphones. I mean NOT EVEN CLOSE. I threw them back into the packing box and will give them to my daughter I bet she throws them away. I have bought $15 headphones before and they sound 100 times better than this garbage.

Other Thoughts: I'm seriously out of a clue how the Pioneer name are on the box. This is the first bad experience with this name brand.
