2 out of 5 eggsDead 1 year later

Pros: Comfortable, good quality sound and not overly bulky.

Cons: Exactly one year, ironically, the right ear coupling died.

This is most likely due to a loose wire or bad soldering, but regardless, despite descriptions of this headset and the extra "features" to protect the wire, it didn't hold up.

Good headset minus it not even lasting a single year of use.

2 out of 5 eggsBad electronics build quality.

Pros: Comfortable.

Cons: Don't drop them or else you get a rattling noise in the ear enclosure that you dropped it on, unfortunately for me I dropped it on both sides, on carpet... Also, the wiring in the grommet to the enclosure is shorting out, which is making the right speaker intermittent.

Other Thoughts: Why are good headsets so hard to find? This is a good brand! I guess just stay away from the headsets.

3 out of 5 eggsNot sure why they cost so much

Pros: Nice colors, somewhat and umm... that's just about it.

Cons: This sounds cheap and looks cheap. Usually a fan of Asus products when it comes to their motherboard and GPU, but I think they spend way too much trying to commercialize with pro gamers which makes buyers feel they've gotten the best thing in the world to get ready for extreme gaming experience... their headsets and monitors are all hyped up and expensive for no reason.

Other Thoughts: Those gamers who use certain products that they commercialize for? They'd probably win with just about any mouse, monitor or keyboard. These headsets shouldn't cost more than $30 and i'm being generous with three stars. At least for $80 you'd think you get something decent... this isn't even close. I went with a Samsung SHS-260w, imported from Korea instead for $35... sounds better and a better quality build overall which is very unfortunate!

Quality first before advertising please... this was very disappointing.. would've been nice with my Asus board and Asus GPU... returned this in 2 days. Maybe after this Samsung I'll go with the Sennheisers again

3 out of 5 eggsMeh

Pros: Good looking headet.
Base is black with a red trim, and the logo is a scrubbed aluminum shield.
The mic hides inside so you can wear them out if they're not too big for you.
Somewhat comfortable.

Cons: I'm on my second pair. The first one lasted a little over 6 months before the left speaker went out. Their support is pretty bad SEE OTHER THOUGHTS PLS.

The cable gets tangled like crazy. no matter what you do you will always have to disconnect it, stand on a high chair, and let it spin to get untangled.

The second headset, always send in a rather odd low pitched beeping sound as if it's not getting enough power of some sort. It's pretty bad, I'm going to sell these online for cheap and buy something new unless ASUS wants to give me full refund for these.

Other Thoughts: Their support is bad, they didn't want to help me. I had to go to my local electronics store, get buy the headset (luckily they had it) replace them with mine, and return it as if I had bought it broken.

The new ones aren't even good.. they have a weird sound.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat audio quality; build quality less so.

Pros: Great audio quality, especially with an ASUS Xonar card. Everything is crisp in the highs and well rounded and defined in the lows.

Cons: There is a rattling noise in the right speaker, maybe a loose screw?
Slightly more disheartening is that the mic doesn't work. I've tried every trick in the book.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid headset

Pros: good sounding headset. These are better than my Razer Carcharias headset. They have plenty of decibels unlike my Razer (without using a soundcard). The cord is beefy and feels really strong, its also braided which is nice. The mic is crystal clear and I had to make zero adjustments to the mic volume. I love the fact that its also retractable. They have a nice plush pleathery feel to them. I read reviews before i bought them where people said they feel kinda cheap and dont have the best build quality. I beg to differ...they actually feel pretty solid. Last but not least they look awesome and will fit my upcoming ROG build to a tee. Great job Asus!!

Cons: As soon as i got in-game i noticed they had a hollow plasticky sound to them. After using them for a few hours i have adjusted to them. Theres still a faint hollowness to them but its not that bad. They also tend to be slightly discomforting after a few hours of use...maybe they will feel better once broke in. This is why im only giving 4 eggs for these

Other Thoughts: If your looking for a nice solid headset and you plan on using a decent sound card then buy these. They are impressive...but not overly. My Razer's actually sounded slightly better using an X-fi card with 3D positional activated. I planned on using these with SupremeFX anyways so i knew id be relying on dedicated audio to provide most of the sound quality. Price wise they should be about $10 cheaper but i got mine for $55 on (The Bay of E). If you can catch them on sale then Id say these are a must have and im happy with my purchase. ROG FTW!!

3 out of 5 eggsGreat product, but...

Pros: I bought this headset about three months ago and I absolutely love it! It is so comfortable I can wear it all day! The microphone produces high quality audio and the headphones sound is so crisp and clear!

Cons: Yesterday I got home from work and the left side of the headphones no longer work. I have inspected the cable for physical damage and I cant see any thing. I know I didn't break them they just stopped working. I was so bummed because these are the best headphones I have ever had, let alone a great microphone.

Other Thoughts: In general I would buy these again but I am a little worried that they might break again in three months. I have always bought and used ASUS products so I feel like I just got unlucky and I think it might be too late to get a replacement. If they would have lasted longer I would have rated a full 5 stars.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Headset

Pros: These have the same great sound if not better than another set I was looking at through SS and I'm glad I pulled the trigger on this set. They match my whole red and black setup nicely, the cord is just the right length and the are the most comfortable ear pieces I've ever worn.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: The 'Pro' model is overkill in my opinion if you're a casual user. The USB drivers aren't necessary and you can find software suites that can tweak all sorts of settings if you have a decent sound card already.
