1 out of 5 eggsWorked great for about 2 hours

Pros: Seemed to work nice when it did.

Cons: After two hours of use, it just quit working. Replaced the batteries and now the laser turns on for about 2 seconds before going dead again.

Other Thoughts: Would not buy again.

1 out of 5 eggslousy mouse

Pros: I don't know. Nice size? Moves smoothly (but see Cons).

Cons: Moves all by itself, all the time. The first mouse would usually not work. It would respond to movement for a half second then stop. Sometimes it would work for a few seconds... Reinstalled driver downloaded from Gearhead's site. Rebooted. Did the whole thing again. Tried on another computer. Same problem. Replacement received from Gearhead. Now the cursor moves on its own, across the screen. It quivers and shakes. You cannot do anything even slightly precise with it. Even selecting a file in a folder. Because of the motion.

Other Thoughts: Uninstalling the software entirely did help the quivering and shaking, but it is still there. Do not expect any precision at all with this mouse. Gearhead was unresponsive; it took two weeks for them to reply to our cust svc request, and then they made a big deal of having to have the mouse back in their hands withing 30 days of invoice date. Since I had been called in, it was several days before I troubleshooted it. Then a couple weeks before we received the RMA. What a waste of time.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent for the price

Pros: It's functional, has 5 programmable buttons, a 800/1600dpi selection button, and a small wireless receiver that can be stowed away on the underside of the mouse. I've been using the pair of AAA batteries that came with it without turning it off at night or anything for nearly 3 weeks straight now, and it's still going strong.

Cons: The only problem I've really noticed with it is that the tracking sometimes pauses for a split second, though that's usually only when I've not been using the mouse for a long time and then suddenly moving it. And another thing is that, though not really a problem, it does tend to me a bit of a fingerprint magnet on the topside of the mouse.

Other Thoughts: It's a decent mouse for the price, and unless you're going to be doing serious gaming or whatever, it's not a bad mouse to have for just everyday stuff and light gaming.
