4 out of 5 eggsNice sound, annoying cord

Pros: Nice sound quality, easy fit earbuds. They fit nicely in my ears when so many others haven't.

Cons: The cord has a really good memory from when it was originally packaged, making it really hard for them to lay straight. They bunch up and that can be annoying

Pros: - price: good headphones for 12.99
- good bass
- great sound WITH an equalizer

Cons: High range sound was pretty bad and metallic sounding.

My computers realtek audio drivers have an equalizer with the frequencies (100, 200, 400, 600, 1k, 3k, 6k, 12k, 14k, 16k). To get the best sound out of these i slightly lowered 100, slightly raised 2 4 and 600, slightly lowered 1k and 3k, greatly lowered 6k, left 12k around the default, and gave a moderate boost to 14k and 16k. Dropping 6k cancelled out the metallic sound but left the treble overall too quiet, necessitating a boost to the frequencies above it. The rest was very minor, mostly vocal-centric, tweaking.

I tested this equalizer setting on a variety of rock, hip-hop, pop, folk, classical, jazz, and opera, and found it made a huge improvement universally. There wasn't a single exception. The only commonalities were that all the music were high bitrate mp3s, my laptop, my ears, and the headphones. One of them had to be causing bad initial levels, and its almost certainly the headphones.

Other Thoughts: They can't seem to generate the bass properly unless they're fit snug in your ears, like 100% airtight. I'm not sure if that's really a con or a universal condition for this kind of headphones.

3 out of 5 eggsA little bit miffed

Pros: Sound Quality
Price
Comfort

Cons: None, except I believe Skullcandy is out to mess with me...see other thoughts.

Other Thoughts: Do these things actually come with 3 silicon tips or what? This is the second pair (the other being a blue pair) I have purchased that only came with 2 sets of the tips (small and large).
What gives?

2 out of 5 eggsFail

Pros: Cheap. Black color is in at the moment.

Sound is decent, does a nice job of producing both highs and lows.

Cons: Lets see. Was a little disappointed when I received these ear buds to find that they had no label for left and right. With music, I could see why you wouldn't care. But with some movies and tv shows, the designation matters.

The cable itself is plastic. The internal may be braided nylon, but that is kinda useless if you are hoping for a more durable cable like I was...

Mine also died after four months.

Other Thoughts: I dunno. $10 isn't a lot of money. But should earbuds really be that pricey? Labeling the buds w/ L and R seems simple enough. I also don't like that the cable wasn't the braided nylon that I was hoping for.

If you plan to travel with these, you should probably look for another pair. If you are going to leave them at a desk or chair somewhere..then they will probably do the trick.

5 out of 5 eggsBest. Headphones. Ever.

Pros: Everything. Great sound, great fit, look and feel. Quality, price.

Cons: Nothing.

Other Thoughts: I've gone elsewhere for headphones and even paid (way) more and I was disappoint. I have learned my lesson. Skullcandy or nothing! I'm going to buy a second or third pair just as a backup. Buying from Newegg and Skullcandy is a worry free purchase.

3 out of 5 eggsCant find an earbud that lasts

Pros: These have thicker wires - and I thought thicker wires might mean longer lasting.

Cons: I purchased these June 22, 2011 and just threw them away today because I need to frequently wiggle the wire to get both earbuds to work. Thus I got half of a year of use from these.

Other Thoughts: I just don't know which earbuds to buy that will last over a year.

I do not listen to music.
I listen to audio books on my way to work while riding the subway.

I don't care about frequency response, I just want earbuds which will last a long time

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for the price.

Pros: Great sound quality for under 20 dollars. I've been using these for over a year now and the only reason why I ever had to replace one of them is because my friend broke a pair when I let him borrow them on a trip.
The different-sized rubber heads really let you adjust them to your ears. I use the smallest ones and they fit in my ear perfectly and sound great.
They are comfortable and don't fall out or anything.
Also, they cancel out noise really well; my mom will sometimes come in my room asking me why I didn't hear her pounding on the door behind me.
The sound quality is comparable to some high-end headsets. It may not be studio quality (from $150+ headsets) but it certainly is much better than $15 sound quality. I recently got a new $60 headset and these sound just as good as that.
They are also really small, portable, and don't stand out too much.

Cons: The L and R markings on the headphones are really tiny and aren't a different color; they are located on the little rubber/plastic part beneath the skull logo. You'll need some light to figure out which one is which.
The 3.5mm connector isn't right angled, meaning that pulling it out of a device multiple times will reduce the lifespan of the wires as opposed to having a right angled connector to pull it out.

Other Thoughts: To extend the lifespan of your earbud headphones, don't wrap them around your mp3 player or phone!! That puts stress on the wiring and will eventually break the wiring out of the actual speakers. A lot of people do this and that's why their headphones break so quickly.
