The Drakonia is an ergonomic mouse with a focus on stability and control. It's large size and flared base give you: (A) more control for very small and fine movements; and (B) better comfort for extended gameplay sessions. As a result, the kind of gamers that appreciate the Drakonia include FPS snipers and RTS/RPG players, those who are normally in it for the long haul. For RTS/RPG players having as many buttons as possible is always better. The Drakonia provides 11 programmable buttons plus a scroll wheel for those gamers who know that you don't have to always do it faster in order to do it better.
Ergonomic Feel, Stylish Design
The Sharkoon Drakonia Gaming Laser Mouse suitably matches its name with its bright green dragon scales and illuminating tribal dragon logo. The ergonomic design and rubberized sides ensure that the associated dragon rider has a comfortable and secure ride during long and turbulent missions.
The Drakonia is an ergonomic mouse that focuses pure stability and control. Its larger size and flared base gives you more control for very small and fine movements, as well as better comfort for extended gameplay sessions. As a result, the Drakonia is ideal for precise movements and longer gaming sessions, from FPS snipers to RTS/RPG players that are in it for the long haul.
The Heart of a Dragon
The fire of the Drakonia burns from within: The Avago 9500 laser sensor delivers to up 5,000 DPI resolution, 11,750 FPS frame rate, 30 G acceleration, and 150 IPS speed. The set DPI rate is always in view through the use of four colored LEDs. Low-sense gamers who frequently allow their dragons to be lifted in the air are supported by the Drakonia by its low lift-off distance of up to five millimeters.
11 Programmable Function Keys
The Sharkoon Drakonia can be tamed with its 11 function keys including the 4-way scroll wheel, which with the enclosed software to include the macro-manager can be fully programmable. Software and on-board memory provide numerous configuration options which can be stored in five user profiles.
Extra Gaming Features
Individual players can also adjust the weight of the mouse: The Weight Tuning System consists of six 5 gram weights. The 180 cm long connection cable has been reinforced by Sharkoon with a textile cover, and gold laminate coats the USB plug. A set of replacement sliders is included within packaging.
What's in the Box?
Sharkoon Drakonia Gaming Mouse, CD with software and manual (as PDF), additional slide pads (5 ceramic, 5 Teflon), transport bag.

5 out of 5 eggs3 years now

Pros: 3 years and this mouse still works. I'm on the computer a lot and play games a lot. I would say this mouse can last a very long time with heavy gaming usage.

Cons: Not a con, honestly, but on the second year of having this mouse the lights stopped working. Besides that, I just started getting the double click problem with the left mouse button. A simple fix though if you are willing to open it up.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid

Pros: Smooth and comfortable. I find the reprogrammable buttons very useful.

Cons: Finally died after 2 years of heavy usage.

Other Thoughts: The software that comes with it is a little glitchy. It took a little finagling to get it to do exactly what I wanted.

5 out of 5 eggsTwo years and working like a charm

Pros: Enormous mouse. The biggest ive ever used. Braided cable. 11 buttons. programmable Led. Weighted and adjustable. No ifs No buts No coconuts

Cons: Not really a con but the click is a little hairpin and can be hard to get used to but once you do it becomes preferable.

5 out of 5 eggsNothing to complain about

Pros: This mouse has everything I've ever wanted from a mouse. It has adjustable weights, you can change the LED flashing colors to literally any color using the configurator, you can adjust the USB polling rate, DPI goes really high and is fully adjustable, the buttons are in nice places, it looks like a lizard which is pretty cool to me, it is bigger than mice I'm used to which I like, and the list goes on.

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: The only reason I got this mouse in the first place was because my Razer Tron got soda spilled on it and the right mouse button stopped working. I had that mouse for over 5 years, and boy was I upset, especially because I had gotten it off of for 19.99, and I know I will never find it that cheap again. So I went on Newegg and started browsing lower-priced gaming mice that aren't from Asia. This mouse was such a pleasant surprise. I hope it lasts me at least another 5 years, praying no more soda spills!

4 out of 5 eggsNice mouse

Pros: Well-sized, stable, consistent, lots of programmable buttons

Cons: No program-specific settings, cord is a little shorter than I'd prefer

Other Thoughts: Bought this several weeks back and have been enjoying it. It works smoothly and evenly. Macro playback has been consistent. Set-up was fast and easy. My biggest complaint is that it does not have program-specific settings. If you set a button equal to ctrl-shift-1, it will have that setting in every application. Also, the button for the ring finger seems like a good idea but is, in reality, very hard to get used to using. Maybe if I had younger, more nimble hands...

5 out of 5 eggsTurned out to be a gem

Pros: One of the best mice I have owned. Not sure why people think it's not durable, I have owned it for a year now with moderate use and it still looks and works as if it was new. Granted I don't play RPG's for 8 hours a day with it.

Its big, comfortable, and accurate. The wheel feels very sturdy and well built, its nice and stiff at first, takes a bit to break it in. It's also highly customizable and you can adjust the pointer speed on the fly which is nice.

Cons: I can see if some people aren't crazy about the green dragon scales but I decided to go for it because everything else on my desk is black so I decided to shake things up a bit with some color and I don't regret it. Also worth noting that I wipe it down a lot with clorox wipes and the design still looks new after a year so it is durable.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat purchase

Pros: First gaming mouse purchase, and I love it. Mouse performs well, has many settings and buttons, and the look and feel are very polished.

Cons: 1. Hairpin right click button. I spent about 2 weeks getting use to this, but until I had, I right clicked almost everything!

2. No sniper option. Looked through the settings for a while and can't find a way to drop the DPI to a much lower level, and then bring it back up upon letting go of the button.

Other Thoughts: Great purchase, very glad I have it! Worth the price.

1 out of 5 eggsAwesome 10 button mouse!

Pros: Has a nice feel, excellent tracking, and includes adequate software.

Cons: Button failure and customer service

Other Thoughts: Bought an eleven button mouse and now have only ten. One of the "extra" mouse buttons that were originally used for internet browser support failed after only 4 months. A button that saw infrequent use.

No problem, under warranty, right? Well, I received several prompt responses to email, but It took almost two months to get the RMA from them. Why? I don't know, but it seems they might outsource to someone else in the states for service here. Just a guess since they said expect an email from their "service partner".

I'm about to send it back and since they do not cross ship (or just send out a new mouse like some other companies do) I find myself probably purchasing another mouse soon. I have no confidence that their U.S. service partner will promptly send me out my replacement. If I get it in 90 days I'll be amazed.

I'll change my rating to a 3 as the hardware seemed top notch. Lemons happen, but no excuse for shoddy customer service.

SAVE YOUR BOX. My mouse had NO serial number printed in the area where one would expect to find it on the mouse. They will ask for a PHOTO of that number. Luckily, I kept the box and it had the serial number.

4 out of 5 eggsBig and Green

Pros: It's a larger mouse that lends itself to my big hand size, and really feels great in your hand.
The weight is adjustable so you can set it up exactly how you like, keeping the mouse as light as possible is probably for best for performance in games, I've taken all the weights out of mine and enjoy how it "handles".
It's really easy to change your DPI in the middle of a game you don't have to move to far out of your normal holding position.
The grip along the sides is a bonus for me, I keep my mouse so light I feel like the grip is necessary to keep my from throwing it across my desk(Although it's really not THAT light).
The mouse is incredibly responsive, and clicking around in games is more smooth with this than other mice I have used.
No internal, external, or program errors with the mouse for the period of a year or more I've had mine.

Cons: Not necessarily a con, the advertised 11 Macro-able buttons could be misleading. That's including the DPI switch and mouse wheels' side pressing action, I looked it over and knew what I was buying, but thought it might be worth pointing out.
The button on the right side that by default changes your Sharkoon symbol light can be hard to reach, if you plan on using it for macros. I feel pressing it in a game slows down what I was doing.

Other Thoughts: I don't like how the scale design over most of the mouse is incorporated, it makes the mouse feel cheaper. They probably should have just done a nice green gradient paint job to make it feel sleeker.
Any time I'm playing games with friends they always want to try the mouse, and seem really impressed with it.
Don't adjust the DPI past two green lights, or like mentioned in another review; even the thought of moving your mouse will send your cursor to the very edge of your screen.
A solid 4 stars, definitely worth the money. I've had no problems with mine for the period of a year or more that I've had mine. Comfort and performance bring it to the easy 4 egg level, if it were a bit more sleek and didn't seem cheaply made(in some aspects) it could EASILY hit 5 eggs.

1 out of 5 eggsGlitchy

Pros: Comfortable
Lots of options

Cons: I have a logitech usb headset, when I leave the headset plugged in and power down my computer the mouse stops working (i.e. red flashing LED). Usually removing the headset fixes the issue and rebooting solves the problem, but it has not this time. They must have cheaped out on the mouse's memory and wrote shoddy drivers. I am VERY disappointed and was even more angry when there was no number that I could call to report the issue, instead there is a form with no indication as to how long it will take to get a response.

Other Thoughts: If I could go back I would not keep this mouse, I would have RMAed it. This is terrible...
