2 out of 5 eggsNot worth it.

This review is from: Beats urBeats In Ear Headphone - Matte Black

Pros: The cord on these headphones is nice. They are stylish and the overall design esthetic is good. The sound was clear and they had good bass for earbuds.

Cons: A few things:
1.) After 2 months of use, one side suddenly got super quiet. It still works, but barely. It doesn't appear to be an electrical fault because jiggling the cord anywhere does not affect the sound coming out. After researching, this appears to be a common issue with these headphones. The speaker becomes blown and is not covered under their "warranty" (I put that in quotes because it's pretty pathetic, go look for yourself). I do not play music overly loud and was looking for headphones for work which would last at least 2 years.

2.) These buds go into your ears by design. They fit in my ears fine and stayed there when finally positioned properly. The good part about this is that it seals your ears from other sounds near you, giving you clarity in the sound coming from the headphones. The bad part is because they form this seal, anything disturbing the cord is amplified into your ear...same with other body movements. In other words, if you are looking for earbuds to exercise with, you will be unhappy because walking sends a pounding sound into your ears. If you want an example, plug your ears tight with your fingers and walk around. This is what you hear with these headphones too.

3.) For $100, I expected a cord that would be longer, or maybe an extension included with them.

Overall, I'm mostly upset that I spent this much and they failed after 2 months of regular use. For the price there are also Bose headphones that I was looking at. To do over, I would most certainly get those instead. Fooled me once Beats...

Other Thoughts: These headphones are about name brand, not quality. If you're going for look, you can't beat that little "b" on the side of your head. If you're looking for quality, keep shopping.

1 out of 5 eggsI am very unhappy with my purchase

This review is from: Beats urBeats In Ear Headphone - Matte Black

Pros: The sound is pretty good.

Cons: The sound is not worth $99
The L-R splitter was unglued upon opening (Not that big of a deal.)
Needs better compatibility with smartphones other than Iphone

Here's the kicker: They worked fine for a year. I have the original receipt of purchase, on 9/12/11. Today is 10/2/12. Less that 13 months after the original purchase. Guess how long the warranty is? 12 months. Guess what happened today? Yes, they sony bombed. The right ear bud puts out no sound. They have been well taken care of, and its unacceptable that they went out RIGHT after the warranty expired.

Other Thoughts: I hope this wasn't intentional. Because they're manufactured by Monster. I'm a musician and I've always trusted monster, they have great products and always a Lifetime Warranty. Why don't the iBeats have a lifetime warranty too, monster?

I will no longer purchase any beats products or monster products. I am very unhappy and suspecting that these were designed to go bad right after the warranty like so many other devices.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Headphones

This review is from: Beats urBeats In Ear Headphone - Matte Black

Pros: Deep bass, pretty decent sounds, with the right tips, makes a good seal. Price was also good.

Cons: the volume tab wouldnt work with my HTC Evo 4G. The cord got caught on a door handle just a bit and the left earbuds stopped working. Thank goodness I had a warranty for accidental damage. When I get my money back I will be upgrading to higher end earbuds. I had some sony's for 1/2 the price that sounded as good but without the deep bass.

Other Thoughts: If the price is right, I wouldnt mind buying them.
