  • newegg Dolby Headphone multi-channel audio built in If you have onboard sound, the Vengeance 1500 provides easy one-cable USB connection and Dolby Headphone technology that lets you enjoy multi-channel games the way they were meant to be played. Dolby Headphone is compatible with any game with 3D audio, and helps reduce “headphone fatigue” while delivering the accurate 360-degree audio imaging you need if you’re playing to win.
  • newegg 50mm drivers The massive 50mm drivers greatly reduce the overloading and distortion that can occur with gaming headsets that use 40mm drivers. You get more accurate sound reproduction (particularly for the all-important low-frequency effects). You hear more audio, more cleanly, and you get a competitive advantage.
  • newegg High-sensitivity noise-cancelling microphone Whether you're barking instructions to your teammates or chatting with old friends, you deserve to be heard. The unidirectional, noise-cancelling microphone is tuned to capture your voice loudly and clearly, while screening out distracting background noises. And, it flips out of sight when you’re not using it. In addition, the circumaural closed-back design also blocks distracting sounds and keeps your head in the game, and the extra-large inline volume and microphone control is easy to grab and use when the action heats up — you don't need to take your eyes off the screen.
  • newegg Superior Comfort The extra-wide, extra deep earcups don’t just help things sound great — they feel better, too. Customize your comfort with the included microfiber cover. It uses memory foam earpads for a comfortable, reliable fit that conforms to the shape of your head without binding or pinching.

5 out of 5 eggsSounds great!

Pros: Sounds amazing and is comparable to a 7.1 sound-card.

Great options for equalization and sound positioning. I've played games like CS:GO with this and you can perfectly hear what direction someone is coming from.

Really gives you a nice edge.

Cons: Sadly with any wired headset you have too look after your cable and treat it with much care. After about a year a short has developed right under the volume control. So just keep your cords safe!

Other Thoughts: Crazy how they can make it sound like 7.1 surround sound with just 2 speakers. Awesome headset and really impressed me. Before this headset I've only ever used 3.5 jacks to high quality sound cards.

It is a bit frustrating to record PC gameplay/commentary when using a USB headset, so beware of that.

You have to find a workaround otherwise you can't record stereo mix or wave mix like you can with a good soundcard.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Its good. Good software, good quality, good cable, good sound, good microphone, its just good. 50mm drivers make sound even better. The software is pretty good, not the best I've seen but gets the job done and is fairly easy to use.

Cons: Previous headset had 2 3.5mm jacks with converter, which gave me options, this is USB only but I knew it going in and was ok with it as I only use it and wanted it for PC.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent, but flawed

Pros: Nice 7.1 emulation. Deep tones and wide variance. Very clear and comfortable over long periods of time. Good mic.

Cons: No clip on the wire, heavy volume dongle mid-wire has caused a wire to break 25 months into gentle ownership.

Other Thoughts: These have been pretty good to me for a couple years, but now the sound is starting to cut out on the right-ear. If I hold the wires just right where it connects to the volume box it can work for a while.

4 out of 5 eggsHeavier than they look

Pros: They have amazing sound reproduction (especially low end) and the sound options are fantastic.

Cons: You will undoubtedly use these for gaming, but they are a bit heavy and get a bit tight after a couple hours. The mic is good, the sound is good, but it will wear on you if you use them for any long period of time.

Other Thoughts: They are good for the money and certainly don't disappoint. I would buy them again.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat while they lasted

Pros: Im not a audio guy so I thought the sound they produced was clear if not a little loud. And the microphone worked great, anyone on the receiving end could hear me clearly.

Cons: They were tight on my head for a long time and hurt my ears in the first few months of having them. They did stretch out a little bit but i think this lead to the biggest con for me. After a little over a year, about 1 year 4 months, the right side earphone swivel broke. And not a little broke, the whole earpiece came out and part of the plastic broke away from the rest.

Other Thoughts: If they didnt break i would be very happy with them, but since they did I can't give a very good rating for them, otherwise its a 4 egg out of the box

3 out of 5 eggsCorsair Vengeance 1500

Pros: This is a great headset for sound quality, as well as noise cancellation and voice quality.

Cons: The USB drivers are a pain to initially deal with, and do not come shipped with the headset. I did run into driver issues.

Another problem I have had with these is the cord seems to be lacking in quality. I have had 3 headsets fail on me, and after the 3rd pair failed, I did not find the cost of shipping them out to be worth it for the RMA, and rewired it myself.

Other Thoughts: Corsair handled issued multiple RMAs without an issue multiple times. Great customer service.

3 out of 5 eggsNot What I Was Expecting...

Pros: See other thoughts >>

Cons: See other thoughts >>

Other Thoughts: I order this headset on 6/10/13 the price was reasonable $75(Total) I was really exited for my first gaming headset unfortunately I was not impressed. This headset lacks in bass, it needs something else to give that extra power. I would not consider this to be the ultimate comfortable headset out there. After 2-3+ hours after raiding you can(I personally) start to feel the weight of headset coming down on my head. Sure this headset may feel light but once you were it, the weight can start coming down on you. The foam or microfiber ear pads are not that comfortable either, your ears can get warm, not hot but warm so you need to take the headset off once in a while. Also, the microfiber picks up a lot of lint or dust and since I'm still the gel type guy it leaves flakes on the ear pads since it rubs against the hair.

The mic in my opinion seems very good. when I used the mic In mumble my group noticed right away and said "did you bought a new mic or something, your voice sounds crystal clear" props to the mic then.

Ever since Windows 8.1 corsair has been having issues with their sound drivers for a while they had brief 1-2 months of nothing but troubles.

I typically use this head during the night when everyone is sound asleep or when I'm raiding 2-4 Hours.

Even after 10 months in using this I personally would recommend this headset to say the least, when I was at Best Buy in the PC gaming section I tried the Logitech G430s and these felt so much lighter and they weren't crushing my head also the demo sound effects where even better and sounded more convincingly. I'm probably going to try out Logitech or Steel Series for my next purchase.

3 out of 5 eggsGot 5 months out of this headset

Pros: The headset has amazing sound and the mic is very clear . I love the software that comes with the headset as well. To change from gaming to watching movies or listening to music is great.

Cons: I ordered this headset in Sept. of 2013. It is now Feb. of 2014. The headset has started to cut out and the sound is now very low and hard to use for anything at all. I hate that I am now having issues as I truly loved this headset while it worked correctly.
