The Gaming Audio Series HS1A brings the same comfort and design as its award-winning predecessor, the HS1 USB gaming headset, to an analog version for gamers who prefer to use their own sound cards. The HS1A uses the same massive 50mm drivers for high-quality audio reproduction, two sets of memory foam earpads, and high-quality noise-canceling microphone as the HS1 USB. It connects to the audio source and mic input using two 3.5mm stereo plugs and includes an inline volume control and microphone mute button. With amazing sound quality and superior comfort for long playtime, it’s the analog headset for gamers who are serious about audio.

  • newegg Amazing Sound The HS1A uses massive 50mm drivers for a level of sonic detail that’s just not possible with the 40mm drivers found in most gaming headsets. The result is detailed audio reproduction with clean, accurate bass and sparkling clarity in the mids and highs, even when everything’s coming at you at once. Superior audio isn’t just more enjoyable — it lets you listen longer, without fatigue.
  • newegg Immersive gaming The circumaural, closed-back earcups offer superior noise isolation at LAN events and other high-distraction environments. They keep outside sound out, and your head in the game.
  • newegg Built for Comfort The HS1A uses replaceable memory foam earcups for a custom, reliable fit. The extra-large diameter and deep-dish design help prevent them from touching your ears. Customize your comfort by swapping the two sets of included earpads — microfiber, or synthetic leather.
  • newegg Not just for games — great for music and movies, too A lot of gaming headsets have frequencies response tuned for gaming, at the expense of acceptable audio quality for music, movies, and everything else you listen to on your PC. The Gaming Audio Series HS1A Gaming Headset is different. The same careful acoustic engineering that delivers amazing game performance also gives you the precision audio response your favorite media deserves.
  • newegg Noise-canceling Microphone The noise-canceling microphone with flexible, rotating boom offers clear audio for in-game chat, Skype, and other VOIP applications.

4 out of 5 eggsgreat while they lasted

Pros: got these to pair with my xonar dg 5.1, and it was amazing while it lasted. then all the sudden the mic stopped working just after the 2 years of warranty had passed . luckily i have my xbox 360 turtle beaches with are just as good . all in all i would of expected more durability out of this expensive of a headset.

Cons: none

2 out of 5 eggsWas good till it broke

Pros: - Had a solid feel to it.
- The sound was great
- Comfortable

Cons: - Broke after two months.

Other Thoughts: Literally two months after purchasing it broke. The left earpiece just went out, then none of my friends in ventrilo could hear me.

I ended up going back to a $9.99 headset that works till this day, waste of money. Will not be using Corsair again.

3 out of 5 eggsGood headset but faulty

Pros: Good sounds, comfortable and good controls.

Cons: Wire within the headset must have been faulty or lose, after about 2-3 months the sound began getting funky and cutting out, only if you wiggled the wire near the headset could you get it to work right. It would be an easy fix, but theres almost now way to take these things apart other than breaking them open with a hammer.

4 out of 5 eggsWas great until

Pros: Great sound
Very Comfortable
mic worked great
All around the best headset I have owned

Cons: After a year of use the sound started cutting off, even tho this had a threaded wire, the part that gave out was the small rubber insert into the headset itself.

1 out of 5 eggsYou get what you pay for

Pros: Light, very comfortable

Cons: Mic is too quiet. Sound in left ear started cutting out.

Other Thoughts: Headset doesn't work if people can't hear you. Might as well use headphones

5 out of 5 eggsHow Much Do You LIke SOUND?

Pros: Super sound and very comfortable

Cons: None ...

Other Thoughts: I am a long time audiophil and love good sounding speakers and headphones. I have found over the past year that these HS1A Corsairs sound as good as any of my Sennheisers and are very comfortable. Of course I know the MOBO has something to do with it too (ASROCK Extreme4 Gen3) so power is not a problem and they handle it beautifully. Not overdone in base ... great sound.

3 out of 5 eggsGood for a while

Pros: Comfortable ear pads for my big ears. Overall, I found if quite comfortable, and the sound was great while playing BF3.

Cons: It worked fine for about 6-8months, and then the left ear stopped working unless I held the cable up at a certain degree. Mic also stopped working during that time frame. I should've gotten the USB version, but this is only in retrospect.

Other Thoughts: I'm not sure if mine was just an exception, but I hope other people didn't experience the same results. It was my first "real" headset, so I did like it quite a bit, but my emotional attachment did not fix it.

2 out of 5 eggsQuit working in less than a year

Pros: The kids really liked these for their computers. Bought one for each of two kids. They used them for skyping, gaming and listening to music, etc.

Cons: In use from End of Dec 2011 to mid July. One of them has stopped working. Nothing, nada, zip. No reason. Very expense for approx 6 months of intermittant use.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

We're sorry for the inconvenience, please fill out an RMA request on the Corsair Support Page and we'll be more than happy to replace the headset for you.

Thank you,
Corsair Customer Support

5 out of 5 eggsGreat IF YOU BUY A HEADPHONE AMP

Pros: - Excellent range of sound *IF YOU BUY A HEADPHONE AMP
- Lightweight and comfortable
- Extremely long cord
- Doesn't look ridiculous (like Beats)

Cons: - Does not come with a headphone amp, but I suppose that would bump it out of its current price range, so not really a 'con'

Other Thoughts: Do your research! The drivers inside these are bigger than the average headset, so they need more juice!

I bought the ASUS Xonar DG (~$30) with these and they seriously sound like studio quality headphones; I rarely even use my M-Audio speakers now.
