5 out of 5 eggsWonderful

This review is from: HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset with 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound for PC/PS4/Mac/Mobile - Pink

Pros: I wanted the single plug for my PS4 controller, and the USB plug for my PC.
The headset is extremely comfortable, and I came from the G930's.

Cons: White, so they do get "dirty". Other headsets obviously do get dirty, but these just show. I clean all my stuff (Mouse, Keyboard, etc) once every 3-4 months with bleach or some other disinfectant to keep my stuff clean, so it's not really an issue.

Other Thoughts: It has both leather and cloth over ear pads, which is nice. I use the cloth for more comfort, but it collects fuzz better.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Good Product

This review is from: HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset with 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound for PC/PS4/Mac/Mobile - Pink

Pros: The day after I purchased these for $69 bucks they went back up to $98.00 dollars. These are easily the best head phones I've ever owned. At $98 dollars they are a good deal at $69 they are a steal. They fit comfortably and seal the sound well. My wife watches TV while I online game and complains she can hear the noise when I wear my other headphones...These she's happy with. Happy wife, good life.

Cons: Nothing so far.

Other Thoughts: The sale item was pink only, almost had to turn in my man card when I bought them until I look at the money left in my wallet.

5 out of 5 eggsExellent headset !!

This review is from: HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset with 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound for PC/PS4/Mac/Mobile - Pink

Pros: * Fast shipping got it one day before expected date with standard shipping selected.
*No white noise or crackling sounds very clear and clean sounding, as many other reviews claimed. I got the white with pink trim. the headset feels firm in built.
*All parts that came with work correctly. No having to search for drivers its all there built in windows 7 had no issues finding them.
*Very secure packing, i.e. came in an big box with 3ft of baging with air in them and then the orginal box shipped from newegg that the head set came in was in another box by hyper x and the inside of the last box contained all the accessories and the headset and was set in thick foam.
*The headset is able to change from usb to 3.5mm so this makes it easy to be on the go and use with other devices and the plug and play feature is very convient. Over all Im happy for the price of 99$ I think its money well spent.
*Easy to follow instruction booklet.
* Did an audio test with headset - with the 7.1 on and more indeepth then reg settings while hooked up to pc.
*Headset can be worked with ps4 and xbox one as stated on the box. possible to work with x360 maybe with adapter - haven't tested that yet. And soon to be tested with pc gaming- will give further review when completed test.

Cons: *wish there was an way to adjust the bass like an eq on the dongle or on the head set it self. Maybe hyper x could make an wireless headset of same or better in the future.

Other Thoughts: * For this headset being wired I would buy this one again and for the price.
*Having tried other headset like the xp400 by turtle beach and having problems ect and bluetooth headsets before this one and failed to work with my pc and phone. I decided to sent it them back and go with the hyper x 2, until can find an wireless headset that i like and can do bluetooth of same grid value.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty decent. (Pink HyperX Cloud II)

This review is from: HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset with 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound for PC/PS4/Mac/Mobile - Pink

Pros: -I'm no audiophile, but for me, the sound is good for the price I paid; it's clear, and I don't have to crank the volume up just to hear anything at a decent level. Bass can be a bit lacking, but again, I wasn't expecting a game changer here.
-Velour ear cup option! Infinitely superior to that faux-leather coating nonsense that eventually flakes off and gets everywhere, even with higher-end headsets. They're comfortable and completely surround my ears without pressing the arms of my glasses into my head, unlike MANY other headsets do. This is a HUGE deal!

Cons: -I read the reviews for this as well as the other variants of the Cloud 2 regarding white noise/pops/crackles, but figured I'd take the chance anyway, hoping to get a later production headset without the faulty sound card. No dice, had the same problem. Fortunately, a quick call to Kingston tech support and a firmware update is all it took to resolve the issue. Docked an egg because it's rather silly that this somehow slipped through quality control as the white noise was fairly noticeable.
-Fairly comfortable initially, though the headband feels slightly tight over time. Not a huge issue since I probably just have to break them in, but figured it's worth mentioning.
-The 3.5 cable on its own is, as mentioned, short. Get an extension cable if you're planning to use the 3.5 jack, and/or a splitter if you want to use the mic.
-Mic isn't the greatest, but hardly the worst; a little quiet even after increasing the volume, not the clearest, but still perfectly functional for what it was designed to do.

Other Thoughts: Ugh. Why do companies feel the need to make "girl" versions of things by pinkifying everything? "lawl pink! Pink is fer girls, ya know?" Regardless, it's a little silly that some would be put off these due to the colour, but you just know those types are out there... As for me, I got them because they are a more recent model and generally recent=less problems, and I wanted a different colour than black+whatever for a change./shrug

For now, I recommend these. If I encounter problems with them in the future I will update this review accordingly.

2 out of 5 eggsConfortable Headset with a HUGE Con

This review is from: HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset with 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound for PC/PS4/Mac/Mobile - Pink

Pros: - Fits Comfortably around the ears and the headband is soft.
- Good Sound Quality

Cons: - Audio Constantly goes out while using the USB portion
- People have issues constantly with Popping / Crackling sounds when using the USB portion
- Great look with very cheap quality in build.

Other Thoughts: I would NOT recommend this product to anyone else. I thought by buying Kingston that it would be a quality brand having used their RAM and other products before. Whenever you use the USB portion the audio will cut out randomly, at first it was once a day, then it started a couple times a day, now I cannot go 3 minutes without the audio cutting out, skipping, rending the entire headset worthless. This product was honestly the biggest waste of 100$ ive ever spent. I would of honestly had a more enjoyable expirence taking a 100$ bill out of my wallet and setting it on fire. The USB dongle which was a huge selling point for me because it has 7.1 Audio plus audio volume and mic volume controls but it useless. The only way to make this headset work properly would be to buy an audio splitter and use them without the USB dongle in which this case I could of spent 30$ on a Ehh quality headset and had the same Experience. Not until after I bought this product did I do my research to find out that the Cloud 2s are riddled with issues. I will be contacting Kingston soon on either Returning this product or getting a replacement.

5 out of 5 eggsPINK HyperX Cloud II

This review is from: HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset with 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound for PC/PS4/Mac/Mobile - Pink

Pros: -The 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound isn't all that bad. I like it. You can certainly notice the difference when it's switched on.
-Feels amazing on my head. Extremely comfortable.
-Nice packaging. Good Company. Good product.
-Headset Mic detaches, thus listen to music on the go.
-Mic quality is good, not the best, but still good.
-Did I mention they are very comfortable??
-Cancels sound. I see my friends lips moving, I can't hear him when I'm wearing this headset.
-Braided Cord
-Pink

Cons: -The 3.5mm capable/cord is extremely short. If you are planning on connecting this to a sound card, you will need to buy a 3.5mm extension cable.
-The 7.1 option is usb, great if you plan on only using usb, but terrible if you were planning on using the 3.5mm to plug into a sound card.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this product to anyone. It's a shame the 3.5mm cord is too short. Regardless, the product has such incredible sound it deserves 5 eggs. If you are on a budget, and want a great headset that will bring your gaming alive, this is the best choice.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect!

This review is from: HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset with 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound for PC/PS4/Mac/Mobile - Pink

Pros: These are probably one of the best headphones I have EVER gotten before, especially at the price point I got it. Now, I am not an audiophile, but I think the sound quality is pretty good. I play CSGO at SMFC-GE Level and these work really well. They are also super comfortable, and the mic is pretty clever.

Cons: None so far.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat product

This review is from: HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset with 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound for PC/PS4/Mac/Mobile - Pink

Pros: - Good sound quality. Maybe not super audiophile quality, but good quality.
- The digital 7.1 surround sound is very crisp on newer media.
- Loads of customization options: different ear cups, different adapters, a removable mic boom, etc.
- Actually noise cancelling. You can't hear anything coming out of the ears when the headset is enclosed around something, unless you're blaring something ridiculously loud (and if you're blaring it that loudly, you'll probably go deaf and not notice the sound, anyway).
- Very good mic quality. Mic is removable and repositionable. Mic is also noise cancelling; no echo that I could discern.
- Braided cord and very study design. The clamps around the earcups are metal, and the headset feels lightweight, without feeling cheap.
- GREAT packaging. Shallow, but worth noting. Even comes with an adorable carrying case, and I normally don't do 'adorable'.

Cons: - 3.5mm jack, which is awesome, except that it has a fourth connector due to the mic, so plugging it into the soundboard that has different jacks for sound and line-in will either have to purchase an adapter/splitter, or use the USB cord option, if necessary.
- The default cord is VERY short. We're talking barely 3 feet. If you plan on using this at your computer, you will need an extension, or use the USB adapter. However, that has a small problem itself:
- The USB adapter, with 7.1 surround enabled, has white noise that can detract from softer pieces.
- Likewise, the 7.1 is DIGITAL surround sound, so it's effectively emulating the sound. Most high quality music should sound great, but old (mono track) music, or music that is of lower bitrate quality (live performances, fan tracks, sometimes even commercials/trailers) can sound very warbly and distorted. The addition is nice, but you'll want to turn it off for some things.
- Without the 7.1 digital surround sound, the bass can sometimes sound distant, and the treble can sound a little sharp/tinny. Again, depends on the quality of the song being listened to.
- Setting up the USB to work is a little wonky -- your headset becomes its own sound device, and you have to select it as the default for it to work. It's...weird.
- The headset is tight. Even after a month of use, it still feels tight against my head. It doesn't give me headaches, but the skin connecting to the headset, especially around the headband, can become very tender after hours of use.

Other Thoughts: In spite of the cons outweighing the pros in the list, I do really like the product. Once I've had more time to stretch out the headband a bit, I think it'll be some of the most comfortable headsets I've ever worn. It has good sound quality, GREAT mic quality, especially for the it being a gaming headset, great packaging, and lots of options for what you want to use it for. I bought it on sale for $75, and was worth every penny.
