Beats Solo HD
Beats by Dr. Dre Studio Over-Ear Headphone
An Icon Remastered

The world's most famous headphone has been completely redesigned and reimagined. The new Beats Studio® is lighter, sexier, stronger, and more comfortable, with precision sound, Adaptive Noise Canceling, a 20-hour rechargeable battery, and RemoteTalk™. It has all the energy and excitement you expect from Beats, plus a powerful, engineered sound.

Beats Solo HD

Feel Your Music

The Beats Acoustic Engine™ makes your listening experience intimate, personal, and real. Our signature DSP software is designed to generate the emotional experience that Dr. Dre, Jimmy Iovine, and some of the music industry's greatest rock, hip-hop, pop, electronic, and R&B producers want you to feel. This is how music would sound if the artist could play it back for you in person.

Put the World on Mute

Silence the noise from your daily commute or the drama from your loud neighbors with our no-compromise dual-mode Adaptive Noise Canceling. When you're listening to music, ANC automatically strikes a balance between your music and the world outside. If you only want to use the headphone to cancel external noise, ANC only mode automatically increases the level of noise cancelation, for a quieter world.

What Batteries?

Dead batteries can kill your vibe in a flash. The New Beats Studio fixes this with a 20-hour rechargeable battery. To prevent wasting energy, the Auto On/Off feature turns off the headphone when you unplug, and with the visible Battery Fuel Gauge, you always know how much juice is available. Forget specialized adapters; the New Studio can be charged via micro USB almost anywhere.

Lighter, Stronger, and More Comfortable

When we reimagined our legendary headphone, we designed it like a beautiful sports car and made disciplined choices. We streamlined the New Beats Studio with fast curves, smooth surfaces, and no visible screws. We shaved 13 percent off the original weight and gave it a lighter, stronger, and more comfortable headband. We created softer ear cups and an ergonomic bellow to create a flexible, custom fit for every head shape, so you can keep your music all to yourself.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Amazing sound quality, style is very nice. Best stylish headphones.

Cons: Price, batteries, whining people complaining about how not awesome they are.

Other Thoughts: People aren't intelligent enough to realize you're paying for the brand name as much as the item. If anyone owns an Apple product, you know what I mean. If you don't want to pay for the look, don't buy them. Anyone has the option to stick with their other ugly headphone brand.

1 out of 5 eggsLow Quality High price, Scam!!

Pros: none

Cons: it's so loud that u can hear music playing 10ft away. sound isolation only means the person listening music with this headset can''t hear outside????? i have a pair of very sensitive ears but the quality of the headset is match with my other pair from Sennheiser HD201 and costs at $25. Stay away from this none sense Low Quality High price piece.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Experience

Pros: These headphones have very high quality sound, especially for bass heavy music. These were bought specifically for a 27 hour flight and they worked like magic with the ANC and great sound quality. The detachable cable is very convenient when using headphones just for ANC. These headphones are also excellent when it comes to watching TV and movies as they have very deep lows and a wide range.

Cons: Using battery power is a bit of a hang up, but overall not a deal breaker because the batteries last well over 40 hours, I did not change them until long after a roundtrip flight for a total of 52 hours. The price is a little steep as I'm sure you could find comparable sound in a less expensive pair of headphones. But by no means can you even begin to compare the sound to a cheap $20 pair of headphones, the people that claim this must not have ears. The non-moving earcups and plastic band are the only other cons I can find after a year of use because I am always afraid I might break the band and be out of luck.

Other Thoughts: All in all I suggest that if you are a little weary you should stop at a local store that sells these headphones and test them for yourself before making a decision. It is worth the money if you will be getting a good amount of use out of these headphones and testing them will help eliminate any doubts from other bigoted reviews you may read, as with anything it is always a good idea to test drive things for yourself and form your own opinions.

2 out of 5 eggsBleh

Pros: They look nice... perhaps.

Cons: I was able to check these out at a local B_st B_y and let me tell you, I wouldn’t buy these if someone gave me the money free and clear. They might look nice and have a decent sound to them, but that’s where the positives end. The ear cups are too small, and I have small ears to begin with; the cups do not pivot much AT ALL, a huge no-no. These phones are made to set & forget it. Not many people do that. I personally like to adjust my phones to break up the monotony of keeping something in the same spot for extended lengths of time. You’re not doing that with these. Granted they’re made by Monster and that’s a big plus in most cases because for the most part, they use quality ingredients, but there is just no way these are worth even remotely what they’re selling for. Maybe ninetyish tops, and even then I would wait for a shell shocker deal.

Other Thoughts: The detachable cables are a nice feature, I did forget to mention that, but hell, I can modify that with a nineteen dollar pair if I really wanted to. The V-Moda Crossfade phones which ‘normally’ sell for a little more than a hundred dollars less are a much better deal IMO. And they get on the Shell Shocker list quite often. The Corsair HS series are spectacular phones for the money. They are worth their full price and even then they get cut in half during Shell Shocker deals. I got a pair of those for my wife who completely loves them. I have a Pair of Sennheiser HD 280 Pro phones and I would pay twice the price I got them for because they are that good. All in all, there are many headphone sets out there that are much better than these, so think long and hard before you plunk down the case for these ‘flavor of the week’ contraptions.

3 out of 5 eggsNOT PASSIVE HEADPHONES

Pros: Comfortable. Pretty good looking.

Cons: Paying 300$ you might think that they'd work without batteries. THEY DON'T.

Other Thoughts: Pretty decent headphones but I think they cost too much for what they are. I'd go with the Solo HD.

5 out of 5 eggsWorth The Price

Pros: Amazing Sound, Quality, Design. Portabillity, Ton Of Bass, The Perfect Hedphone For People Who Enjoy Rap, R&B, Hip-Hop, Pop, Rock, And Just About Anything Else.

Cons: Could Have Had A Better Build Structure

Other Thoughts: Monster Cable Is An Amszing Company

4 out of 5 eggsSolid headphones, with a purpose.

Pros: Excellent lows and bass detail, along with strong "hits". The design emphasis of these was clearly enhanced bass capability, and you will be rewarded if you listen to rap, electronica-house, dance or metal. Almost unparalleled bass in any headset. The active noise cancelling is excellent - very effective.

Cons: Average mid to high detailing - if you plan to listen to SACD jazz, acoustic guitar, etc, these will serve you, but it is not really their intent - and you should take your 300 dollars elsewhere. The active noise cancelling, while great on a airplane, cannot be turned off - headphones on, ANC on.

Other Thoughts: These headphones do warrant some care - I wouldn't call them fragile, but I treat them like a 350 dollar set of headphones. Additionally, substantial noise leakage - if you dial your rap album up to 11, the 4 rows in front and behind you will also enjoy Lil Wayne's newest music on an airplane.

1 out of 5 eggsLow Quality High price

Pros: None

Cons: Bulky, Cheap, Low quality sound, extremly expensive

Other Thoughts: These are the most overpriced headphones out there.
honestly i have 30 dollar earbuds that give more vivid sound than these. Get klipsch one on ear headphones, they have a better range for less than half the price

2 out of 5 eggsNot up to standards

Pros: Good Bass
Good Design

Cons: Only good sounding with some songs,
Too harsh treble
muffled mids
Noise Canceling is more of an amplifier than a Noise Canceler
Leaks Way too much sound
Bass is not detailed enough

Other Thoughts: I currently own a pair of solos and a beatbox, of the three products, the studios were the worst performing. Mind you, with the solos you have to burn them in accurately to get the best sound. but there wasn't enough difference in sound quality to justify $150 more for the studios. The solos performed better in rock (half of my library) and the studios did better with rap. People who care about sound and rock music would be disappointed with this product simply because the amplifier puts too little emphasis on bass during most rock songs and too much on treble. "S" sounds make the headphone sound like a tin can, which the solos and the beat box simply do not do. I am going to exchange these for the Beats pro, so that way I at least wont have an amplifier to mess up the sound or headphones that I know have no risk of breaking.
