5 out of 5 eggsBest Headset So Far

This review is from: HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset with 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound for PC / PS4 / Mac / Mobile - Gun Metal

Pros: Cables don't feel like they will break anytime soon. Thicker than average and they're braided. Thick and soft rubber and the connections.

The controller on the USB cable is thinner than average and feels sturdy. More solid that ones I've used. The clip is good.

Comfortable even for long uses. I've been taking more breaks so I don't keep headphones on for more than about three hours at a time. But they are not heavy and the padding is great. (It may feel too big of you have a small head)

Everyone tells me that I sound great nothing studio quality but you could get buy with it for a streaming show or something. Doesn't pick up much background noise with its built in noise canceling and I suspect that's the cause for me not considering it for a pro studio.

Sounds great. A little less bass than the 2 Bose, 4 Logitech, Afterglow, Razer, and Sennheiser headphones I've had before. I seem to hear S's more but not enough to be a problem.

Cons: Not wireless, but that's okay. I've tried a couple wireless gaming sets before and the batteries make them heavy and they always need to be recharged. I do miss some conversations when I get up and move around but if it was important enough to matter I wouldn't have bought these headphones.

A little heavier than I thought it would be for something with the name "cloud" but it's not for bad reasons. These things feel durable. Honestly it's like how an Apple product feels out of the box. Still, I make this a con because it's not that much liter than the G930's I was using last. But the G930 was nothing but cheap and flimsy plastic.

So far I've only tried the surround sound playing music and CSGO. Fortunately the button to turn it on and off is on the remote. At this point I think it doesn't sound that good. Logitech does a much better job with its synthesized 7.1. I also have Razer's surround sound software that works with and stereo headset and its ounces much better to me. Even if I didn't have surround sound with the Cloud II, my motherboard's DAC is not working properly so I wanted a headset with USB anyway.

I wish there were more colors to pick from. I'm stretching these cons but that's because I really do like this headset.

The only other thing that I wish I could find is a headset that used a natural cloth for the ear and head padding. The fake leather is just like wrapping a head in a plastic bag and the fuzzy ones are a little itchy but at least they breath.this is a problem I have with virtually all headphones though.

Other Thoughts: I've lost track of all the different headsets, headphones, and microphones I've used over the years. With almost all of them i could tell right away the ones that were going to suck and the others did not feel like they were as durable as these. There's a lot of metal and the actions and profs feel strong and properly fitted. I don't know though, I just have a good feeling about these.

We will see! Very happy so far!

2 out of 5 eggsSound is great, microphone sucks.

This review is from: HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset with 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound for PC / PS4 / Mac / Mobile - Gun Metal

Pros: - 7.1 surround sound is great
- Very comfortable
- Solid packaging
- Decent price
- Plug&Play

Cons: The only con is the microphone, which is why I'm giving this 2 stars.
Because of the USB "driver" in the dongle, you are unable to adjust your microphone volume or boost. The only way to adjust the mic volume is via the dongle buttons, which doesn't matter anyway since even at max volume it's extremely quiet.
The only workarounds I've seen from google searches are either
1) Unplug the headset from the dongle and just use the jack, which lets you manually change the volume/boost.. however that removes the surround sound, plus the cord is so short most people wouldn't be able to make use of it anyway.
2) Use a sound editing program like Adobe Audition ($$$) to override the mic settings.
3) If you so happen to use Discord for VoIP, get your teammates/friends to put your volume at 200%. Yeah.

Other Thoughts: I would definitely not recommend this product if you don't want a headache from tying to get the microphone to pick up your voice.
Save your money and wither buy the Cloud1(if you don't want 7.1) or a Kraken 7.1, which is cheaper with very similar sound quality and has a working microphone.

This review is from: HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset with 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound for PC / PS4 / Mac / Mobile - Gun Metal

Pros: This is by far he best headset I have ever owned before, quality is amazing, the surround sound is the bomb!!!
Listening to movies and/or video games it really makes you listen to attention to detail in the back of stuff you might not of heard before. Work well on pc and my PS4 as well but be aware you cant use the remote with the usb adapter remote thingy with ps4 , but still regardless best headset ever!!!

Cons: Idk no wireless options or something like that honestly no real down falls I could find

Other Thoughts: Gamer, movie/music editor, hard core movie person this is for you!

4 out of 5 eggsReally comfortable, albeit, overpriced pair of headphones

This review is from: HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset with 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound for PC / PS4 / Mac / Mobile - Gun Metal

Pros: (1) They are excellent at blocking sound from the outside world.

(2) They are really comfortable! You can easily go for hours wearing the headset. If you are a gamer, getting sweaty ears is going to be your #1 annoyance when it comes to headsets, and this head set performs excellently.

It comes with two sets of swappable "ear muffs", so you can pick whether you prefer a "felt" type of ear piece, or "pleather".

Cons: I'm not absolutely satisfied with the sound quality. This is a $150.00 pair of headphones, but the sound quality is on-par with a $40.00 set, which is disappointing.

Keep in mind, most games aren't going to be using high-fidelity sound track and sound effects, but when you listen to music, it feels like you are paying a lot of money for... well, I have no idea honestly. Perhaps it's a $110.00 HyperX logo you are paying for?

Other Thoughts: 7.1 surround sound? There are two speakers, one for your left ear, and one for your right ear. The fancy "surround sound" features are done via software (though, they call it "hardware" because they include a small USB sound card with a glowing button on it). Don't let the "virtual 7.1 surround" mislead you into thinking you will magically be able to pinpoint a TF2 spy decloak behind you; it's a 2.0 pair of headphones, no matter what they say.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat headset for the $

This review is from: HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset with 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound for PC / PS4 / Mac / Mobile - Gun Metal

Pros: -Good sound quality
-Very comfortable
-7.1 surround sound when used on PC
-Works with xbox one and ps4
-Detachable mic for when u need to pig out and dont want junk on ur mic :P
-Long braided cable

Cons: Mine randomly kicked the bucket after only a little over 6 months. Unsure as to what the cause was, but sometimes electronics just break seemingly for no reason.

Other Thoughts: Would still recommend it to others even after mine died after 6 months, but i think ill try a new headset now just cause i enjoy trying new headset rather than same one over and over

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing headset for the price!!!

This review is from: HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset with 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound for PC / PS4 / Mac / Mobile - Gun Metal

Pros: This head set has to be one of the best on the market in this price range.
-The low's mid's and high's are all very clear and pronounced and sound absolutely amazing.
-The microphone is very clear and has great pick up, i have gotten very positive review from friends on steam and teamspeak.
-They are aesthetically very pleasing to look at and feel very solid and well built.
-The ear pad(i dont know the real name) are very comfortable and lock in the sound very well for noise cancellation.
- The 7.1 simulated surround sound is very nice and take away from very little of the audio quality while coming in very handy in games such a csgo or battlefield 4
-The integrated sound card works very well and i love the options of 5.1 or 7.1 and the ability to adjust mic volume and headphone volume separately
-And finally the packaging the this came in is absolutely amazing. By far the best packaging and care for a product ive ever seen.
Over all this is an amazing headset. If your looking for something in this price range look no further, these are absolutely amazing.

Cons: The only problem i had with this head set is the plastic shell for the sound card started to split at the seem, but that was my fault so no reason to dock and egg.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this to anyone looking for a headset it this price range.

2 out of 5 eggsGreat Product... for a month.

This review is from: HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset with 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound for PC / PS4 / Mac / Mobile - Gun Metal

Pros: Awesome sound quality, and you can't hear anything going on around you. Very nice for playing in loud environments.

Cons: Microphone stopped working after about a month. I'm not sure if its something to do with the USB converter bit or the microphone itself, but very disappointing overall.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Headset

This review is from: HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset with 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound for PC / PS4 / Mac / Mobile - Gun Metal

Pros: - Comfort is amazing
- Lightweight yet durable
- Nice that hyperx included alternative accessories
- Compatible with lots of devices
- Easy to use and setup (Don't really need to install any software)
- Detachable mic
- Awesome 2 year warranty
- Braided cords!

Cons: - Not too sure if you can order replacement parts (for instance a new mic) if anything where to happen but other than that I have had not one issue with this headset yet!

Other Thoughts: Took back Razer Kraken 7.1 for these and cannot be any happier with the decision!

2 out of 5 eggsGood Product if it was durable but it's not

This review is from: HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset with 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound for PC / PS4 / Mac / Mobile - Gun Metal

Pros: Headset feels great, very comfortable. Actual build of headset is a high quality using steel for the headband and not just cheap plastic. The sound is really good when using with the PS4.

Cons: Biggest problem is the mic stopped working after 3 months. Called Kingston Customer Service and performed the wrong test to check the issue. They promised to send out new mic. They forgot. Called back and sent a new mic. After more than a month finally got it and it didn't fix the issue. Going to have to deal with their CS to get the headset fix because the jack on the headset must be faulty. For this to go after 3 months is brutal and I expect more from a $30 headset. The mic is detachable which might be a part of the problem.
The 7.1 sound card USB attachment doesn't work with the PS4 which also means you can't use volume control on the headset and have to use the console controls which isn't so bad.

Other Thoughts: Can't recommend since the headset mic stopped working after 3 months and have received poor CS to this point to get it fixed. Frustrated.
